The Kirk assassination: were there accessories before the fact and/or accessories after the fact? [scroll down for UPDATE] — 26 Comments

  1. I haven’t read anything that gives much context to this; for example, what possible reason would there be to assume it was a joke…

I have seen, and occasionally perpetrated, what you might call a “long form” joke in a comments section or a forum, where you pretend to be doing something and you’re giving updates on it. For example, there was one I remember from long, long ago, about a gentleman who claimed his testicles were trapped between the slats of a lawn chair and was asking for advice. It was a very long and hilarious thread, though somewhat immature.

It is possible that someone might have thought a series of messages about Charlie Kirk’s murder were intended as a black humor version of the same thing, but realized later it was completely serious.

  2. As for the “predictions” I don’t know what to make of that yet. People like Charlie Kirk have a schedule that’s known in advance, and it’s really easy to pop off anonymously about something happening on a certain date that you don’t say what it is and appear to have foreknowledge–which I’m sure some folks are about to bitterly regret having done.

It would be interesting to know how many of Kirk’s other appearances, or how often someone else the Left hated who’d visit campuses like Charles Murray or Milo Yiannopolos, had the same sort of commentary about something bad happening on a date they were expected to appear somewhere, but nothing actually happened.

  3. I hadn’t realized the extent to which Michael Fortier was a participant in the bombing.
    ==
My guess is you’ll probably find a couple of people aside from Robinson who were legally culpable for this and that.

  4. The OKC bombing was, iirc, the high-water mark of the yelling about the “lone wolf” perpetrator; an individual acting alone after being encouraged by neo-nazi propaganda suggesting all manner of violence but not, actually, planning or participating in it.
Sauce for the goose…. At best.

  5. …what possible reason would there be to assume it was a joke….

    To CYA.
    (But will it work…?)

  6. @ Niketas > “it’s really easy to pop off anonymously about something happening on a certain date that you don’t say what it is and appear to have foreknowledge–which I’m sure some folks are about to bitterly regret having done.

The scattering of predictions and then only publicizing the ones that “worked” is the mainstay of most “psychics” and fortune-tellers.
And not a few pundits and politicians.

However, regardless of whether the online groups/individuals were just popping off, or seriously complicit, whatever the authorities discover should be made public as soon as feasible (with redactions if a court case will be needed) in an attempt to forestall the continued conspiracy theories that will take even deeper root if there is just a dismissal of the investigation without disclosing all the evidence for doing so.

  7. Interesting that you mention Milo, who has pretty much disappeared from the venues I read after his popularity crashed and burned back in the Trump 45 era.
I saw his name connected to something about the Kirk investigation just a day or so ago, but don’t recall the source.

  8. My concern is whether any Deep State people, in the FBI or elsewhere, will be able to cover up any possible ties to Antifa or other evildoers. I suppose, if there was a conspiracy, the low level patsies will take the fall, and the higher ups will escape justice.

Neo, why do you write that Robinson’s roommate, Lance Twiggs, was “perhaps his trans lover”? Utah governor Spencer Cox said “The roommate was a romantic partner, a male transitioning to female.”

  9. it was part of the deplatforming of unorthodox speakers, in the years before 2020, in part because he represented a viable community that Trump appealed to, they rather effectively purged him, so then you have this cohort of deeply malajusted people,

  10. @AesopFan:Interesting that you mention Milo who has pretty much disappeared from the venues I read

I only mentioned him because I don’t know who goes to talk at campuses these days; I know Milo used to do that, but I don’t think he was ever in it for anything but grift, and I tuned him out long before he dropped away.

  11. @Selfy:Neo, why do you write that Robinson’s roommate, Lance Twiggs, was “perhaps his trans lover”?

I think this is wisdom on her part because what we’re told seems to change several times a day, and it’s not as though authorities are infallible, or their words always reported correctly, or paraphrased by bloggers and commenters correctly.

I always keep in mind the Washington D. C. snipers, who we were told was a white loner for weeks, and Richard Jewell who was wrongly linked in the press with the Centennial Olympic Park bombings. And do you know what the result of those lawsuits was?

In July, the Georgia Court of Appeals upheld a trial court ruling that stated the newspaper accurately reported that Jewell was a key suspect in the bombing.

That ruling said the newspaper made it clear Jewell, who later was cleared, was only a suspect in an ongoing investigation. The newspaper even included information that questioned law enforcement’s focus on him, the ruling noted.

Not the media’s fault, oh no: they put the narrative on page one and the caveats on page A57, that’s all, and if we take away the wrong idea shame on us.

  12. Further investigation by the “Feds” which I assume means basically the FBI will be conducting these “investigations.”.

That gives me no confidence whatsoever.

The Washington DC “Pipe Bomber” has not been found.

  13. @ John Galt III – the Pipe Bomber has not been revealed to the public, which is slightly different from not been found.
OTOH, the pipe bomber may never have been lost IYKWIM.

  14. I think it was Andy Ngo that advanced, or at least reported, the theory that Robinson could have been motivated by a desire to be more appealing to his roommate/possible romantic partner.

I’ve also started wondering about the meaning of the Discord ‘confession’ in a couple of specific directions. The wording to me sounds like he is formulating statements that deliberately imply the recipients had no prior knowledge of his actions, which could be read as a tell that they actually did. Why would he say “It was me at UVU” rather than “I was at UVU”. You could make a case that he might be using passive phrasing to disassociate from the event, however. I also have to wonder if his roommate and friends might have discovered Robinson’s familiarity with firearms and then encouraged him in executing the plan to murder Kirk. You could also read his confession as a somewhat heroic “I’m not going to snitch so don’t cooperate, too” which it appears his roommate immediately ignored.

  15. The brave and indefatigable reporter on the far Left, Andy Ngo, explains Tyler Robinson’s lover is definitely trans.

“Charlie Kirk Assassin Suspect’s Alleged Lover Is Confirmed to Be Trans” https://www.ngocomment.com/p/unmasking-luna-charlie-kirk-assassin

This is a sad read, and I feel sympathy. Both young men outcasts because of religion (the LDS believe in family reunification in Heaven), who would have made a viable adaptation to just be gay men, had not the insidious far Left ambitions taken over. And if, perhaps, the gynocracy disparaged and undermined alternative masculinity for both of them.

  16. @ TJ – To clarify the position of the LDS church, same sex attraction does not cause people to be outcasts from the Church (individual reactions are individual choices) and is not a determinant of family unification; there are other conditions that affect that.

Here are the official church positions and policies.
For comparison, my heterosexual bachelor son is also asked to remain chaste in his relationships with his female friends.

    https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/official-statement/same-gender-attraction

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints acknowledges that same-sex attraction is a sensitive issue that requires kindness, compassion and understanding. The “Same-Sex Attraction” section of ChurchofJesusChrist.org reinforces the reality that, in the words of one Latter-day Saint scripture, God “loveth his children” (1 Nephi 11:17), and seeks to help everyone better understand same-sex attraction from a gospel perspective.

The Church does not take a position on the cause of same-sex attraction. In 2006, Elder Dallin H. Oaks said, “The Church does not have a position on the causes of any of these susceptibilities or inclinations, including those related to same-gender attraction.”

Feelings of same-sex attraction are not a sin. President M. Russell Ballard said: “Let us be clear: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believes that ‘the experience of same-sex attraction is a complex reality for many people. The attraction itself is not a sin, but acting on it is. Even though individuals do not choose to have such attractions, they do choose how to respond to them. With love and understanding, the Church reaches out to all God’s children, including [those with same-sex attraction].’”

While same-sex attraction is not a sin, it can be a challenge. While one may not have chosen to have these feelings, he or she can commit to keep God’s commandments. The parent of a child who experiences same-sex attraction or identifies as gay should choose to love and embrace that child. As a community of Church members, Latter-day Saints should create a welcoming environment.

Those who experience same-sex attraction or identify as gay can fully participate in the Church. As a Church policy says, “If members feel same-sex attraction and are striving to live the law of chastity, leaders support and encourage them in their resolve. These members may receive Church callings, hold temple recommends, and receive temple ordinances if they are worthy. Male Church members may receive and exercise the priesthood. The circumstances of some faithful members do not allow them to receive the blessings of eternal marriage and parenthood in this life. They will receive all promised blessings in the eternities, provided they keep the covenants they have made with God (see Mosiah 2:41).”

  17. The FBI is focusing on some 20 people connected to the to Tyler Robinson through online communities. What follows gets wild and wooly.

Monday night, in particular, something has come to explosive attention, and that is the leader of Armed Queers of Salt Lake City, Ermiya Fanaeian — a trans Palestinian. Armed Queers of SLC is self-declared as a Marxist-Leninist revolutionary organization, with a militant hatred of oppressors in the SJW-type Identity Politics model.

Here’s where the Biden can of slush fund spending gets opened up, and his (and Obama’s?) Administration advancing radical agendas explodes into view. This leads to questions such as “was USAID funding involved? Through NGOs or not? Or just through the US State Department?”

Ermiya Fanaeian was recognized by a State Department affiliated NGO, Utah Global Diplomacy, as a recipient of the “7 for 17” Award for advancing the UN’s 17 Goals. She “is a Trans liberation and Feminist political organizer whose work has included organizing around the abortion struggle and creating research studying the conditions of gender oppressed people at the hands of state institutions.” https://www.instagram.com/p/ChsPs5vOntG/

Per the 990 form with Utah Global Diplomacy (EIN 876128308), the nonprofit is a partner with the US State Department to cultivate emerging leaders and diplomacy initiatives.

In other words, Ermiya Fanaeian was selected to “help shape U.S. Foreign relations.” Their words, not mine. Utah Global Diplomacy reports receiving most of its income in government grants.

SLC Armed Queers is not “adjacent” to the honor that Ermiya Fanaeian got from Utah Global Diplomacy. It was directly involved. Utah Global Diplomacy specifically awarded her for her work with trans people, and SLC Armed Queers is the key organization. Which leads us back to probable Charlie Kirk killer Tyler Robinson who was active in this group.

Fanaeian leads the organization called “Armed Queers Salt Lake City” (AQSLC), a group that combines armed self-defense with LGBT activism and communist militancy, with the goal of “promoting a broader struggle against capitalism and state violence,” according to a publication by the organization.”

They are not isolated but part of the Obama led fundamental change of America mission. Online poster “I finnegan” has called the far Left Democrat Party really the Rainbow-flag Cartel Party and they ruled and spread radical roots after the 2020 steal. They do not believe the US is a legitimate country.

If my account seems too convoluted to grasp, try reading the article at the LINK. It’s more linear and adds radical communist details.

  18. I expect federal indictments for misprision of felony for some of these trans people.

Andy McCarthy was on Fox and Friends recently and said it won’t happen.

  19. misprision — the deliberate concealment of one’s knowledge of a treasonable act or a felony.

    Learned a new word today!

    Thanks, Cornhead.

  20. @ TJ – Newsmax:

Bongino confirmed much of the evidence came from the chat platform Discord, where suspected gunman Tyler Robinson, 22, was active.

“It is not a safe harbor to go on a platform and say, ‘I can threaten to kill or harass someone,'” Bongino said. “We’ll go anywhere to look for you if we believe you committed a crime.”

Bongino stressed the investigation is in its early stages.

I’m torn between knowing where the FBI got their information (NOT out of a campaign-funded fairy-tale dossier!), but also upset that people are getting cautioned to keep their conspiracies off of social media platforms and communication systems.

On the other hand, that word of advice has been known for quite some time and they still do it, including “sophisticated elites” who run their conspiracies on their email accounts.
Such as those connected to a campaign-funded fairy-tale dossier

  21. Bonus: Bongino is on fire about shutting down the violent crime in most major cities, including those which rejected Federal help in cracking down on the criminals – they are going to get it anyway.
(paraphrase) “Why do they want to be a safe harbor for violent crime?”
The plan is to to make lists from outstanding warrants, “baseball card them,” and bring them in.

  22. @AesopFan:I’m torn between knowing where the FBI got their information (NOT out of a campaign-funded fairy-tale dossier!), but also upset that people are getting cautioned to keep their conspiracies off of social media platforms and communication systems.

There’s not much to say about this, if the government has a valid reason these platforms will turn over whatever information they have. And sometimes if there’s not a valid reason, I assume. Welcome to the Panopticon State, we’ll be here for some time.

There’s platforms hosted in another country and encrypted end-to-end, but that just adds a a couple of extra steps really. Probably not much good if they want to go after you personally.
