Prof. Tal Dvir, head of the Sagol Center for Regenerative Biotechnology and the Nanotechnology Center at Tel Aviv University, said his research team is now able to engineer a spinal cord that functions exactly like a natural one by implanting 3D-engineered tissue into the damaged area.
Fusion then occurs between the new tissue and the healthy areas above and below the injury that will end the paralysis. […]
Dvir said that the researchers start the process with a small biopsy from the belly.
They then take these blood cells and perform a process known as reprogramming — genetic engineering that transforms the cells into embryonic stem cell-like cells, capable of developing into any cell type in the body.
In the next step, the scientists take fatty tissue from the patient, extract key components such as collagens and sugars, and build a customized hydrogel. The embryonic stem cell-like cells are placed in this gel, and the embryonic development of a spinal cord is mimicked.

Later I deduced that the women’s bathroom was closed for cleaning, so they used the men’s bathroom next door, and perhaps didn’t notice me in the stall when they entered. They also may have been Europeans; perhaps they have a different take on bathroom privacy than I do.
A cougar killed a deer in the neighbors driveway last night. Probably was the cougar we saw in our yard a few weeks ago. This is getting spicy. Just 100-200 feet away.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) signed legislation Thursday evening to create new congressional maps designed by the Democrat-dominated legislature to eliminate half of the state’s Republican-held seats.
The so-called “Election Rigging Response Act” consists of bills that were stripped of their existing language, and filled with redistricting language, to evade a state requirement that legislation wait 30 days for approval.
In doing so, Newsom and the Democrats set aside the state’s nominally independent redistricting commission, which was established by the voters in 2008 (and which is gamed by Democrats anyway).

John Bolton’s house in Bethesda, Maryland was raided by the FBI this early Friday morning. Bolton served in the National Security Council under Trump during the Presidents first year.
The rumor is that this involves possession of classified documents.
Bolton was seen conversing with Agents in the scene, and an FBI vehicle was seen leaving with papers inside, says FNC.
Byron York suggests that this might be a revival of a classified document dispute arising from when Bolton left the NSA and wrote his scathing account of his time there.
Bolton has not been arrested.
“No ons is above the law.” Kash Patel wrote on X.com just as the raid commenced.
