  1. LOL, I was just going to comment on Omar, Neo is way ahead. What a sleazeball she is. Not that we didn’t know it before. Of course the MSM will never mention this and I doubt any local MN outlets will either.

  2. I am very afraid that Rep will not come out and vote next year. The effort to get Rep to vote needs to start now. The Dems are and will be fired up to vote against Trump, and any Rep is Trump in their eyes. We cannot afford to lose in 2026.

  3. (1) CBS does what it does best – deceptive editing.

Neo, you want to see more deceptive editing? How about this 11 year old shot during ding dong ditch prank In this version of the story they left out something. If you actually google this you find out from other sources that the 11 year old was doing this 11 pm at night. (Which seems an important fact to me.)

  4. I wonder if Mynett got a pre-nup before the marriage. Islamic law would make this fortune his, not hers; hers would be from her congressional salary and campaign account. American law, without a pre-nup, would favor Omar. She probably chooses whatever rule will benefit her the most.

  5. Shirehome,

I agree that the GOP has to get out the vote next year. I take it as a good sign that red states are pushing redistricting. I assume it’s Trump pushing the staid GOP to look ahead more. He knows that things are tough enough now with judicial activism. If the GOP loses either house, then it’s game over, the bad guys win.

A year is an incredibly long time in politics. Who knows what the US and the world will look like next September.

  6. 1) “Secretary Noem’s ‘Face The Nation’ interview was edited for time and met all CBS News standards.”

Setting a new standard in dishonesty, liberal/leftist journalists have reached the depths frequented by used car salesmen, ambulance chasing lawyers and forked tongue politicians.

    (2) “Scott Pressler warns that the 2025 elections will go poorly for Republicans if voters on the right fail to embrace and use early voting and mail-in voting.”

No substitute for Trump beating the get-out-the-vote drum. Brief & to the point ads on Youtube, ABC, CBS, NBC, etc.

    4) At best, Illinois Gov. Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Johnson are derelict in their duty. At worst, they are guilty of complicity.

    5) “the figures in Omar’s latest disclosures show that her and her husband’s net worth skyrocketed by at least 3,500 percent in just one year.”

Nancy Pelosi must have given Omar some hot investment tips.

  7. Re #2: I support Presler’s work, and I get what he is saying. At the same time, I hear a bit of Chicken Little. Any Republican who is concerned about important elections is going to vote, barring unforeseen circumstances. On my way to vote one year, a deer hit my car. This was one time out of maybe 25 elections I voted in.

It also depends on one’s location, how honest the elections are there, etc. Also, if votes could be stolen using broken printers, etc., couldn’t mail-in/early votes also be stolen somehow?

Re #4: Most of these shootings are by black, and to a lesser extent, Hispanic people. Sorry if the truth hurts (not sorry). Blacks and Hispanics, stop shooting people! Problem solved.

  8. Thanks for that link regarding the Westman family, Miguel. It is sobering if not heartbreaking.

  9. Republicans, if you do not embrace early voting and mail-in voting for the upcoming Tuesday, November 4th, 2025 election, you will lose everything, and that’s gonna set us up for failure in 2026.

If you are loyal to President Trump, if you are loyal to keeping the House, if you are loyal to keeping the Senate, then you do everything in your power to elect Republicans in PA, VA, and NJ this November. … Who’s gonna help?

    –Scott Pressler
    https://legalinsurrection.com/2025/08/activist-who-helped-deliver-pa-to-trump-warns-gop-could-lose-everything-in-november/

However, Pressler offers no evidence that the GOP is asleep at the wheel when it comes to early/mail-in voting. The word I kept hearing was that in 2024 the GOP upped its game in that regard and that was part of Trump’s victory. Has that changed?

Also, I question his claim that 2025 losses in PA, VA, and NJ set up Republican’s to lose the much more important midterms in 2026.

It wouldn’t be good news, of course, but there is so much going on in our current patch of history, my bet is that 2026 will mostly be determined, as Harold Macmillan said, by “events. dear boy, events.”

Don’t get cocky and all that, but count me adjacent to Selfy’s suspicion that Pressler is playing a bit of Chicken Little here.

  10. As I wrote, I support Presler’s work. Of course his work needs financial support, and he is fundraising (nothing wrong with that).

BTW, there is only one ‘S’ in Presler, and I’ve heard it pronounced Press-ler, not Prez-ler.

  11. However, Pressler offers no evidence that the GOP is asleep at the wheel when it comes to early/mail-in voting. The word I kept hearing was that in 2024 the GOP upped its game in that regard and that was part of Trump’s victory. Has that changed?

We can’t be sure either way until the election happens.

Off-year elections tend to go badly for the party in power by the nature of things. Human beings respond to the negative. The party in power is always having to make compromises, some people have to lose. Even successes are always imperfect.

The out-party has the luxury of anger and fury without having to worry about practical problems of actually governing.

Thus the in-party usually loses ground in the off-years. But not always. Dubya led the GOP to three successive upset wins, in 2000, 2002, and 2004. Even the off-year election went for the GOP. So it can be done.

  12. @HC68,

I hate to break it to you, buddy, but Dubya had extraordinary luck, like win the Powerball jackpot luck. 2000 happened because his brother was the governor of the tipping point state, where his supporters made up most of the legislature, his friend was in charge of counting the votes, and his dad’s friends made up the majority of the US Supreme Court, plus there was the bone headed “butterfly ballot”. 2002 and 2004 happened because of 9/11. 2006 was politics returning to normal.

Sorry, Charlie. That empress ain’t gonna die again.

  13. These have been flag waving “raise the colors” demonstrations in several cities in the UK, and Tommy Robinson is talking about a major demo to be held in London on the 13th, which may bring out tens, or even hundreds of thousands of native British unmistakably demonstrating their anger at government policies.*

One wonders if the Starmer government is going to try to stop or somehow stifle what may be a mass repudiation of that government and it’s policies?

  14. It’s amazing that any supporter of Trump or any dumbpublican thinks that they will get fair and unbiased treatment if they agree to be interviewed by the MSM.

Kristi Noem should have told CBS to F – off when approached by CBS.

Let’s see; 3,500 % gain in one year.
So, if you start with $1 and one later you have $36, your gain is 3,500%

To put this into perspective, not even Warren Buffet – considered by many to be one of the greatest investors or all time – NEVER achieved in ONE year a net worth increase of this magnitude.
And, by the way, no prominent hedge fund manager – regardless of their level of experience – has accomplished a one year rate of return of this magnitude.

So, how did Omar do this?
There are only two possibilities; she under-reported in the past her true net worth or she is accepting payoffs / bribes.
Regardless, she is a democrat, so she is immune from prosecution or even investigation; and she knows this.

    How does she know this?

Well, Nancy Pelosi’s increase in net worth – not even close to increasing
by 3500% in one year – has shown annual increases in net worth exceeding !! that of any top hedge fund manager.
Of course, she has accomplished this via “insider trading.” That is, just prior to any legislation that will affect a company or business segment, she buys/sells/ sells short , etc., publicly held stocks that will be affected by the legislation.
And because she is a demonkrat, she is never investigated.

The dumbpublicans, as usual, may bring this sort of malfeasance to the public’s attention, but then proceed to do nothing at all.

  15. 1. Not a word about Omar’s net worth turnaround in the Star Tribune.

    2. She owns a marital interest in a winery. She’s a Muslim.

  16. @ Cornhead > “2. She owns a marital interest in a winery. She’s a Muslim.”
    When it’s convenient.
However, if she doesn’t herself drink, business is business.

@ JohnTyler > “she is accepting payoffs / bribes.”
    Of course not.
Just like the Clinton’s receiving donations to their foundation were not accepting payoffs or bribes.
    Business is business, right?

  17. Regarding Scott Presler, I admire his tireless work. But I didn’t vote for Donald Trump and the rest of the Republicans I could vote for in November, dust off my hands and say, “That’s it for four years.”

I live in Minnesota and will vote for Republicans any time they give me a chance. I’ll be there in November 2026, even though I live in a very blue district. I also don’t think the GOP or its voters are asleep at the wheel. We’re watching Trump’s successes while realizing it could have been Kamala screwing things up for another four years if we hadn’t shown up. We also know Democrats can no longer be trusted with executive power (not to mention legislative or judicial), and that from here on out, every election is a Flight 93 election.

Also: successes. Trump is doing a great job. Even with what happened in the past, I don’t see success hurting the Republicans in the midterms, only complacency, and I don’t see that as a problem. Maybe Presler does, but he’s only in Pennsylvania, a swing state. I’m loath to think the state of play should put us in crisis mode. Yet.

  18. @ physicsguy – We OCD grammar mavens get our jollies where we can.

Take a look at a book called “Eats, shoots & leaves” by Lynne Truss, just for fun.
It is mostly about punctuation, not unfortunate antecedents, but it’s hilarious.

  19. AesopFan and physicsguy:
Funny how we can fill in the blank spaces when we want to or need to — for better or ill.
I understood or “heard” the words “Neo is way ahead” as our hostess is way ahead in understanding how bad Omar is. And I also still understood the second “sleazeball she” as referring to Omar.

I have found my arthritis and age seem to be contributing to much worse typing now than when I was younger. Possibly some flawed thinking as well. 🙁
Thank goodness for spell checkers, as far as they take you, but I fear even with an attempt at a “proof read” before sending, sometimes errors are still conveyed.
