Biden can’t even steal a joke right — 28 Comments

  1. Wits or no wits, it really doesn’t matter. He comes off as such an incredible asshole (pardon my French, Neo). It is as hard for me to see Biden’s appeal as it for the Never Trumper to see Trump’s.

  2. had Reagan stayed a dem, his detractors who once praised him would have still praised him, same had Trump been a dem.
Nobody ever thought the pre-senile Biden to be bright .

  3. There is a lot of self-delusion on the left. They tend to think they are more intelligent than they are.

There is also a tendency for people to follow simplistic narratives like “smart” people believe something so it is right. It is just taken for granted that they are right. It’s a self-image thing. For the record, this isn’t unknown on the right (or the center) either.

  4. Very few people on the left really believe Biden is in charge. They may say it because they think they have to but that is all.

The idea of Biden was a means to an end nothing more.

  5. One would think that a man who had a track record of some plagiarism would take care to avoid repeating that mistake.

American politics seems to be on a slow but accelerating path from cheap theatrics, to transparently phony cheap theatrics, to Kabuki theatrics, and finally the theatrics of the Emperor’s new clothes and Stalinesque adulation.
    ______

The Clinton admin. was noteworthy for bringing theatrical producers into their campaigning and I suspect their White House operations to some extent.

Linda Joyce Bloodworth-Thomason (born April 15, 1947) is an American writer, director, and television producer. She is best known for creating, writing, and producing several television series, most successfully with the series Designing Women and Evening Shade. She and her husband, Harry Thomason, are also notable for their friendship with former President Bill Clinton, and the role they played in his election campaigns.

  6. One of the best things Trump did (and he did plenty!) was expose the Fake News as the liars and frauds that they are.

Today the Daily Mail (UK!) ran a story about how the former FBI director Louis Freeh gave $100k to a trust for Joe’s grandkids. What corruption!

If the Press was doing its job, that would be investigated. And Jen Psaki would be asked that Joe Biden release all his crypto transactions.

The clip Neo embedded came from this story.

Bonus: Johnny Carson on Biden’s plagiarism in 1987 (that the Democrats kept this failure in office for another quarter century says all you need to know about their ethics as a Party).

  8. But he WAS able to steal the election right.

(And that’s all that really counts…)

And so, sloppy Joe gets the last guffaw….

  9. Remember that old supposed quote from someone in the Bush Jr. administration about how “we create our own reality?” Well, that’s how we ended up with Joe Biden in the White House. Our economic, political, and media elite are so disconnected from reality that they confuse what they want with what is. They are genuinely incapable of connecting their own actions with the impact those actions have.

  10. “Well, that’s how we ended up with Joe Biden in the White House.”

Um, no. Sorry. He got there by having stolen the election.

(Methinks yer trying to explain this away by echoing those who have—successfully, it must be admitted—created their own reality and they continue to exploit this “created reality” to destroy the country as much and as fast as they can.
    Diabolically ingenious, actually.)

  11. “Um, no. Sorry. He got there by having stolen the election.”

Good grief. Becoming terminally pedantic is not going to make anything better.

Firstly, I suspect Joe Biden wasn’t even sure what day it was during most of the 2020 campaign. He didn’t actually steal jack.

Secondly, the most important thing isn’t whether the election was stolen. America survived Nixon/Kennedy 1960. It could survive Biden/Trump 2020. How the election was stolen isn’t even the most important thing. The most important things are why they so desperately needed Biden to win and how they thought they could get away with it.

    Mike

  12. Two hints:
    1. The need to successfully cover up all the cover-ups designed to cover up their past, extensive criminality.
    2. The need to extend this criminality and destruction into the future (and beyond)…and cover all the new stuff up.

Other than that, I confess I’m at a loss…though I suppose one could wonder just why they feel they have to be so massively and multi-dimensionally destructive and do it so quickly—oh, and transparent—about it. (After all, Rome wasn’t destroyed in a day.) Of course, transparency has always been one of their stronger suits…

  13. “Secondly, the most important thing isn’t whether the election was stolen. America survived Nixon/Kennedy 1960.”
Because JFK stole the 1960 election , we had an untested amateur in the oval office tested again and again in Vienna, Bay of Pigs, Laos and Cuba..
In fact he arrogantly decided that killing the ONLY viable politician in South Vietnam would lead to good things and not a destabilized nation with 58,000 of our boys killed.
    Karma’s a bitch

  14. Bunge explains it all; but the second most important thing is ….

“Ximinez: NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Our chief weapon is surprise…surprise and fear…fear and surprise…. Our two weapons are fear and surprise…and ruthless efficiency…. Our *three* weapons are fear, and surprise, and ruthless efficiency…and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope…. Our *four*…no… *Amongst* our weapons…. Amongst our weaponry…are such elements as fear, surprise…. I’ll come in again”

  15. physicsguy,

Rod Serling succinctly and brilliantly points out the inherent flaws in totalitarian ideologies and regimes. However he was mistaken in thinking that dictators and totalitarian regimes are obsolete.

Every generation produces a certain percentage of those who hunger for power over others.

“Political tags – such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth – are never basic criteria.
The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire.”

    Robert A. Heinlein

  16. “Because JFK stole the 1960 election , we had an untested amateur in the oval office tested again and again in Vienna, Bay of Pigs, Laos and Cuba..
In fact he arrogantly decided that killing the ONLY viable politician in South Vietnam would lead to good things and not a destabilized nation with 58,000 of our boys killed.
    Karma’s a bitch”

    This.

And now it’s children playing with matches.

  17. Cornhead,

“If the Press was doing its job…”

As we all know, we have propagandists not a free press. And as propagandists, they are doing their job.

    MBunge,

At base, it is not the elite that you mention who are responsible, it is those who voted for Xiden who are responsible. Ignorance and willful denial have an expiration date.

They are “getting away with it”… and the importance of how they stole the election rests upon the certainty that they will do it again… repeatedly. Until there is no need for ‘elections’.

    Barry Meislin,

“If it were done when ’tis done, then ’twere well / It were done quickly” Macbeth

or put more colloquially, “Strike while the iron is hot!”

  18. Tommy Jay: “ American politics seems to be on a slow but accelerating path from cheap theatrics,…”

Yes, this is something that’s been slowly sinking in on me. It’s becoming completely unreal, with people simultaneously recognizing that and going along with it. And yet there are very real effects.

  20. I think we have missed the most important part of this video: He does what most mean incompetents do–when he failed at humor he immediately “blames the other” by calling them “a dull class”. All the liberal democrats I know have that skill down pat!

  21. Remember the “Airplane!” signature image with the fuselage tied in a knot? Hopefully someone is writing the screenplay of “White House!” right now, featuring the image of a dilapidated White House, crumbling into a fetid swamp! And Donald Trump the developer eyeing the mess from the driver’s seat of a huge bulldozer!

  22. “Still plagiarizing after all these years…”

I don’t think that’s how the song is meant to go…

Disclaimer: No one should believe that they’re being forced to believe anything they don’t want to. IOW, anyone can believe what they damn well want.
DIVERSITY!! etc…. Facts, schmacts! Evidence, shmevidence!…moreover, somehow, I don’t believe that “The [joke’s] the thing wherein we’ll catch the conscience of the king…” etc….
