The leftist Jew-killer — 19 Comments

  1. A few months ago I read a Substack piece which explained why it’s a big deal if university administrations and local authorities don’t respond more strongly to the anti-Israel (and often anti-Jewish) protests we’ve seen since October 7. Something to the effect that it’s necessary to prevent protests turning into pogroms.

It was an interesting point. “Really? Is that where these protests could lead??? Yes there’s been intimidation, harassment, occasionally physical contact, but lethal violence??? This isn’t 1930s Germany!”

And now we’ve seen it. For years I’ve been haunted by the idea that if Something Awful and Horrific happened somewhere else years ago it can happen here and now.

  2. I have read that despite his Jewish-sounding name Lischinsky was a Christian.

  3. Milgrim and Lischinsky would probably not want it, would not condone it, but their murders are surely going to make some Jews and some people who support Jews cry out for blood.

    Like me.

I don’t own a gun. I didn’t follow through on getting one after taking a gun safety course a few years ago. I’m not inflamed or impassioned or galvanized. Just sad that two promising lives have been extinguished by the usual suspect, the usual death-worshipping cult that cloaks itself in victimhood while it victimizes.

As I said, given the choice Milgrim and Lischinsky would deplore someone, a Jew, a veteran, someone tired of the endless bloodletting providing an answer in kind to those who take life so casually, so relentlessly.

    But I wouldn’t.

  4. FOAF:

I hadn’t read that previously, but I see now that a spokesman said it and I’ll assume it’s the case. Whether he was a Christian convert or not I don’t know.

However, there’s little question in my mind that the killer thought he was killing a Jew. Here’s some information on the gathering:

The two young people gunned down outside a Jewish museum in D.C. Wednesday night were young Israeli Embassy staffers who were soon to be engaged.

Israel identified the victims as Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, without giving their ages. They were leaving a young diplomats’ event at the Capital Jewish Museum that was meant to “foster unity and celebrate Jewish heritage” when they were killed. …

Ron Prosor, a veteran Israeli diplomat, said Lischinsky was a student of his at an Israeli university. He said Lischinsky was Christian, “a true lover of Israel” who had served in the military “and chose to dedicate his life to the state of Israel.”

I added an ADDENDUM about that to the post.

  5. There are Christian Israelis. Perhaps this young man was one of those. There are also Druze and Muslim Israelis, some of whom serve in the IDF. Milgrim is described as “Jewish-American.” As you say, Neo, the killer thought he was killing Jews. Some of the victims of 10/7 were not Jews. Callous murderers often don’t bother with distinctions.

  6. he went to the Israeli Embassy, he expected to kill Jews, I noted in 1972, shortlly after Munich, Black September targeted the Embassy in London, the previous year, Carlos, had targeted the Jewish businessman in London, Edward Sieff, other groups targeted a Jewish Cafe in Paris, it’s a very old story, with a relatively new chapter now,

  7. “30-year-old Elias Rodriguez was – until yesterday – a fairly typical-seeming leftist activist:”

Unfortunately I think that is still true. While most of them still won’t go this far fewer and fewer of them object to the ones that do.

  8. so this is clearly terrorism, which the Democrats have had an blind eye to this militancy

  9. …fewer and fewer of them object to the ones that do.

I’d desperately like to know how true that statement is. I don’t know.

  10. This guy not only shot both people multiple times, but reloaded and again shot at least one person trying desperately to get away. So, of course, the left will Luigi Mangione him.

  11. Alan Colbo:

Before I saw your comment, I published a new post dealing with that. You can find it here.

  12. Is this the Elion Rodriguez that Clinton or Bush deported from Florida to Cuba? Remember that kid? Would be wild if it turned out to be him returned. Sure its an ILLEGAL ALIEN either way. Get back to deportations Orange Man!

  13. Usually the -ski ending is Polish. It uses the Roman alphabet so is actually spelled that way. Usually non-Jewish.

OTOH -sky is most often a transliteration from the Cyrillic alphabet so is usually Russian or perhaps Ukrainian (I despise the -skyy transliteration used for the Z man in the press as the double “y” does not exist in any European language and a single “y” works just fine) and is sometimes Jewish.

  14. Since he’s admitted his guilt, his trial should be over in a day, then expedite his trip to hell. But most importantly, ensure that his execution is in as ‘unclean’ a manner as possible. Whether he’s Muslim or not the manner of his execution will act as a deterrent to future jihadist terrorist attacks. As Allah has declared that ‘uncleanliness’ at death is a permanent bar to paradise. By their own beliefs, there will be no ‘reward’ of 72 virgins. I suggest drowning him in a large vat of pigs blood. Then be sure to upload his execution to the web as a ‘teaching moment’ for young prospective jihadists.
