  1. The Deep State will be looking out for Comey, but every judge needs to be checked for Comey BFF

  2. #1
    Blacks can’t swim.
    Well, hey, Whites can’t dance!

    …Which seems like a pretty fair tradeoff…
    (And as Thomas Sowell, that nonagenarian non-swimmer has famously said…)

    Am eagerly awaiting the arrival Summers’s forthcoming textbook: “The Micro- and Macro-Economics of Prudent Adultery”, most likely in the form of a novel, or perhaps poetry—Anime?—and dedicated, no doubt, to um, er….

    #6
    The rather jaw-dropping magnum opus for anyone still a tad confused by the latest Heritage Foundation / Tucker Carlson / groypers thang (with Patrick Buchanan making a robust cameo appearance…):

    “Neither American nor Conservative;
    The flagship paleoconservative publication got everything about Donald Trump’s Middle East policy wrong—and then melted down.”—

    Hold on! Caveat emptor: “It’s too early to tell”…
    …to paraphrase Zhou Enlai’s renowned observation on the global consequences of the French Revolution…though apparently, Say-It-Ain’t-So-Zhou was NOT referring to THE French Revolution:

  3. Everything in the country must be A-OK if congress has the time to deal with all this Epstein garbage which has absolutely zero impact on anyone in the country.

  4. Griffin, NEO is arguing that innocent people will be negativity impacted.
    If Trump, and I doubt he is, isn’t in the files, the Dems will pivot to “He Scrubbed the Files”.
    I just hope that some very prominent Dems will be very negativity impacted. Bill and Hillary, I am looking at you.

    Senate passed the bill, it is on it’s way for Trump to sign. Did he play the Dems? May have.

  5. I hope it doesn’t turn out that Clay Higgins had some personal motivation for his vote because he is right. This is a sad day for the rule of law.

  6. And thanks for the link Barry. I damned near missed it, even though I follow Commentary quite closely.

  7. SHIREHOME,

    Yeah I don’t care at all about any of this and I think it’s ridiculous that so much time and energy is being spent on this.

    When Hakeem Jeffries is speaker in 2027 we will be all asking why the R’s didn’t pass more actual legislation in these 2 years instead of this kind of garbage. I know this is just one thing but they should be codifying a whole bunch of Trumps executive orders but instead they are pretty much a do nothing body at this point.

  8. The gun debate is getting even more interesting. The Democrats favorite groups are arming themselves.

    The Explosion of New ‘Non-Traditional’ Gun Owners Should End the Gun Control Debate Forever

    For decades, gun controllers claimed that firearm ownership was the domain of rural conservatives, that minorities had no interest in self-defense, and that LGBTQ Americans would never touch a gun. They were wrong then, and today the numbers prove it beyond debate.

    The latest University of Chicago Crime Lab study shows that over half of new gun buyers since 2020 are women, minorities, and people who identify as liberal or LGBTQ. KUNC’s reporting confirms the trend: black gun owners, Hispanic gun owners, Asian Americans, and LGBTQ citizens are now arming themselves in record numbers.

    In other words, the gun-control narrative is collapsing under the weight of reality.

    And the reason is simple: when crime skyrockets, when police response times slow, and when prosecutors refuse to prosecute — Americans do what free people have always done. They take responsibility for their own safety. Even if they vote blue.

    Btw kunc is an NPR station with a report that tries to spin the rise in gun ownership to fear of conservatives.

  9. Gun ownership?
    Wouldn’t wanna forget the Soros Gang’s contributions to all this:

    https://www.zerohedge.com/political/after-gates-foundation-cuts-ties-arabella-advisors-ceases-operations-reemerges-sunflower

    Opening graf:

    Nearly three months after the New York Times revealed that the Gates Foundation had decided to sever ties with philanthropic advisor Arabella Advisors, which engineered a sprawling “dark money” network of nonprofit entities, including the New Venture Fund (NVF), Sixteen Thirty Fund, Hopewell Fund, and Windward Fund, that continues to wage color-revolution-style operations against President Trump in an effort to crush the populist movement through the protest-industrial complex, there is news that the powerful far-left philanthropic consulting firm that handles money for rogue progressive billionaires or their foundations is being rolled into a new vehicle….

    [Emphasis in original; Barry M.]

  10. Clay Higgins is a former stalwart sheriff of St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. A tough dude.
    I believe he knows criminal law better than 99% of his Congressional peers.

  11. They take responsibility for their own safety. Even if they vote blue.

    Maybe…”ESPECIALLY if they vote blue”?

    “‘Gun Rush’ sweeps Jewish New York;

  12. Every judge that comes to their attention should be investigated for mortgage fraud as it seems to be a thing among lefty legal types.

  13. #1: There was no reason whatever beyond Michelle Obama’s inferiority complex for her not to wear any number of very attractive black hair arrangements. My daughter’s AAU basketball teammates would get braids before a four-week round of tournaments and basketball camps, and swim, play basketball, shower, and look great the whole time. My actual African acquaintances tend to keep their hair short and wear very beautiful wraps around their hair, also a lovely option. Michelle Obama gives me a pain.

    #2: I agree with Neo, and so did Trump, I think, until recently, when Democrats began trying to use the emails for political advantage. People are going to get hurt and this is squarely on the Democrats. If there had been anything scandalous about Trump in all these emails it would have been leaked long ago.

  14. @SHIREHOME,

    Even if Mark Epstein’s remark about “Trump blowing Bubba” turns out to be true? 😉

  15. Michelle’s actually said that she wouldn’t run for President because the United States “still had a lot of growing up to do,” I presume to meet her lofty standards, and to be worthy of her grandeur.

  16. Snow on Pine:

    Yes, she won’t deign to do it.

    Her message hasn’t changed. It’s basically the same as in 2008, when I wrote:

    Ms. Obama seems to be tone-deaf to the implications of what she’s saying, much as when she slipped in the idea that Barack was “one of the smartest people you will ever encounter who will deign to enter this messy thing called politics.” But despite the fact that these non-elitist folks have stooped so low as to get their hands dirty with the hoi polloi in the political fray, Americans have not yet realized how lucky they are. Otherwise, it would have been over long ago, with Barack the heir apparent.

  17. “I am deeply ashamed of my actions being so poorly conducted as to allow me to be caught doing something offensive, and recognize the pain they have caused, especially to me…”

    There, fixed it.

  18. Hi neo,

    Yes, I very much agree.

    I think that Michelle Obama doesn’t like The USA…[those are my words], yet she loves the attention, and the sums of money, that these, “horrid and immature, and very dumb”…fans of hers give to her.
    [That quote is not a quote from Michelle, by the way.]

    I think that she belongs to a number of political types, who like to get adoration from US people/Americans. They are a number of political types…who take what they want from the Americans, although they never have liked the Americans.

    It’s sort of a point of view of- I don’t like you, but I like what you are giving me.

    It’s just my view: being a rebel who wants to change America into something better, is one thing.
    But Michelle is just someone who wants to be a rebel, just so she can criticize the people that she dislikes.

    I truly believe that is how she views the US people. It’s unfortunate, but it looks like that is how she views the United States, and the people of The United States.

  19. I think Larry Summers decided to stay out of the public eye until he’s sure the media won’t bring his name up over his sordid relationship. That’s TAKING OWNERSHIP of a PR move.

  20. I don’t give a heck about what Michelle O. says, and wish she would go away.
    = = = = = =
    ‘After Gates Foundation Cuts Ties, Arabella Advisors “Ceases Operations,” Reemerges As “Sunflower Services”
    Thanks for the link, Barry.
    = = = = = =
    Here’s an idea: to spare Michelle O. the humiliation of having to run for office, why don’t we just appoint her President Queen?

  21. Michelle Obama has had a very strange life in which people were for 17 years willing to hand her escalatingly lucrative patronage jobs in public agencies and nonprofits absent any demonstrable skill which would improve productivity. She hasn’t held a salaried position since 2008 and the last one she did hold (for which she was paid $300,000 a year plus benefits by the University of Chicago Hospitals) was so vital to her employer that it was eliminated in a hiring freeze when she vacated it. (Her salary in one position was doubled when her husband landed a committee chairmanship in the legislature which vetted legislation affecting the health care sector. Reminds one of the remark by Lewis Amselem that Foreign Service officers who have served in Latin America know that the function of the 1st lady is to launder the bribes).
    ==
    By some accounts, the Joyce Foundation in Chicago was proposing ca. 2000 to pay the right candidate some stupefying salary ($500,000 a year, IIRC) to be its executive director. BO interviewed for the position but didn’t land it. Also by some accounts, Mooch wanted her husband out of the legislature and in that job and was steamed when he didn’t land it. She’s never been enthusiastic about public life. That makes her more appealing than Hellary or Dr. Jill.
    ==
    Her remark about the country ‘having a lot of growing up to do’ to elect someone like her manifests a sentiment that I’ll wager is bog standard among professional class leftoids.

  22. Aw, give ‘er a break.
    Ya’ think having to commute between mansions in DC, Hawaii and on Martha’s Vineyard is a piece ‘a cake??

    (…At least Bernie is practical enough to have all HIS properties in one tiny state…AFAIK…))

  23. At the time that Michelle Obama became First Lady, she was the most admired woman in the country. The arbiters of fashion couldn’t stop raving about how astonishingly beautiful and fabulously stylish she was. If she had worn an Afro, cornrows, or dreadlocks, hairdressers all over the country would have been inundated with women demanding to have the same style as Michelle.

  24. Instapundit on a roll…
    (Circa 9:30)…

    My favorite: Amy Schumer’s rather abrupt aesthetic “transition”from fierce Rubenesque-ista to proud Twiggy afficionada…

    “Big is no longer beautiful and body positivity is officially over: Amy Schumer lost a ton of weight and scrubbed her Instagram of all traces of her former overweight self. “—

    Dear Lord, what a fambly…

  25. The allegedly “imperiling” Order in the Comey case (issued by an appointed Magistrate Judge) has already been stayed/reversed by an actual Judge.

  26. Given that neither had a history of living around Washington prior to age 40, given that neither lived there except as a consequence of having held elective office, and given that their daughter finished high school in 2019. having a house in DC strikes me as bad form. I can think of three of his predecessors who did this: one was elected to Congress after he vacated the presidency, one was appointed to the Supreme Court, and one was married to a woman who had arrived in Washington at age 23 to marry a local merchant and inherited his business on his death. (The business was at one time located on Pennsylvania Avenue and the president’s brother-in-law was employed there in 1917-18).
    ==
    Funny that they don’t have a residence in Chicago, where he lived for twenty years and she lived for forty years.

  27. If she had worn an Afro, cornrows, or dreadlocks, hairdressers all over the country would have been inundated with women demanding to have the same style as Michelle.
    ==
    I think her actual hair was for a number of years cropped close to the scalp. She favored wigs.

  28. Michelle Obama has the financial means to permanently leave the USA and renounce her US citizenship.
    Given her hatred and contempt for the white supremacist, racist USA, one would think she would welcome getting out of racist Dodge.

    She is one bitter, frustrated, angry multi-millionaire and her “problems” have nothing at all to do with her skin color, though that does provide her (in her own mind) justification for being unable to keep her inane thoughts to herself.

    As much as I dislike barry HUSSEIN obama, I do not blame him for living 3000 miles away from her. He too probably finds her unbearable.

  29. Thanks Steve, for that update.
    Was getting a bit worried there…though we’re by no means out of the woods, yet.

    (Fascinating, though, that under the radar—relatively—the country has somehow “developed” a fourth branch of government:
    – Executive
    – Legislative
    – Judicial
    – Obama Judicial )

    File under: Checks and imbalances…

  30. The President of Harvard, needing advice on how to seduce women, went to a guy who paid 17-year-olds for sex. Amazing how some people can be smart about one or two things, fucking idiots about the rest.

  31. @Owie:The President of Harvard, needing advice on how to seduce women

    Not only that, gave her a racist nickname. Funny that no one seems to be commenting on that. He and Epstein referred to her as “peril”.

    Of course in the privilege stack East Asian may as well be white with respect to any other group except whites.

  32. Incidentally have we noticed that the Epstein resolution doesn’t really “release” much of anything, given all the exceptions? The only things not covered by one of those exceptions are the things already public.

  33. The woman Larry Summers was after seems to be Keyu Jin.

    Her father was a communist official working on the Belt and Road imitative.

    She wrote:

    • The New China Playbook: Beyond Socialism and Capitalism, May 16, 2023.[18] In The New China Playbook, Jin writes that China has achieved significant progress without following the “Western path” and its innovation and technological development challenge the view that China must converge with Western economic systems and political persuasions to continue its development.[5]:?136? The book takes a positive view of China’s mechanisms of state-led economic intervention.[5]:?136–137?

    AI replied with this when I asked if she was a member of the Chinese communist party:

    “Keyu Jin has described herself as a “proud Youth League member of the Communist Party” during her youth in China. The Youth League is the youth wing of the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC).
    While this indicates past membership in the youth organization, public information about her career as a global economist and academic does not explicitly state whether she is a current, official member of the full Chinese Communist Party”

  34. “Incidentally have we noticed that the Epstein resolution doesn’t really “release” much of anything, given all the exceptions? The only things not covered by one of those exceptions are the things already public.”

    Perhaps, but some of the stuff we have recently seen seems new, and has made things a bit more difficult for the Democrats. And it is clear the Democrats are only interested because they thought it would hurt Trump. It seems like everything they do backfires.

  35. @Don:some of the stuff we have recently seen seems new

    The way the online world works, “seems new” doesn’t mean much. Old news is continually recycled and presented as new as long as it drives clicks.

    We’ve seen this phenomenon on this very site more than once over 2024 and 2025. Not that neo is deliberately exhuming old news for clicks, but when people online start writing about something like it’s new she’ll point out that it’s actually old. (A lot of the post-debate commentary on Biden’s brain was of this nature, stuff that had already been reported somewhere but legacy media was finally talking about like it was new.)

    With Epstein, it’s just the same stuff over and over and it’s only what people are talking about on any given day that changes. For example, the “little black book” has been online since 2015, and six years ago a journalist actually called every number in it and wrote about it. Flight logs been online for years, knock yourself out.

    Whatever it is people are talking about on a given day is something that they’ve seized on from something that’s already been out there and have just decided to talk about that now, in most cases. But not really new. It’s like a forest was cut down years ago, and no one heard the trees fall at the time, and five years later they’re doing reports on one downed tree every week…

  36. Clay Higgins is right and Trump has done his best to protect the innocent.
    Larry Summers a good example.
    Are there any men who forced children or women to have sex with them? That is a crime. Name those people, with evidence.

    Men in a relationship who had sex with willing women provided by Epstein? Exposure might do more damage to family relations than the act itself.

    Kind of like homosexuals in the closet being outed. They may have been humiliated, and families destroyed because some militant gay exposed them.

    Another example, adopted kids seeking birth parents. Fine and dandy if parents family is aware there was a baby given up. Potential disaster otherwise.

  37. @Niketas Choniates

    I know about the flight logs. What I mean is things like Stacey Plaskett texting with Epstein during Congressional hearings and him giving her real time advice on questions to answer (not to mention her casual interaction with him). This is just one example. As far as I know, that’s new information.

  38. As each new school or university shooting, assassination attempt, actual assassination, or mass casualty event occurs, and you read the often far too few details offered about what seem to be the almost universally “disturbed” mental states of the perps involved, you have to wonder if the various psychoactive drugs many of them have been taking might have something to do with their violent actions; as someone recently suggested, actually act as some sort of “disinhibitor”–making it easier for them to move from violent thoughts to violent action. *

    * See https://joehoft.com/covering-up-the-behavioral-health-links-to-mass-murders-and-assassinations/

  39. As to #1; Just last week I was yelling at a black man cause he had an Afro….Oh, wait. That didn’t happen, why? Because I and most of America DON’T CARE.

  40. I have a feeling that Summers will soon be desperately asking Eric Swalwell for HIS advice on how to get out of certain jams of an, um, delicate variety…

    To be sure, there’s probably no need for Summers to do this—all he really has to do is “stand athwart history” and shriek vicious anti-Trump imprecations from the rooftops of Harvard’s hallowed (if hollowed-out) halls…

    (Alas for him, Summers Agonistes is neither the right gender nor the appropriate race, which means that that that gambit will likely not work as well as it would otherwise… )
