Celebrating child murder; knocking prayer — 35 Comments

  1. I understand the frustration, it comes from a place of thinking that there is something really obvious that can and should be done, but no one is doing it, just saying “thoughts and prayers” after the thing happens that easily could have prevented, if only there were Common Sense Transgender Control.

Well, that’s not how THEY would have finished the paragraph. The solution they are looking for is very different, but like I said I understand where a lot of the frustration is coming from.

If you think that getting rid of guns would end gun violence, and if you think the people who say “thoughts and prayers” are people who oppose getting rid of guns, then you might be cynical about the motives of people who say such things and frustrated with hearing it, especially if you actually care about the violence.

I feel the same way about the people who say “diversity is our strength” after some Person of Approved Diversity kills a whole bunch of non-diverse people, especially when said Approved Diversity was imported…

But so much we see online is just performance art, and a lot of it intended for political effect anyway, it’s never easy to tell what people really think or how prevalent those real thoughts are.

  2. have you seen gavin newsom, and christian bale, in the same room, bale is older than when he played patrick bateman, the sociopathic banker,

recall kamalas jibe toward the church group, the bronx cheer in the 2012 DNC convention, the Bureau investigating Catholic Churches as if they were Al Queda. when they tell you who they are listening,

I think the term is paralepsis, when the word means two different things to the same people, transgender is the most wonderful thing in the world, but you can’t point out when they go bezerker, no one knows the motive in that case, same with Salafi gentlemen and ladies, the shooter seems to have the same animus as Hamasniks, even though they would stone him without a moments thought,

the brotherhood adjuncts like wajahat ali formerly of cair, holds the same contempt for Christians and Jews,

and one can’t forgAet how a certain cohort acted against another earnest person of faith, 17 years ago, not only from anonymous persons on erstwhile jezebel, but from the likes of Sandra Bernhardt and Sean Combs, then a a person of some regard then, when he was a useful tool

Aaron Tractor Rupar is one of those minders, I don’t think we can really call him an influencer,

  3. Newsom and all the others making an issue of praying are doing so exclusively for political purposes, explicitly to advance a political agenda, in this case gun control and ultimately the outlawing of private gun ownership. That they think this is not obvious and that their rhetoric will advance their goal establishes their ignorance and stupidity. I think Karoline Levitt’s call out of Jen Psaki, “insensitive and disrespectful” is the best response.

  4. oh yes indeed, she’s a tour de force,

again I refer to the Old Gods of the Levant and the Euphrates, that Jonathan Cahn has brought us to the attention, Moloch Baal Ashtarte, Baphomet,* i’m not sure who the Golden Bull, that they were worshipping in Canaan was suppose to represent,

we are fighting not merely against men
(and women) but principalities and powers of the air,

each diety seems to represent a part of the Democratic coalition,

  5. Newsom is a truly pathetic individual. I assume he believes this sort of drivel will put him ahead in the 2028 Democrat primary sweepstakes, and he may be right. At this point it appears as if the core voter base of the current Democrat party wants their potential presidential candidates to appear as if they’re resisting Trump as vociferously, crudely, and even shockingly as possible. It doesn’t matter if such behavior has very broad appeal. In fact, actually having broad appeal may be seen as a negative. They only have eyes for edgelords and jacobins. I’m reminded of the “It’s a bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off for them” meme.

  6. Gender confusion and a culture that entertains, celebrates abortive ideation is a toxic combination.

  7. First Leftists, read Marxists, H8 western religion followed Marx. They love to rub anything they think religion doesn’t do.
Second the killing could have been worse so very possibly prayers worked.
IMK prayer works in possible life ending situation to make peace with God.

You assume the goal of gun control is to reduce death. No, it’s just about control.

I’ve been following the gun control debate since at least the 70’s as a kid, and it is obvious to me that those who are seriously pushing it don’t care about saving lives. Like Obama, who’s DOJ was running guns to cartels, with the likely intent of producing a reason for gun control.

Now, the low info type Dems and Independents that might generally support gun control to some extent, do so because they think it might do some good. The serious types pushing it have other reasons and don’t care if it saves lives or not.

  9. @Don:You assume the goal of gun control is to reduce death. No, it’s just about control.

Talking about politicians, I agree, but not when it comes to normies. Their support for gun control varies, but it’s usually along the lines of “there oughta be a law”. Just as you say here:

Now, the low info type Dems and Independents that might generally support gun control to some extent, do so because they think it might do some good.

  10. Yes, but the hard core antigun activists with maybe a few (stupid) exceptions realize it won’t accomplish what they want.

Those that actually think it would work are the normies who think it’s a good idea but they are not particularly invested in it.

One advantage the pro gun side has had is lots of normal people who seriously oppose gun control. The anti gun side is a small group of people, who have weak support from a large number of low info normies. That group of normies has shrunk since the 90s.

  11. Leftists only want disarmament of the citizens so they get control no one can stop them.

  12. there are plenty of law, notably the assault weapons ban, did not stop columbine or that incident in arkansas, or a host of others, the head of the ATF in one of the hearings could not identify an assault weapon, we know the former was a reaction to Colin Ferguson, as the latest rules were about Uvalde, where dereliction of duty by law enforcement, certainly played a part, same with Parkland three years before. that was malpractice on a grand scale,

Frost comes from one of the blue hells, ORlando, in the very red state of Florida, the county on which it sits is under scrutiny by our own local version of DOGE,
a wannabe member of the squad,

  13. Newsom is our next president. The people of color counting the ballots in the major cities of the swing states will not stop counting the ballots force fed to them until he wins

    Soberge:

Don’t count on it. Trump has won 2 out of 3 in spite of Dem fraud.

It won’t be easier in 2028.

  14. @miguel cervantes:there are plenty of law

You know that, I know that, but normie doesn’t know that, unless he’s a gun guy.

Ken White had a very good analogy for this, suppose someone wanted laws banning “attack dogs”:

Me: I don’t want to take away dog owners’ rights. But we need to do something about Rottweilers.
You: So what do you propose?
Me: I just think that there should be some sort of training or restrictions on owning an attack dog.
You: Wait. What’s an “attack dog?”
Me: You know what I mean. Like military dogs.
You: Huh? Rottweilers aren’t military dogs. In fact “military dogs” isn’t a thing. You mean like German Shepherds?
Me: Don’t be ridiculous. Nobody’s trying to take away your German Shepherds. But civilians shouldn’t own fighting dogs.
You: I have no idea what dogs you’re talking about now.
Me: You’re being both picky and obtuse. You know I mean hounds.
    You: What the fuck.
Me: OK, maybe not actually ::air quotes:: hounds ::air quotes::. Maybe I have the terminology wrong. I’m not obsessed with vicious dogs like you. But we can identify kinds of dogs that civilians just don’t need to own.
    You: Can we?

Because I’m just talking out of my ass, the impression I convey is that I want to ban some arbitrary, uninformed category of dogs that I can’t articulate. Are you comfortable that my rule is going to be drawn in a principled, informed, narrow way?

  15. ken white lost his ever loving mind since then, but when he was sane,

Lewis Carroll did not have enough imagination,

against I speak to the spiritual dimensions of this, apart from the textual matters,

a variation on harrington, if evil doth prosper, do they still recognize it as a evil

  16. The democrat party is directly responsible for the great majority of gun crime & the mass murders because they’ve fostered the dysfunctional cultural ‘norms’ that have given rise to the excessive violence in America.

  17. From Powerline – Democrats running true to form.
Politicize everything while claiming you are not being political.

    https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2025/08/a-disgraceful-vigil.php

“Last night, the City of Minneapolis–the Democratic Party–held a “vigil” for the victims of Robin Westman’s attack on Annunciation School. There was an actual memorial service earlier at Annunciation that was attended by families and others associated with the church and the school. The City’s event, essentially a political rally, was held nearby at Lynnhurst Park.

The speakers were a parade of DFL notables. You can view the event here. While all the speakers expressed sympathy for Westman’s victims, the killer himself was never mentioned. Rather, it was a gun control rally. Every speaker sounded the same theme: we can stop gun violence, all we need is political will. More gun control is the answer, Republicans are the problem.”

    Quotes from the usual suspects.

  18. as they let loose the bezerkers, like hale and westman, and the other slithy toves that lurk from portland to amarillo, the trantifa so called,

red flag laws was what I thinking of, but the subject would have to be identified as crazy, in that milieu only those who object are crazy,

  19. A few thoughts:

    1) I don’t think most conservatives, including most people here, understand just how much the left hates them. They don’t merely disagree with you. They don’t merely want to defeat you. They hate you and want to destroy you. They will burn your house down and kill you the moment they think they’ll get away with it. The violence we’re seeing so far is mostly from leftists who don’t care if they don’t get away with it. It will get much, much worse as the left cements control.

    2) This is a very ominous sign. Not the internet randos — they’ve been filled with hatred for a while now — but mainstream Democrats such as Newsom and Psaki are now openly mocking Christians and Christianity.

Newsom is running for president in 2028 — he is probably the frontrunner — and flipped into campaign mode a few weeks ago. That he feels that he can openly mock 2/3rds of the country and still win suggests that the Democrats can steal the presidency without their support. Worse, the contempt it shows suggests a Democrat victory will bring with it an occupation government at war with its country’s normies like we’re seeing in Britain, Ireland, and Europe.

Again, I don’t think many people understand the gravity of the situation. It is not an academic exercise.

  20. In today’s polling, exactly 0.4% of Democrats are satisfied with the direction of the country, as opposed to 76% of Republicans. They will be motivated for midterms, and the quality of the candidates will be a secondary consideration.

What kind of politician is comfortable mocking those who would extend condolences to the victims and their families on the day of such an event? What kind of politician would turn this into the sardonic delivery of taunts directed at those who show sympathy / empathy? What @mkent said is true: They hate you and want to destroy you. They are open about it. Take them at their word, and be vigilant with their followers.

  21. FWIW, the precinct in which the church is located voted 88% for Kamala Harris last fall. The families of the victims of this crime are most likely gun control supporters, not “deplorables,” clinging to God and guns, as the bizarre Reddit posters would have it.

  22. Gun control debating point: a favorite example is Australia’s ban about 25 years ago. WE can do it too!

Except that not that many years on, there are now more legal guns in Australia than before the ban!

  23. I think we have real clear that we know they hate us, why they not Putin are the real enemy as the Labour Party was at the end of the Cold War

Yes they are dissatisfied they wallow in disaster in misery in filth whats new about that

In a reasonable transparent system thsre wouldnt be a problem but the judges seem to be mucking it up

The aclu seems to challenging the texas redistricting with their designated judge we shall see how that goes

  24. TJ… and quite frankly… Australia is knee deep in illegal guns. Howard’s ill-advised government-gun thievery just disarmed the law abiding.

  25. I don’t think most conservatives, including most people here, understand just how much the left hates them.

    mkent:

I doubt it. In any event you don’t speak for this ex-leftist.

  26. @neo: …the goal was one of the left’s favorites: to use the murders to advance gun control.

Sadly true. During the Obama administration I once had an online discussion with some New Agey leftists who were all horrified by the idea of arming guards and schoolteachers to protect the children.

Guns are the problem. Guns can’t be the answer!

Why not, I asked. I just want to see all American children protected as well as Obama’s children at their fancy prep school.

    Crickets.

  27. What can you expect, Newsom, & Co’s understanding of the Divine does not even reach kindergarten level.
Prayer doesn’t change God. It changes me. C.S. Lewis

  28. “we can stop gun violence”
Guns are inanimate objects. I have no idea how inanimate objects become violent but liberals do and want to prevent this from happening by bans. Are you sure that even if the inanimate objects are banned, they will not become violent?

  29. Even though governments with guns were responsible for almost all of the ‘gun violence’ and the millions of deaths in the 20th Century, we never hear these people demand that governments be disarmed.
    Why is that?

  30. The Lefty proposals and goals are never about whatever the pretext is. The don’t want gun control to stop shootings, they want the public disarmed.

Remember when you’re dealing with the hard-core Lefties that they hate you. Don’t hate them back. That feeds the beast and taints you. But never forget that you’re dealing with someone who hates you and everything you love.

Which also means that engaging with this stuff as if it was a reasoned debate is futile. The Democrats spouting this crap fall into two categories:

    1. Sincere Leftists seething with rage and hate, and
    2. Politicians who know we’re just a few months from primaries and want to keep their base in line.

Either way there’s nothing to engage with. Does Schumer believe the stuff he’s saying? Probably not, the man is many things but none of them are stupid. But you can’t rebut him in debate because the truth is irrelevant to the politics.

Reflecting on that picture of the 12 (or 14?) year old Scottish girl brandishing an ax and a knife, and that she has been (really or supposedly?) put in jail, rather than the (presumed) scuzz bag taunting her, it seems the more violent and animated objects are the police or other “adults” who are failing to protect their underage children.
[Given the scams on the internet, there is a small part of me that wonders if that video clip was not a staged event???]

” … we never hear these people demand that governments be disarmed.”
When we hear defenses of the 2nd Amendment, many times they address the natural right of self protection (or that of others in direct peril); but it seems to me too seldom is the right of revolution and government change mentioned explicitly. For me, an image I retain to support my view is that of the armed Chekists coming up the back stairs of a Moscow tenement to take away a known or suspected dissident. The presumption is that would be more easily resisted if/when said dissident and all of his neighbors can shoot back. Why isn’t this or a similar image invoked more frequently in support of the 2nd Amendment?
What is the adage? The government should fear the people; the people should not fear their government!
