Hey, what’s this – Karine Jean-Pierre, political changer? — 20 Comments

  1. She was the ultimate DEI hire, a triple crown winner — immigrant, black, and lesbian.

  2. I don’t for a moment think she’s a changer. She’s angry at the Democrats for their coup d’etat against Biden. I’ve seen nothing to suggest that she’s ideologically opposed to the Left/Democrat agenda. I could give her props for loyalty to her boss, but she was part of the coverup of his incapacity.

  3. She was too smug by far, likely hasn’t changed, and too cute in the look but don’t touch lesbian group.

  4. One will certainly be able to feel just a bit of sympathy for her now.

They will flay her, pull out her finger and toe nails, then draw and quarter her…after which they’ll—horrors!—mock her hair style (which they couldn’t do while she was Press Secretary because, well, let’s call it “bad optics”).

I wouldn’t be surprised if the usual suspects will go full out to trash her integrity (not too difficult to do unless one takes into account those doing the trashing) or even threaten to charge her with betraying state secrets…so it takes a certain amount of courage on her part to embark on this adventure, unless in this case cupidity is the better part of valor…and/or she’s been given some terrible advice.

    Whatever.

As for the book, if she can find a publisher—and who knows if she will?—I would expect a lot of juicy inner-circle, fly-on-the-wall-type revelations, fleshed out with quite a bit of word salad…though maybe she’ll find a decent editor, or even an accomplished ghost writer.

Or maybe she’ll just invent everything…or—even better—blame Trump for her travails…

    Stay tuned!

(BTW, did “Biden” give her a pardon, too?)

  5. Biden appointed Judge (who else) has stopped the deportation of the attempted murderer’s family. Aren’t their Visa’s expired too?

  6. As for the book, if she can find a publisher . . .
    __________

Of course she has a publisher. That’s why we’re hearing about the book. And the manuscript (whoever wrote it) is no doubt well along in the production process, maybe even in press.

Watch for “advance praise,” coming soon. Very soon.

  7. My burning question for KJP is who told her The Mop was a good look.

Is it easier to change your politics than your hairstyle?

  8. She was in way over her head and obviously not good in her job. Yet, as the line goes “she persevered” … which didn’t make things any better.

If she’s an independent, it’s because she thought the party treated Joe badly. She hasn’t changed. The DNC did.

  9. why can’t they go away for a time, good grief I’m sure she was reasonably rewarded for her subterfuge, maybe the dogs won’t eat the dogfood, as tapper has found out,

  10. “Independent” is technically what Bernie Sanders is. Don’t think that would constitute a political change for Karine Jean-Pierre.

“Independent” could be literally any ideology represented in American politics.

  11. Sanders, in a recent interview, was forced to admit, if perhaps grudgingly, that—IIRC—the Democrats are a danger to Democracy.**

I wonder whether KJP would have been able to respond similarly.…

(The follow-up question likely should have been, “Then why are you for all intents and purposes in lock-step with them??”
Needless to say, it wasn’t asked.)

** The question may have been something a bit different—along the lines of “In that case the Democrats were not acting in a democratic manner, were they?”

    + Bonus:
Yikes! Scott Jennings chimes in… rather mercilessly.

  12. I would bet that behind closed doors KJP wasn’t well-treated by the Biden people or by the legacy media.

I’ll bet that treatment stung and this is some of her motivation to change.

Also I don’t see much of a future for anyone close to the Biden disaster, not even a DEI triple-threat like KJP.

Maybe she’s smarter than I thought.

  13. I assume the book deal is her best opportunity. She’s cashing in and settling some scores.

  14. KJP is an opportunist, getting her career a CYA to ensure her future sinecures.

I think it’s that simple and uncomplicated.

We’re talking political animals surviving as the ground shifts, not political philosophy or mind-shifts.

Therefore, I think our host’s curiosity is unwarranted.

  15. TJ:

I disagree. Writing this book and becoming “Independent” (whatever that means to her) is likely to make her less likely to get a job on the left, or the leftist talk circuit, or in academia, not more likely. The left is presently quite angry with her.

I am generally curious about people who profess to have undergone any kind of political change. She is merely one of them. The details for her may end up being uninteresting or bogus, but nevertheless I am generally curious about such things.

  16. sometimes it is really genuine, like Julian Epstein who was one of those rabid Clinton defenders, Leo Terrell who was strongly antipolice and now is the deputy to Harmeet Dhillon, Camille Paglia who didn’t cross over completely showed a certain iconoclastic bent, in the last 20 years , there is a smaller subsets of center right figures, who went all the way over to the looney left,
