  1. 80 years ago, the worst war up to that point, was on the verge of ending, although it took one more iteration, the likes of stalinist like gar alperovitz, succeeded for a time in Tarnishing these facts,

  2. In yesterday’s WSJ

Hamas Starves Jews and Palestinians, and Israel Gets Blamed
    https://archive.md/c8yHA

The only thing Hamas likes better than a starving Jew is a starving Gazan child. Both are useful for their ends. The former horrifies a credulous world so it puts international pressure on the Israeli government to end the combat. The latter taunts Israeli hostage families so they put similar pressure on the government. If there were a Goebbels prize for propaganda, Hamas would win it every year. It should be a source of shame that so much of the West’s media is gulled or persuaded into playing the Leni Riefenstahl part in the campaign.

  3. Gerard Baker is a moron, for only an extreme dullard would fail to mention Egypt refuses to open its border to refugees, then go on to assign the blame to Israel. No. He, like his “informant” Eyal, aims to do damage to Netanyahu. That is their purpose. Fuck them.

  4. @sdferr:only an extreme dullard would fail to mention Egypt refuses to open its border to refugees, then go on to assign the blame to Israel

Both Egypt and Jordan control their borders with the Occupied Territories and both maintain Palestinians in refugee camps, the conditions of which we mysteriously never hear anything about in Western media.

  5. If only that was the biggest issue vis-a-vis Egypt.

Those dozens of tunnels—of all sizes—between the northeast Sinai Peninsula (IOW, Egypt) and the Gaza Strip, otherwise known as the “Philadelphia Corridor”, was the supply route for much of Hamas’s weaponry, ammunition and materiel.

Put another way, Egyptian officials and/or tribes enriched themselves immensely by turning a blind eye to the huge amount of weapons, and people—and more—smuggled under that border.

Someone (or many) was/were making a whole lotta money over the years allowing that to happen.

One can only conclude that it all falls under the category of [just another] “Peace Dividend”(TM)….

  6. Those dozens of tunnels…

Yes. Exactly. And lest we forget, the narrative on Oct 8 was that there were no tunnels into Egypt. Hell, the Egyptians don’t even like the Palestinians, so any talk of tunnels is just uninformed or paranoid.

  7. There were plenty of Egyptians willing to make money on smuggling things into Gaza, both Bedouin tribes in the Sinai and lots of Egyptian military officers who supposedly controlled the border. But Egypt doesn’t want Gazans in Egypt because they consider them troublemakers — and of course they are.

  8. Re: Levitation

Heck, the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi taught his students to fly.

    Or at least to hop…

BTW, John Lennon wrote “Sexy Sadie” after Maharishi allegedly put the moves on a woman, while they were all in India.

Sexy Sadie, what have you done? You made a fool of everyone.

  9. The story to which sdferr refers.

He doesn’t appear to have been targeted for his work at DOGE, just a random attack by mostly peaceful thugs.

Musk and Trump may become friends again over their agreement that the administration may have to federalize DC.

  10. @AesopFan: He doesn’t appear to have been targeted for his work at DOGE, just a random attack by mostly peaceful thugs.

I’m keeping an eye on that. I wasn’t a conspiracy buff for all those years for nothing. Besides:
