Benghazi: “Find them and bring them to justice” said Hillary many years ago — 6 Comments

  1. Remember the gaslighting assertions, asserted at max volume, “THERE WAS NO STAND DOWN ORDER!!!!”?
Over and over. As if it meant anything.

You don’t need a stand-down order unless there was a stand-up order. Where was the stand-up order?

I was at Ft. Bragg the summer of ’70 when the Jordan alert (Dawson’s Field alert) happened. Finished class one day, coming off the three mile run and a major was yelling, “Post is closed, return tot quarters.” The whole place was getting spun up; the alert brigade of the 82d to jump on the field (east of Amman in Jordan) with a second wave of every combat arms guy they could scrape up who wasn’t jump-qualified to deplane like gentlemen.
Turned out the passengers were spread out too far to be rescued. Unlike Entebbe six years later. So the op was cancelled.
Point is, we know what to do if a stand-up order is given. Plans are in the filing cabinets and reviewed regularly,
And then, the 173d Abn Brigade was in Viet Nam. When the Benghazi thing went down, it was in Vicenza, Italy. NATO’s airborne quick reaction force. Available maybe an hour away.
So, morons, where was the stand-up order and why not?

  2. Bringing them to ‘justice’ is useless because it won’t act as a deterrent. The left will make it a political non-starter to execute them. After a decade or two in prison, if not sooner, the left will release them.

Conversely, execution in a decidedly ‘unclean’ manner would deter future terrorist acts because by their own beliefs, execution in such a manner will permanently deny them entrance into ‘paradise’. You deter a mortal enemy by connecting to their actions, what for them is unimaginable consequence, reversing the risk/reward ratio.

  3. @Geoffrey Britain:Conversely, execution in a decidedly ‘unclean’ manner would deter future terrorist acts because by their own beliefs, execution in such a manner will permanently deny them entrance into ‘paradise’.

You keep saying this and it keeps not being true. Muslims did not leave other religions a cheat code to keep them out of heaven. It’s not true for Jews either for that matter. Muslims can even eat pork in cases of necessity. Shahid are not supposed to even be washed even if they died in a pork packing plant.

It would just make them mad, not be any kind of deterrent at all. Israelis already tried this in 2002 and it obviously doesn’t work.

JERUSALEM Jewish settlers have come up with a new way to deter Palestinian suicide bombers wrapping their corpses in pigskin to deprive them of the fruits of paradise.

The settlers believe that contact with a pig, an unclean animal for Muslims and Jews, will rob the bomber of the reward of martyrdom, traditionally said to be 72 virgins.

Settlers at Gush Katif, in the Gaza Strip, were the first to claim to have defiled the body of a dead Palestinian with “pigskin and lard.”…

Palestinian Muslims reacted with scorn to the idea, saying the soul went to paradise and was unaffected by any taint to the body.

“The keys to heaven are not in the hands of settlers,” said Sheikh Hassan Youssef, for Hamas, whose military wing has sent dozens of suicide bombers into Israel.

  4. Hillary is a loathsome scumbag.
I have no way to prove this, but I am convinced that Sandy Berger took some very sensitive documents from a SCIF, that the Clinton’s have used as a force field against legal consequences.

  5. The (oft derided here) blogger Sundance produced what he called The Benghazi Brief. IIRC he claimed that the Obama administration ran an off-the-books operation (Operation Zero Footprint) involving an arms transfer. In order to preserve deniability when the operation went south, the four Americans were not rescued, and Susan Rice went on the Sunday shows to repeat the lie that the consulate was attacked out of anger over a YouTube video which disrespected Islam.

Sometimes Sundance is wrong, sometimes he is out of his depth, but reading his piece made me respect him and not automatically disregard his writings.
