Hate to use this blog to tout others, but if you’ve got some time this morning spend some of it over at Instapundit. Great round up of the Maduro news, and Sarah Hoyt is on a roll – a series of really great posts. Well worth reading.
If Biden or Cackling Harris or Obama were president, OSHA would file a lawsuit against this guy for making an “unsafe” seat.
Where are the seat belts for the children??
Have the children’s seats been load tested to ensure there is zero chance of structural failure??
And don’t forget the Dept of “Education;” is the reading material LGBGT friendly?
Are the children being exposed to transvestite performers, as they should be??
None of this is beyond reality if Kamala, the Cackler , Harris was our president or if Gavin Newsom becomes our president.
Given the magnitude of the news this morning I kind of skipped actually watching the video on this open thread. Just got around to it. It’s very touching. The kind of thing that gives me hope.
John Tyler: “Have the children’s seats been load tested to ensure there is zero chance of structural failure??”
As I saw him using just a few screws to attach those vertical backs, I wondered about that too. But if the kids are so easy to lift, (probably less than 30 pounds each?), and the major force is downward from them sitting, I believe things will be ok until they need a bigger side bleacher type assembly.
Hurray for the American family, writ large.
Watching the video a second time, at the 20 second mark, I finally noticed he also had side rails and triangular seat supports, so there is little to fear from that design.
One keeps wondering why the US can’t be more like Sweden…
There is—finally—more than a glimmer of HOPE…
EARLIER today, sources posting at YouTube say civil war is breaking out in Iran, as protests spread to over 80 cities in a country of 80 million — and civilian casualties mount to from -17 killed.
And only hours ago, The London Times confirms that Khameini has exit plans to escape to Moscow. In parallel, the anti-Islamic civilians now have access to arms, and local police are defecting to join them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfF6xPexoy0
If so, events expected to take, perhaps, many weeks appear to be accelerating into days.
Meanwhile, will the Venezuelan’s pick up on this clue? Musk has given their country a month’s free access to the Internet via Starlink. But will they use it to secure their own freedoms?

An excerpt of the thrust:
This coalition was Trump’s breakthrough. For all its novelty, it stood in a recognizable Republican lineage. Eisenhower and Reagan had both shown that a broad, nonsectarian language of faith could bind religiously and racially diverse Americans into a single political community. Trump replayed that winning tune in a populist key—offering not theological precision but an expansive moral vocabulary in which disparate groups could locate their place in the national story. It made him electorally viable and gave him the possibility of building a durable governing majority. […]
And yet, at just this moment of triumph, Trump seems to be losing control of his own movement. The challenges—some around foreign policy, some around domestic issues, some related to messaging in general—at first seemed disconnected. But on closer inspection, one can see a common thread running through them—a line of attack aimed squarely at the heart of his legacy.
“MAGA” and “America First” once functioned as synonyms—two labels for the same revolt against the Progressive orthodoxy of an entrenched elite that was unresponsive to the voters. But inside Trump’s base, a rising faction now insists the two are diverging. In their telling, Trump’s second-term agenda has drifted from first principles.
The Times of Israel reports on the Iranian government’s decline:
Islamic Republic in ‘survival mode’ amid protests, Iranian officials said to believe
Times of Israel ^ | January 4, 2026 | Agencies
Senior officials in Iran have acknowledged that the country has been “thrust into survival mode” amid growing and increasingly violent protests against the Islamic Republic’s regime, the New York Times reported.
At least 16 people have been killed during a week of unrest in Iran, rights groups said on Sunday, as protests spread across the country, sparking violent clashes between demonstrators and security forces.
Deaths and arrests have been reported throughout the week, both by state media and rights groups, though the figures differ.
The protests are the biggest in three years. Some senior figures have struck a softer tone than in some previous bouts of unrest, at a moment of vulnerability for the Iran with the economy in tatters and international pressure building.

I think Doran is just reflecting Democrat and TDS ex-Republican wishes.
The MAGA coalition ain’t going anywhere but forwa4d. A “crack-up” is sheer invention of the regular HATE-Driven nay sayers.
While Doran is typically insightful, even he can fall into the Propaganda Media’s silsos. And 8 think that’s what’s happened here.
