Candace Owens goes full Der Stürmer — 30 Comments

  1. She has become the arrogant condescending vile epitome of that which she rales against: a hateful lying racist. (Wish someone who has influence would publicly confirm that , yes, blacks can be racist. Even if they marry a (very rich) white man. Unfounded hate based on people’s ethnicity or skin color or religion is racism. And boy is she a walking, talking prime example! And most significantly, she is unbelievably dangerous given her influence — which ironically began with her association with Charlie Kirk and is in large part a direct result of HIS success and his relatable message – which is a far cry from what she now spews. And Maybe having married the son of a billionaire makes her feel unassailable. I can’t believe I once thought her to be clever, attractive and articulate. This video just consolidates my revised opinion that she is a monster.

  2. I’m pretty sure Candace Owen is looking for the Alex Jones segment of the market. I don’t know how much antisemitism Alex Jones ever personally engaged in, but definitely a chunk of his audience was in the market for it.

I don’t know how genuine any of Owen’s previous public personae were, nor how genuine this one is, but the common theme is separating the credulous from the contents of their wallets.

Plenty of organizations on the Left, like the SPLC and ADL, will profit from her as well. There’s always someone willing to act the Goldstein role, the Left doesn’t always have to invent them.

Painting Owens as dangerous and threatening is of course exactly what she is looking for, and exactly what will confirm her audience in their beliefs. (Many of them seem convinced that Erika Kirk was meeting her to have her done away with.) I do think it’s better to ignore such people.

  3. I once loved Candace Owens. That was then.
Now, I have no absolutely use for her (and that’s putting it far too mildly).
What in blazes changed?? — and so radically.

  4. I got through about thirty seconds of the Owen link and had to stop lest the nausea overwhelm me. The ignorance, lies, and pure hatred are more than sensible people should swallow for one second.

When she said that the Talmud teaches enslavement of black people, obviously she never heard about the Ethiopian Jews who were airlifted into Israel. They are black of the East African type, in appearance a lot like Ilhan Omar, for instance.

    Owen has become evil.

  5. I got through about thirty seconds of the Owen link and had to stop lest the nausea overwhelm me.

Decent people rightfully recoil from such things. Watching it requires an act of will.

  6. I couldn’t bear to even give it a shot.

Given that she’s married to an extremely wealthy white British man, she doesn’t need the money and I don’t think that’s what she’s after. She’s after power and influence.

I strongly doubt that very many American Jews know very much about the Talmud and that would include all the ones with wealth, power, and influence.

  7. Is there a thing about being so bad that more prospects are turned away than are lured in?
If she’s preaching to the choir, it’s not particularly important. They’d believe anything including today’s AI anti-semite assignment.

  8. Antisemitism is common among blacks. I daresay that many if not most blacks are antisemitic or have negative feelings toward Jews and Israel. Growing up in a mixed-race environment, attending a mixed race high school (with a substantial number of black and Jewish students), and playing sports with black teammates, I saw many instances of black antisemitism made manifest. It is a curious phenomenon and it has been around for a long time, yet even today it is rarely discussed — or admitted. Jewish leftists and liberals seem to turn a blind eye to it.

  9. I suspect I’m getting boring by saying this…but…it will be sad/funny when Jews discover their safe spaces are Baptist churches and NASCAR events. Plus SEC universities.

  10. The pathologies on display (for quite some time now, alas), are as fascinating as they are alarming.

    …Anyway, something to lift one’s spirits…in a manner of speaking…

    People are stepping up.
    All is not lost…

  11. Owen really does have her work cut out for her….

  12. Richard: … it will be sad/funny when Jews discover their safe spaces are Baptist churches and NASCAR events.

Some of us already have. And it is heartfelt appreciated.

  13. The people in America who actually have the power to meaningfully harm American Jews, or damage the interests of Israel, are the leftists who are embedded at all levels of our public and private institutions.

Probably wiser to focus on the Herculanean task of recapturing those institutions rather than be distracted by internet loudmouths.

None of the professional protesters against Israel at universities and in blue cities are there because of Tucker Carlson or Candace Owen, and those people were not coddled and indulged by administrators and government officials at the behest of Tucker Carlson or Candace Owen.

  14. Does anyone care as much as Candace Owens cares about the Macron marriage? What is her fascination with Mrs Macron? I don’t care if she’s trans. Who would?

  15. AppleBetty. I live in a normal midwestern town. If I wore a tee shirt saying “I stand with Israel” into one of them, I’d be welcomed. In another, the prosecutor would say I “was looking for a fight”.
There are more of the first type and fewer of the second south of the Ohio River.
We’ll leave the denom to your guessing.

  16. I choose to ignore Candace Owen. This rant (which I could only watch a few seconds of) illustrates why. I recommend a lot of others ignore her, and Tucker Carlson. You life will be better for it.

    “Antisemitism is common among blacks.”

From your experience, is there any reason to consider this an attempt by blacks to be or stay at least one step higher on the “oppression” ladder or totem pole?

I also wonder if slaves or free blacks were exposed to the doctrines of Christianity, they might have been fed an anti deicide version early on or often, and thus “grew up” with an anti-Jewish orientation? I suppose this could apply in America, Africa, and elsewhere if/when Christianity was promoted in a malformed way.

I suspect, or hope, that neither of these ideas can be pushed too far, even if valid in selected cases/ situations. But Richard Dawkins has explained that cultural memes do evolve or survive based on their acceptance over time.

  18. I’ve actually read most of a book called “The Babylonian Talmud” (some years ago).
It is quite interesting, if you enjoy reading legal case studies in a Bar Review or ABA journal.
As Neo says, it it NOT what Owens is peddling.

  19. I am a Christian who knows something about The Talmud. It is a very misunderstood book, or rather, library of books, compiled over ages from a myriad of sources, often contradictory because of its compilation of rabbis debating one another over arcane interpretations of Jewish law and customs. It does contain inflammatory references to “yeshu” which are usually (and probably correctly) interpreted as referring to Jesus, so there is a basis to see it as containing anti-Christian polemics. It also contains a million times more content having nothing to do with Jesus, “yeshu” or anything having to do with Christianity, as one would expect from a compilation of Jewish rabbis discussing and debating what it means to be “Jewish” after the destruction of Judaism’s central place of worship and the entire fabric of Mosaic Judaism. I personally don’t get too upset about it; it doesn’t concern me, nor does it diminish my Christianity. Unfortunately, it does provide fodder for Jew haters of all stripes to pick and choose something within it that they can get lathered up about. And that perfectly describes the execrable Candace Owens and those who seek to elevate her to a position of prominence. She is no more an orthodox Christian than was that other notorious Jew hater, A.H. Like him, she uses “Christianity” to attack her opponents, instead of reflecting on how to live out the teachings of Jesus in her own life.

  20. I think negative comments about the Jewish authorities who persecuted early Jewish followers of Yeshua in the Christian scriptures, and negative comments in the Talmud against Jewish followers of Yeshua (whom they viewed as heretics) should be placed in historical context and not extended to all Jews or all Christians for all time. And, as pointed out here, Candace Owens’ demented comments about the Talmud are completely false.

  21. I’m sorry, but Netanyahu is doing with bombs what Hitler did with concentration camps. The ethnic cleansing of Gaza at the hands of Bibi and the IDF is absolutely abhorrent. October 7th occurred at the perfect time for Netanyahu. He was facing MAJOR public backlash for changing the Judiciary and then the most monitored country in the world, a country no bigger than the state of New Jersey, didn’t see the Hamas attack coming??? It took the IDF HOW LONG to respond? I’m not saying there was a stand down order given but without that terrorist attack, Gaza is still intact. But because of it, Gaza now resembles the aftermath of a game of Jenga played by Michael J. Fox and Alan Alda.
