Virginia Giuffre has committed suicide. My sympathy to her family.

(She was responsible for her acts and omissions over the years. This appears, regrettably, to be the view of an odd minority.)
yes she was, however there were many enablers that were a party to her sad fate,
her willingness to accuse Dershowitz, without facts, to negotiate deals with Prince Andrew, to insinuate against Trump through third parties,
ah Susan Rice part of the the valkyries along with Samantha Power, the summit of the deep state iceberg, the orchestrator of the Libyan calamity, and apparently much of the regime’s actions with Biden, on the domestic front,
its remarkable how little curiosity the so called free press, has about these matters,
I was on a cruise to the bahamas for three days, and I found that enough,
maybe if I had more ports of call to visit,
I found the seating arrangement for the Pope’s funeral very interesting. No, not that the Trump’s were in the first row (Dem head explode), nor that Zelensky was too. Estonia in the front? And the EAU? And the erstwhile Catholic, Biden and Jill, were far back. The most interesting one was that Van Der Leyen was very far back. The Vatican was playing a lot of politics in the seatings.

The year 2026 marks the semi quincentennial of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. However, it was in April of 1775, 250 years ago that the first blood was shed in Concord and Lexington in what was to become the American revolution leading to the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
A good read that brings to life that tumultuous period is David McCullough’s 1776. The Illustrated Edition published several years later is highly recommended as it contains images and removable documents to tell the story of America’s birth.
These volumes provide an excellent background for the wonderful series of events planned for the coming year.
Hah-vahd…again.
(With several new(?) dance partners…)
In the lead up to parliament’s declaration of all-out war in America Charles Fox stated “Lord Chatham, the King of Prussia, nay, Alexander the Great never gained more in one campaign than the Nobel lord has lost – he has lost a whole continent”.
Perhaps our British commenter, David Clayton, has not come to grips with England’s loss of America. Could it be that he suffers from America envy?

‘“Together We Rise”: Conor McGregor Wants His Country Back‘— https://www.zerohedge.com/political/together-we-rise-conor-mcgregor-wants-his-country-back
Key graf:
“Local media outlets said several thousand people turned out for the anti-immigration protest, while X videos show anti-immigration protesters were significantly higher…”
(“Higher”? Oh, merely something along the lines of 100,000….)
Hmm. The land of Blarney also seems to have a Media “issue”.
(Gosh! Who’d a thunk THAT??)
I have no idea why this random story from the world of Astronomy intrigued me so much, but it did. In the weekend edition of the WSJ, it’s a story of a planet orbiting a binary star system (actually two brown dwarfs) perpendicular to the orbital plane of the two stars.
The system is unusual “for a combination of reasons, any one of which would be strange—but in combination, makes it extremely strange,” said Keivan Stassun, an astronomer at Vanderbilt University who wasn’t involved with the study.
Remember the DC helicopter crash in January that killed 64 people, including 12 children?
Turns out the female pilot who was flying was given multiple warnings and was directly told by her male instructor/copilot to turn the opposite direction of the passenger jet to avoid a collision.
Now one must wonder whether this may have been a case of suicide with concomitant murder.
Maybe the glitch that had mkent thinking he was banned has briefly unbanned humble me? I’ll make this a long one in case.
Eyes Part 1: Doc check last week had my eye pressure at 10 & 11 – had been 16-18 with pre-glaucoma eye drops. Eye Stints are working great!
Whilst waiting for that Doc visit and new prescription I was busy looking into new glasses to kill the long wait ‘n as a way of celebrating the successful Cataract surgery. Have only been wearing prescription glasses for about 13 years, trifocals—a pair of computer (intermediate) glasses ‘n a pair of TV glasses since my trifocals always suked for both. I had 7 pairs of heavy, tight on temples, tab-knives on the nose, and all-round uncomfortable glasses. 5 were $9-13 metal frames. 2 were $29 plastic. All were rectangle. Moving to rounds this time, and they have a little more viewing area…apparantly.
Eyes Part 2: Am hoping to get down to just 3 pairs now. Bio Eyes Men’s BE152 Myrtle round black acetate, w/ metal arms, and trifocal for $188 @ Walmart coming in tomorrow or next day…light! Warby Parker Langley round black cellulose acetate, w/ metal arms, and premium progressive lens – my favorite pair due by end of this week or so…very light! Langley were incredibly expensive w/ the premium progressive lens, like $445, but a 15% discount if I bought a second pair. Callum round raven matte, TR90 – a flexible, ultra-lightweight nylon with Soft rubber pads along the nose bridge and temples…basically a tossup with Titanium for light weight category. Callum will have the “free” intermediate single lens for computer…I wear computer glasses the most, and the TR90 frame with “free” single lens is $175. Comfy! $527 for both pair with the discount (-$93.00). I had saved the money, so celebrated!
Eyes Part 3: Have stayed away from Progressive lens, but Optician was knowledgeable, worn them herself, informative, and professional. Part of the Warby Parker high prices (compared to Walmart) was the good service without a rush going on around you. Am hoping these Langley progressives can also be used for TV. They said progressives need getting use to, but I’m still not used to trifocals after 13 years. They may suk, but I would never know w/o seeing for myself.
OK…past couple days have been spent experimenting with ‘n testing of self-hosting a blog on a private computer at home. Fedora failed for this novice at such. Winn11 Pro worked. Using something called Local that does the WordPress stuff. Early stages, and blogging for me is almost like having a diary—especially as a means for remembering how to do certain technical ‘Thangs. Still have 2 more years on the Hostinger self-hosting site, but barely any views compared to my private Linux Newbie WP site. May end up with X for politics, and self-hosting at home with WP as a diary format for me…we shall see.
Mike Plaiss, that was indeed interesting. A planet in an orthogonal orbit like that! How odd. And then there’s that third far-off brown dwarf in the mix.
