Black cop: the heart of the matter is lies
This article appeared recently in The Federalist, based on an interview with a black police officer (his employment was documented by the periodical):
In my opinion, the anti-cop narrative began with the Obama administration. He made negative law enforcement comments, and in controversial cases would show up to the deceased’s funerals (which were later justified as lawful shootings). The Dallas five were killed under Obama and he didn’t show any respect toward them.
That was true of so many of our recent destructive developments. Obama was an innovator of sorts. Riding on his own popularity and the favorable press he knew he would receive, he slowly introduced behavior that was unusual for a president, as well as prejudicial and partisan, and did it in a manner that most people didn’t notice or that was framed as praiseworthy.
More [emphasis mine]:
…[W]e’ve been on this slippery slope since the start of the BLM [Black Lives Matter] movement. That’s where things really started to take a serious turn. We were already nose diving, and Floyd’s death is just more fuel to the fire.
All these cases involve a false narrative of police racism, from Trayvon Martin to Rayshard Brooks to George Floyd, causing tension and a divide between law-enforcement and the community.
I would add that they involve not only a false narrative of police racism but also a false narrative of police brutality. Those paired narratives have been so powerful that even when the truth does come out eventually – usually in a courtroom setting – it makes almost no impression. In the past, with the Zimmerman trial, the Freddie Gray case, and the Darren Wilson (Michael Brown) grand jury, the truth finally prevailed in court if nowhere else.
But the false narrative lived on elsewhere, almost undiminished, and that narrative finally triumphed even in the courtroom the day the verdict was handed down in the Chauvin trial. Not only that, but the Chauvin trial has made it more difficult for officers to get a fair trial in the future, by demonstrating and escalating the threat to both witnesses and counsel for the defense.
All of this makes it harder for officers to respond effectively to crime. From the article:
But what used to concern us was bringing in the suspect safely and prioritizing how we’re going to defend ourselves if need be, and get home to our family. But now it’s, “I don’t wanna go to jail. And if this dude has an underlying medical condition I don’t know about and he decides to fight or he is on drugs or he strokes out on me, a jury might send me to jail for this.” It changes the kinds of calls we respond to…
The academy has lowered their physical fitness standards and we have dropped ours completely. Now if you’ve got a pulse and some experience? We will take you. Because that’s how bad we are hurting for bodies. Of course, the lowering of standards does not increase the odds that things are going to be done right. So it will perpetuate the problems.
That’s one of the goals of the left, to cause chaos and ultimately build demand for a federal police force. And the press, which could act as a check by printing the truth, is all in on the lies.
One of the many results of the promulgating of this false narrative is the widely-held conviction that any black person who dies in an encounter with law enforcement is absolved of all responsibility for resisting arrest, as well as the similar notion that black Americans should somehow not be held accountable for their criminal misbehavior, since even a large adolescent girl attempting to stab another black girl should not have been prevented (in this case by deadly force) from acting upon her rage by a white policeman. The implication is that whereas others possess agency (and could have acted otherwise), thus deserving censure and punishment, blacks must be viewed with a different standard.

Yeah, but TRUMP!
I apologize for trivializing your comment, but this just jumped into my head. Whataboutism on the left always reverts to WHATABOUT TRUMP! I’m fed up with it, but it will be with us until Trump announces he will not be a candidate in 2024.
As Tucker said last night the goal is to federalize the police so they are no longer accountable to the local community. That way they can ignore the shock troops of the totalitarians, target their enemies and persecute the serfs.

Coupled with the surveillance state as the FISA court just revealed AND CONDONED they aim to drive us down or quiet us. Now they can bust down and That way they can continue to impoverish the American Middle Class. This upcoming 2021 and 2022 elections are so critical. We need to check the power of Leviathan. That is what I am attempting to do using all legal remedies. The states can check this overreach. The totalitarians showed how during the Trump administration. I see signs of that happening now.
There base problems is that they can only Federalize what they control. I can see the Karen’s and Chad’s rebel when the shock troops start coming into their neighborhoods. That is why they are demonizing all local police.

I know folks who admit to knowing the truth about Michael Brown, et al. But they will still insert the subject into a conversation as if the lie is the truth. The folks we consider the Dark Powers CANNOT succeed without the eager support of those who believe obvious lies.
Local TV ran a piece about likely voters and those who said they chose Biden usually got around to Mean Tweets. They might mention “infrastructure” as if the phonemes explain all. But mostly it was Mean Tweets.
Given the political climate, there is no legal remedy to the media’s treason.
“The folks we consider the Dark Powers CANNOT succeed without the eager support of those who believe obvious lies.” Richard Aubrey
Which makes them complicit and culpable in the crimes their support enables…
The person who best refutes the lies about Donald Trump is Donald Trump. If he doesn’t run I want him to be out there giving it to them anyway.
If you think Trump not running is going to stop the “what about Trump” BS you haven’t been paying attention. They are going to try to make him a combination of Nixon, Hitler and George Wallace and slander anyone who ever supported him.
And right now those always brilliant Republican election strategists are trying to figure out the best way to distance their candidate from the guy who 75 million pissed-off voters gave their vote to.
WE WANT MORE TRUMP!!
The academy has lowered their physical fitness standards and we have dropped ours completely. Now if you’ve got a pulse and some experience? We will take you. Because that’s how bad we are hurting for bodies.
that started with the feminist movement and their way of lowering standards till the people who thought of themselves and worked hard to be the best above others lost their moral strength to bother… after all, it no longer mattered to get promotions, and being X or Y meant you could not get any as spots were reserved for people who could not meet the conditions for rising but rose anyway to create an image…
demoralization happened wherever they went and no one cared which made it worse… police, fire, military, etc… anywhere that physical prowess defined the right stuff… now their sports are being destroyed by third rate players who claim to be women and are destroying their records to the point no biological female from birth could ever come near let alone beat.. and then there is the whole 2nd is first, so we can forget the first… despite number two did it decades later and with better equipment and helpers and so on… as if that was the same thing…
the reward is that they will get what they deserve if they win this that way…
GB. True. But saying “you voted for this” is cold comfort. Although it may be the only comfort.
President Zero’s legacy remains a series of lies and false narratives, excoriating the US and its people. His record is division, hate, and mistrust of authority.
Rush Limbaugh was correct in February, 2009, to tell us at CPAC, that he hoped the new black leader would fail. People were aghast! I’m still wishing he’d failed.
Alas, Obama may prove to be THE MOST SUCCESSFUL president in US history….
(Of course, that would depend on how one defines “success”, i.e., the exent to which one would be able to fundamentally transform that particular definition.)
