  1. While it’s great that the DJIA rallied, it’s important to click through to see that it hasn’t yet recovered. On Friday it was 44,628. After yesterday’s rally, 40,608. So still 10% down from a week ago.

I’m sure it will get back there in time, perhaps even by the end of today. I just got tired of seeing all the identical takes “biggest one day recovery in blah blah blah”. That’s very like the media trumpeting the inflation rate going back down under Biden–which it did–and the media ignoring that prices did not recover–which they still haven’t.

  2. yes, they are very lazy, the underlying question is what is the real value of these investments, the companies didn’t change from 43,000 to 37,000, they really don’t want to look at the rickety foundations that undergird the whole system

hopefully those who shorted the basket of stocks, are out of liquidity to try this again in three month,

and it appears everyone from Australia to the EU seems to have learned their lesson, but have they, i’m not sanguine.

but for the moment, take the win, if those blank pagers were willing to acknowledge their
error, I don’t see that happening,

    see perfidious frum

  3. Now that the US Congress, “the world’s greatest deliberative body, ” has as one of its members Jasmine Crockett, this august legislative institution will soon be hearing speeches and commentary in ghetto-speak, ebonics and containing phrases commonly found in “the hood.”

Let’s hope that this “MF, ho from the hood,” Jasmine Crockett speaks up loudly and frequently.
And don’t be surprised if she begins to accompany her speeches or commentary with some sort of a twerking “dance” routine. This will give her more “cred” within the hood.

You have to give her credit though; she vocalizes in hood-speak what the vast majority of Democrats within Congress actually believe, but hesitate to say.
    She actually speaks her mind.

True, her mind is the size of a sub-atomic particle and her intellect is on par with that of a pebble, but her greatest accomplishment to date is making AOC look like she, AOC, is not a moron.
Crockett even makes the “Cackler” look intelligent,

  4. Yesterday the house passed a bill to rein in rogue District Judges. The bill was written by California, Representative Darrell ISA. Here is what it does

About The No Rogue Rulings Act:

    • Restores principles of federalism by clarifying that judicial orders cannot bind non-parties to litigation before a court.

    • Stops single district court judges from solely determining national policy – an authority the Constitution reserves for Congress, the President, and, in limited instances, the Supreme Court.

    • Creates an exception for certified class action lawsuits and establishes a three-judge appeals process that can be appealed directly to the Supreme Court.

It Passed on a party line vote so it will certainly be filibustered in the Senate.

  5. she went to a ritzy prep school in memphis, so shes kind of slumming, then again sheila jackson lee, got by for 30 years with this jive,

  6. They didn’t mention whether the Michigan couple is a Catholic family or not. My Catholic mother was one of 10 children. The largest number I’ve heard in my hometown area is 15 children.

I recall being moderately shocked as a pre-teen, that something like a birth control pill was forbidden by the church. Later, I learned of the term “cafeteria Catholic.” The church has a lot of rules and regs., and those Catholics who choose to ignore some of them earn the “cafeteria” moniker. Well, with rules like those, it’s no wonder that there are lots of independent choosers.

  7. Tommy,

Have you ever read Humanae Vitae? If not, perhaps give it a read. According to Wiki, “It affirmed traditional Church moral teaching on the sanctity of life and the procreative and unitive nature of conjugal relations”. I’m not Catholic, but I understand the moral logic spelled out in the document and I agree with it. It has serious implications for both the role of sex in marriage, as well as responsible parenthood, natural methods of birth control, such as the Basal Sympto-Thermal Method (also known jokingly as Vatican Roulette) and abortion.

You can easily google both Humanae Vitae and Basal Sympto-Thermal Method for more information.

  8. My sister’s husband is like number 10 of 11. I knew a couple of his older brothers and his late younger brother. There was kind of a generational difference vibe from old to young. I guess it makes sense. A boomer born in 48 had an excellent chance at Vietnam. One born in 54 not so much and by 64…

  9. My father was the eldest of seven. His youngest siblings were fourteen and sixteen years younger. To them he was more like an uncle than a brother.

  10. While the First World nations are having below-replacement birth rates, we should be praising and blessing families with a dozen children. Those children will be supporting us in retirement–those of us not already long since retired–and also our children when they retire.

Those families with a dozen children will literally inherit the earth. They are the future of the human species. The one-or-no-kid lifestyle is failing the only test that matters, the test of future existence. Crazy leftist cat ladies and the LGBTQ crowd will go the way of the Shakers. (Currently there are 2 Shakers remaining.)

  11. JohnTyler–I saw a video a couple of weeks ago where an articulate Crockett, not yet actually in Congress, was dressed pretty demurely, and speaking very good, educated English, and in complete sentences, so this fake ghetto, hood, “angry black woman” persona is apparently just an act (but, then again, maybe what we’re seeing now is the real Jasmin, and her “acting white” persona was the act), which she apparently thinks she needs to put on to advance.

  12. RE: UAP/UFO—If you are interested–

Apparently believing that the U.S. government is just not likely to release anywhere near what would amount to genuine UAP/UFO Disclosure, private, civilian efforts are starting to be created to find this information.

In the last couple of years several new, serious, scientifically oriented, and apparently pretty well-funded organizations have sprung up, with the aim of studying UFOs and the Phenomena, and using an array of scientific instruments and techniques to gather better, clearer images of, and information about, UAPs/UFOs.

There is Harvard Astronomer Avi Loeb and his Galileo Project, with the aim of setting up comprehensive sensor packages in various locations around the U.S. to observe the sky, and using AI to process/sort through, categorize, and identify, what is likely to be a very large amount of data.

Stanford Professor and Immunologist Garry Nolan has co-founded the SOL Foundation which, among many other efforts related to UAPs/UFOs and NHI’s, is starting to hold conferences–bringing together experts from Academia, the scientific community, and other experts to discuss and examine the UFO Phenomena–and SOL is also creating anticipatory policy papers for the government/decision makers on how to think about and deal with this very complex and multi-layered issue when Disclosure finally happens.

There is the European Crash Retrieval Initiative, led by UAP Sweden, and the Ocean X Team, with support from the VASCO project, which aims to identify, travel to, and to retrieve crashed UFOs before any government/corporate crash retrieval teams show up to collect them.

Most recently, there is the new organization “Skywatchers”–Dr. Garry Nolan, and ex-military “first tier operator” and UFO whistleblower Jake Barber part of the organization/team–which has just put up two episodes on YouTube, in which they chronicle what they say are their successful efforts to “call” UFOs/UAPs to their desert location, where they are filmed, and surveilled by many different kinds of sensor systems. This “calling” involving two very different methods, one technological, one psychic.

Their audacious, ultimate goal is, apparently, to be able to “call” a UAP/UFO, and to entice/control it, to land.*

++Waiting for om to add his Unicorn talk here.++

    * See some interesting images in episode II at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcuxnqQLuAQ&t=29s

  13. RE: Skywatchers “psychic” attempts at “calling” UFOs

The general feeling—what I sense on the wind–I get, is that a realization is dawning among researchers that human consciousness is not just confined to our physical brains, but is some sort of field, which extends out into the physical world, and can have effects on it, and that our consciousness has all sorts of usually, largely untapped potential.

One idea which has been floating around the “UFO community” is that progress in reverse engineering UFOs has been either non-existent or very slow, and that is because it is being realized that these UFOs, their control systems, have a “psychic”/consciousness component, which must be present to be able to operate them.

Thus, the efforts to use human consciousness to attract/call them, and to try to control/operate them.

  14. Snow on Pine:

Lately I’ve been contemplating the UFO phenomenon from the POV that our reality is a simulation created by higher dimensional beings.

Even for such beings it’s a lot of trouble and expense to simulate a universe complete with living, conscious, intelligent creatures. So like any good engineers they built backdoors into their simulation so they could intervene.

Down here we call those interventions — divine will, miracles, coincidences and UFOs.

  15. EXCUSE ME, please. I posted this to yesterday’s open thread. Not today’s current one!

Was the 2020 vote for President a stolen election?
In a conspiracy yet to be fulsomely revealed? Glenn Reynolds assures us YES! in current post at INSTAPUNDIT.COM. Trump has indicated that proof was coming….

Next, clicking through the X.com links there, we find Scott Rasmussen with a pull quote, followed by re-sharing a post by George Behizy.

    https://x.com/Rasmussen_Poll/status/1910073705516220847
    Rasmussen Reports

    @Rasmussen_Poll
BOOM: “They used COVID to cheat. And we’re going to find out about this guy too. Because this guy’s a wise guy. He said we’ve proved that this is the most secure election in the history of our country. No, this was a disaster.”

    GEORGE:

BREAKING: President Trump just signed an order revoking Chris Krebs’s security clearance and has directed the DOJ to investigate him for his role in the stolen 2020 election.

Krebs was the former head of CISA, who worked with the FBI & Big Tech to censor the truth about the 2020 election. He said it was the most “secure election in American history.”

“He said, This is the safest election we’ve ever had. And yet, every day you read in the papers about more and more fraud that’s discovered. He’s the fraud. He’s a disgrace. So we’ll find out whether or not it was a safe election. And if it wasn’t, he’s got a big price to pay.”

    THIS IS ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE!
    ——————————

Read the comments to the bottom of George’s comment, and we find a quote posted by a commenter— supporting Molly Ball’s infamous Feb21 article confirming by boast of the stolen election — from the head of Dominion Voting machines asserting the same: that the fix is in, and Trump cannot be re-elected (my diction, not a quote).

    WOW!
Thus, the Covid wuhan Lab Leak coverup was the tool for the obscuring the election steal? We’ll see.

  16. No matter what happens in the world, for some, Unicorns are always there lurking in the shadows.

  17. OK. Sure,om. Except the J6 “Fedsurrection” thesis, for example, has grown in plausibility. At issue is the closing of official investigation into that days actual and most serious event, someone somehow anonymously placing bombs at RNC and DNC headquarters that day.

We have video showing Federal and other officers apparently discovering the package, yet inexplicably without either action (calling bomb squad) or alarm! Letting innocent passes by go there!

That’s either gross incompetence or worse.

The DNC refused to yield their own office security cameras. How convenient.

Likewise, the phone records (texts too?) of these officers were allegedly scrubbed in some system upgrade. (Although I’ve heard about some records being reconstructed– status for me is unknown).
    How convenient

Finally VP Kamala Harris claimed to be at the Capitol on J6, cowering in stark fear at the rioters, but is confirmed to have been at the DNC! Lies.
And again, official incompetence or complicity.

But as to the 2020 Presidential election, that then ex VP potato head go far more votes than Obama did, while campaigning from a basement, stretches credulity too far.

I don’t know if Trump won, but that Democrats changed the counting rules not by Legislation but by various fiat “legal” or bureaucratic interventions, sure suggests widespread coordination.

And the documentary “2000 Mules” proved that in principle, ballot stuffing by a variety of paid illegal ballot harvesting campaigns, went on in 2020 — which may account for Potato Head’s incredible vote surplus millions. (Cf, Molly Hemingway’s book on the election.) And in addition, we have the fact that most of these egregious balloting practices have been reversed, either by judicial review or legislative action. Finally, confirming weak ballot security in the US in 2024, 13 out of the 15 states Kamala won embrace up to Swiss Cheese levels of ballot insecurity (eg, the Peoples Republic of CA, where a man I know with two homes in this state received 5 ballots by mail in 2020).

Next consider the massive improbability of 2020s election results. Trump won 13 out of 15 presidential bell weather indicators — yet he still “lost” with Biden winning with the fewest counties in the US in history .

Finally, I examined the graphical voter turnout strength map by Congressional District. In a normal wave election, some identifiable demographic sweeps in, switching usual voting patterns But in 2020, this didn’t happen.

For example, pre-election polls of voter turnout found that black voter enthusiasm was lower than normal. And black folks typically back Ds up to 90%.

Thus, how did heavily black districts hugely overvote in only the only in the 5 swing states? And not in any nearby strongly black cities? For example, only Milwaukee, WI see the huge overvote, but not nearby Chicago, IL? Or, in Atlanta GA, but not Memphis or Charlottesville?

The bizarre disparity cannot be explained away by superior voter turnout efforts in just those five places. At least, no in has seriously argued from empirical data for that possibility.

That leaves my thesis, Xiden did not get the Constitutionally valid votes claimed (as Robert Barnes argues, who supports my conclusion.)

Thus, I believe Potato Head’s “victory” in 2020 is very much in reasonable doubt.

As Neo often notes, the insecurity of our voting system, unlike open public British style balloting, ensures great ballot illegitimacy.

It should not be up for debate, ballot security is nother pro 80% polling question against 20% splits. And I Will await ongoing investigations to revisit the issue.

  18. RE: UFOs

Honestly, I do not see what the mystery is about this.

Given that there are BILLIONS of stars and BILLIONS of solar systems, which added up offer up TRILLIONS of stars and who knows how many planets, it is beyond belief that anybody thinks the only intelligent (and not so intelligent – think AOC, the “Cackler,” and direct from the hood, Jasmine Crockett) life exists, or has existed, on lonely, tiny planet earth.

The only thing about all of this I find to be mysterious is why on earth the US govt is covering up their existence.
If all is revealed, will people start committing suicide by the millions (as a few nut jobs did at the turn of the century)?
Will people just stop going to work (OK, let’s not mention federal workers).?

After all, how many military and commercial aircraft pilots have witnessed and how many times have bizarre, fast and oddly moving objects been documented on radar, are needed to establish their existence??
And really; is it a mystery that these UFOs must be using a technology unknown to humans?

Lastly, I have personally seen bizarre, very fast moving and moving in highly erratic manners, bright objects literally dancing across a very clear night sky. These objects – about a dozen or so – were moving in ways that no military aircraft or normal celestial object can move.
And yes, one of these objects began descending – in total silence – not too far from where the two of us were standing, which prompted us to get the hell out of dodge, post-haste.
    We actually got scared.

No need to resort to “other worldly” theories about consciousness or that humans are really figments of the imagination of other advanced life forms or that we exist within some alien’s AI computer game.
The odds of life existing in only one place amongst TRILLIONS of possibilities is about
    1 x 10^(-10000000000000000000000……..)

  19. JohnTyler–Many plausible reasons have been given for why the “government” is
not releasing the information and objects it has retrieved, these last 80 years or so, regarding UFOs.

First, it appears that there really is no unified government position on this subject–as has been the case for many decades, there are factions which want to release more information, and those which want to keep everything secret–and the secrecy faction, which usually wins the argument, is currently dictating the official DOD response to inquiries on this subject, as well as apparently controlling AARO–what it investigates, and what is says, and concludes.

However, in contrast, DOPSER, the DOD’s Office of Pre-publication and Security Review, has cleared David Grusch to give the revelatory Congressional testimony and interviews he has done, cleared Lou Elizondo to give the revelatory Congressional testimony he has also given, to say what he has said on innumerable interviews, and to write his recent book, “Imminent.”

As for reasons to not want to Disclose, one might be a sincere concern that revealing what we know, and how we know it, might give our adversaries valuable information, an advantage, we don’t want them to have.

Another might be that those in control of the Program are genuine patriots, and see it as offering the U.S. a chance to gain an unbeatable advantage over our enemies.

Or, on the other hand, another reason might be that those in the government secrecy faction and the defense contractors in possession and control of this information, and running the crash retrieval and reverse engineering program–“The Program”–now gone rogue, see these operations, generally, as sources, for them, of leverage and power, and of potentially world changing technological advancements, fabulous wealth, and even more power.

Moreover, since it looks like crimes–perhaps very serious crimes–might have been committed by Program members during these last 8 decades, preventing full knowledge of the Program getting out is an imperative, if they want to stay out of sight, and out of jail.

Another reason why our military, in particular, might not want the truth to come out is that, if it did, it would very publicly reveal that they are powerless to stop these UFOs/NHIs from doing whatever they want, whenever they want to i.e. despite the trillions of dollars which have been poured into national defense, our military is absolutely powerless to defend us against UFOs, and the NHIs which are apparently commanding them.

Moreover, it might be a mixture of some or all of the possible reasons above, plus others I have not listed here.
