Daughter-in-law to President Donald Trump and former RNC Chair, Lara Trump, is joining Fox News — where she will host a Saturday evening show.
“My View with Lara Trump,” expected to air on Saturdays at 9 p.m. Eastern, will include a mix of analysis and interviews with influential figures. The network is describing the show as focused on “the return of common sense to all corners of American life,” echoing a phrase, “common sense,” that the Trump administration has frequently deployed.
US president Donald Trump will try to force Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky to agree to a ceasefire with Russia by Easter under a peace plan, according to a report.
…will include a ceasefire by April 20 that would freeze Russia’s steady advance, a ban on Ukraine from joining NATO, and a demand for Kyiv to accept Russian sovereignty on annexed land.
On top of this, Ukrainian troops will be made to leave Russia’s Kursk region, where it launched a counteroffensive in August, while a contingent of European soldiers, which could include British troops, would be asked to police a demilitarised zone. American troops will not be involved in this contingent.
It’s Adley’s birthday today. He turns 27! So Happy Birthday, Adley! Have some cake!
If you haven’t seen it, here’s Trump signing the protection of women’s sports. How anyone who watches this as he tells the Secret Service that having a bunch of young girls around him is not a problem as he signs and not get a smile is beyond hope. Of course that will happen with the evil 40%, though I haven’t heard them squawk about this one so far. I spent some 20 years watching my 2 daughters as athletes (4 years old through college, and still playing in adult leagues), so this hits home for me.
This is what happens when you’re drunk with power, think you’ve got EVERYTHING figured out and are thoroughly convinced that you’ll never get caught (since your elaborate, sophisticated, convoluted plot is just too, too ingenious to ever be unraveled)….

• Robert F Kennedy Jr appeared to mix a mysterious blue dye in his drink while traveling on an airplane, in footage that has left viewers baffled.
• Some medical experts said the blue liquid was likely methylene blue …Early studies have shown promise for the drug in treating aging, dementia, Lyme disease and even cancer – though the research has been in animals or on human cells rather than in people.
• Mel Gibson claimed three of his friends were cleared of their stage four cancer after taking a supplement regimen that included methylene blue…
• Dr Jesse Morse, a sports medicine physician in Florida, posted on X: ‘That’s methylene blue that RFK Jr is putting into his drink if I’ve ever seen it’ … A source close to Kennedy told DailyMail.com ‘it’s probably methylene blue… used in the biohacking community.’
• Methylene blue was originally used as a clothing dye in the late 19th century before scientists used it to treat malaria in 1891 … Malaria parasites are thought to feed on red blood cells and sap them of hemoglobin, which helps transport oxygen from the lungs to other parts of the body.
• Nowadays, methylene blue is FDA approved to treat methemoglobinemia…
• Dr Morse wrote on X: ‘Personally for me it’s my “limitless pill” … ‘It works amazing to help with brain fog, energy optimization, anti-aging, concussions, Alzheimer’s / Parkinson’s, mold/mycotoxin, Lyme and many more.’

This is madness! The result of this plan will be that Ukraine acquires nuclear weapons. Do you Russophiles really believe that when the nukes start flying in Europe we’ll just be able to sit it out here in America all safe and sound? Madness!!

America is most certainly a ‘Melting Pot’. After more cooking in that ole’ ‘Melting Pot’ it seems that America’s Right (?) are/is the “Russophiles” now.
Trump wants California’s high speed train project investigated. It’s about time. I’ve seen the concrete pillars and empty overpasses below Fresno while driving down Hwy. 99. Construction started in 2015 and they’ve yet to lay a mile of track, although Newsom said something recently about 25 miles to be laid, which will start from nowhere and end at nowhere.
From what I can find, $6.8 billion in federal money has already been wasted on it, in addition to $9 billion from the original state bond act way back in 2008. Altogether close to $30 billion has been spent.
Does this remind you of the USAID boondoggles?
As regards the Jump. Moving from drama toward gymnastics. Unnecessary, although it depends on what you like.
Asking google, then grok, for how much has been spent to date on California’s high speed rail project, I get answers ranging from $17 billion to $23 billion to $28.8 billion, or a number in between depending on how I phrase the question. So much for the touted accuracy of AI. Musk and his team have their work cut out.

It’s clearly a return shot over the bow against China’s DeepSeek R1, released a few weeks ago.
DeepSeek R1 has made legitimate breakthroughs — important optimizations, the wonderful stream of thought feature, and the ability to localize AI on smaller devices.
Despite the misleadingly modest Chinese claims of the resources required. Not to mention that DeepSeek sends your data to China.
The most important takeaway IMO is that AI remains an open game, not limited to a few Big Players and First Movers.
Which means more competition, lower prices and faster progress. We are hitting another steep section of the AI growth curve.

@ Karmi > “4) Red Cross: Humanitarian bystander of the year – (Israeli comedy short)”
Ouch.
Because it’s so close to being true.
Some years ago I did an internet comparison of ROI for charities, IOW how much of a donation actually went to servicing the people in need.
Red Cross had the worst score; at the time, Salvation Army had the best.
Now I only give to my church’s Humanitarian Aid Fund or to locals.
And remember that a lot of the GoFundMe-type solicitations are scams.
Which deserves its own terrace on one of Dante’s circles.
Karmi: referencing the Leavitte/Trump proposed tax actions.
Given our current national debt/defict and bankrupcy situation, I am not entirely a fan of some of this, although we really need more details to come to a final opinion.
Tax on tips: does that mean I should reduce my tip % since they get to keep all of it and not 80 or 90 %?
No tax on SS: if this was a real IRA type investment that would not make sense. For some of us who don’t really need that income (we are basically gifting the equivalent to our grandkids), under our current national situation, this should be adjusted for means tests, etc.
No tax on overtime pay: but that incentivizes people to work extra hours that might have gone to a new additional worker? (who still has to pay taxes on that income).
[Property tax] SALT: need details but I thought I saw a comment that Trump was favoring an increase in the threshold, thus favoring the Dem high tax states to continue their local protax behavior since the rest of us in the lower tax states end up contributing what they get forgiven.
Billionaire tax increase: probably sounds good and has little real impact in the bigger picture.
Carried interest loophole: this also depends on details, but to the extent I understand it, it involves long term delays in receiving rewards for management duties so it is basically capital gains; otherwise it is received yearly and is subject to regular rates. Some folks here may have a better insight about this than I do, so I welcome any clarifications.
Made in America: I favor a 0% corporate tax rate, with adjustments to the normal income rates to retrieve that lost income, so the real tax impact is visible to those actually paying it (shareholders,l costumers, employees and suppliers?). Also lets businesses avoid a lot of tax issues and to keep their prices lower than otherwise (but they still need to keep an eye out for sufficient gains to distribute as dividends.)
