And I will add that there is no evidence other than the accusations by the two accusers – one of whom is Virginia Giuffre, who falsely accused Dershowtiz, by the way.
But once people get in their head that there’s a list of guilty clients that’s being suppressed, many will never let go of that notion.

All three commissioners leading the United Nations’ anti-Israel inquisition panel resigned this week, just days after the State Department sanctioned a pro-Hamas U.N. investigator.
The U.N. Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory’s chairwoman Navi Pillay, commissioner Miloon Kothari, and commissioner Chris Sidoti all announced they are stepping down, according to the watchdog group U.N. Watch.
The exodus comes less than a week after Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced U.S. sanctions against U.N. special rapporteur for the Palestinian territories Francesca Albanese for her “illegitimate and shameful efforts to prompt [International Criminal Court] action against U.S. and Israeli officials, companies, and executives.”
Albanese has basically been a Hamas propaganda mouthpiece for the UN. See this for an example of her activities.
(3) is a good catch neo. I can’t say I know Langone terribly well, but what I do know is all good and quite impressive. He’s not as smart or rich as Elon Musk, but he didn’t suck up billions in tax dollars like Elon did, and he has been a huge donor to some impressive operations.
I missed all of his negative commentary about Trump in the past, since I quit watching CNBC in disgust some time ago. The guy seems to be a straight shooter.
What are the consequences for an individual who has been sanctioned?
I’m not sure why anyone would pick a lifelong bureaucrat to run an economy over a businessman. If the scene at the State Department the other day didn’t inform as to what a bureaucrat thinks their “special purpose” is, nothing will.

Here’s Rubio’s letter. But it doesn’t describe the sanctions. However, they typically involve not insignificant penalties, such as preventing travel to the US and blocking assets she has in the US. I don’t know whether that would include travel to the UN headquarters in NY, but perhaps.

I don’t. But the regime indeed was changed, and not for the better. American forces were on the ground in Syria, halping, as were Turks and Russians. Someone was trying for regime change, perhaps, or maybe not, but regardless they got it.

American forces were and are protecting our Kurdish allies in the northeastern part of the country. The Russians backed the Assad regime. The HTS rebels had the backing of Turkey, not Russia or the U.S.

It seems there is imprecision in the discussion of the Epstein matter. Bondi said the only unreleased material she has is “child porn.” AFAIK, Epstein & Maxwell’s victims were underage, but not prepubescent or under 13 years old.
Not to excuse any illegalities, but in the USA’s past and in many countries today, girls marrying before the age of 18 is not so rare. Again, not to excuse Epstein’s and Maxwell’s crimes, it seems to me that molesting prepubescent children is a more perverted and heinous crime than sexual relations with underage girls.

Sorkin has always been a hardcore lefty and suffers a very severe case of Trump derangement syndrome (TDS).

In the US right now, the age of consent and the age at which you can marry varies by jurisdiction, and not only that, can vary by the age or relationship of the two people involved. In my own state the age of consent can be as high as 21 or as low as 16. Only in 11 states is the minimum age actually 18.

Huh. Not what I expected. I’ve been re-watching a TV series based the true story of the development of the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit. In the 1970’s they are investigating the rape/murder of a young girl, and they mention that the minimum age in Georgia is 14.
Strangely, according to Wikipedia, California has no minimum age for marriage. Missouri has the lowest stated age at 15. In colonial America, the age was 12.

The first atomic bomb test at Trinity, New Mexico occurred on July 16th, 1945.

@ HC68: when it comes time for folks to discuss “the anniversaries of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki strikes that ended World War II.” I hope there is some consideration of the view that those two bombs (being early in such bomb development) were no more devastating in their end result than prior city-wide fire bombing campaigns. Thus some people believe that they were an excuse that the Emperor used to save face vs. the real fears he and his command staff had about a pending invasion by the Soviets from the Northern islands. They surrendered to the Americans so they did not have to potentially surrender to the Soviets.
I expect we will see a spirited back and forth on this topic when the time is right, both here and/or on other blogs/sites.
