John Spencer: “The head of the IDF (Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi) and the Southern Command Commander (Major General Finkleman) have resigned from the IDF in conjunction with the completion of the investigation into the failures of October 7th set to be finished on March 6th.”
A year and a half too late, most unhappily for the Israeli war effort. Contemptible behavior on Halevi’s part, and redolent of political weakness on the part of the Israeli sovereign government, very sad to say. I hope genuine change can come forward, but doubt it will come soon and without terrible struggle in the interim.
Trump Tally list so far…
Strong:
1) Pre-Jan 20 was very well organized w/ Trump quiet. CoS Susie Wiles has done a great job!
2) Quickly picked Admin & staff pre-Jan 20.
3) Inauguration Day 2025 shows total preparation made by good leader – unlike being unprepared during his first term.
Weak:
1) Failed to end Russia-Ukraine war within 24 hours as promised.
It has not been 24 hours since Trump entered Office in 2025, but it is rather clear that he will not be able to end the Russia-Ukraine war within 24 hours. When asked about the promise:
“I have another half of the day left,” Trump joked
Trump gets enough passes from his Cult of Personality cultists, but I will remain fair and balanced whilst Tallying his performance in this his second term.
Failed to keep promise but where does he stand now on the Russia-Ukraine war?
President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia heralded President Trump’s second inauguration with glowing praise, saying Mr. Trump showed “courage” in his campaign and won a “convincing victory” in the election.
But hours later on Monday, in the Oval Office, Mr. Trump didn’t return the favor. The American president made some of the most critical comments he’s ever made about Mr. Putin, declaring that the Russian leader is “destroying Russia” by waging war in Ukraine.
“He can’t be thrilled, he’s not doing so well,” Mr. Trump told reporters Monday evening, referring to Mr. Putin’s war. “Russia is bigger, they have more soldiers to lose, but that’s no way to run a country.”
Putin is wanting control over all of Ukraine – an opening weak position whilst attempting to negotiate with Trump, IMHO. Still way early, but am hoping that I spotted an early negotiating move by Trump on the Russia-Ukraine war…
Karmi, thanks for the Trump Tally. Please keep it up.
What he says is good, but what gets done is important.
Karmi, I long ago learned to take Trump seriously, but not literally. His energy actions will begin very soon to put the squeeze on Russia.
Those were the deepstaters i mentioned the other day
Regarding today’s post topic, this will be my third time mentioning them, but I think a lot of neo’s readers would find the Map Men YouTube videos educational and funny:
Kamala’s insertion into Altadena and the wildfires less than 24 hours after leaving the Vice Presidency almost certainly shows she intends to run for Governor of California.
Dax:
Yes, RIP Garth.
He was the musical genius behind the Band. Classically trained. In the early days he literally schooled the other members of the Band.
Man, what he could do with an organ and an accordion, as well as the other half-dozen instruments he could play.
There aren’t many accordion solos in rock, but check out Garth’s accordion here:
I suspect most people visiting Neo’s bloc (and Neo herself) would think this is about time, but it raises an bigger debate. At what point is going after people who have misused their positions of trust (as much as American’s trust people in the IC community) good policy and where is the line of revenge.
Much has been said about Trump seeking revenge for the wrongs inflicted on him and his administration for the last 8 years (most of the criticism of his purposes are expressed by people that might be served some of that cold dish).
It also raises the issue of why do these people retain their security clearances anyway? As a policy, losing their security clearance upon leaving their job/office seems to be just common sense.

Brian E:
Excellent question.
My take is that we go don’t go after individuals for prosecution, but for information revealing just what the hell has been going on the past ten years.
As I understand it, pardons don’t absolve the Bidens et al. from being questioned under oath.
That’s a great song. I saw them in concert several times. “The Genetic Method,” a long freeform solo jam which sequed into “Chest Fever” was mind blowing.
Also recall a show when during “Shootout in Chinatown” he came into the song in the totally wrong key. Oh well, that’s why they call it “live.” And The Band played on.
I saw them in concert several times.
Dax:
Lucky man!
The Band’s eponymous second album, AKA “The Brown Album” is a sublime peak in rock. Just about every song is irreplaceable and unequalled.
Rock critic Dave Marsh, as I recall, once said that Springsteen wrote about an America you knew but didn’t feel, while The Band wrote about an America you felt but didn’t know.
No other group mentioned Spike Jones in their lyrics, but The Band did in “Cripple Creek.”
I really liked “The Phantom Tollbooth.” I read it several times as a kid and encouraged my kids to read it.
I’ve raved about CoS Susie Wiles for some time now – oh, have been seeing a lot of Stephen Miller in the background over the past couple of days. Anyway, those two stay pretty quiet ‘n in the background.
Have also mentioned another excellent pick by Trump, but want to do a little raving about her this time. This one ain’t for being quiet — this one is for being loud and UPFRONT! She is a terror on reporters and the unfortunate few who dared to interview her—with the hopes of tripping her up:
Karoline Leavitt, 27, has already made waves on her first full day as the White House press secretary. On Tuesday, she teased a “massive” announcement from the president.
***
In a statement announcing her appointment in November, Trump said, “Karoline is smart, tough, and has proven to be a highly effective communicator.”
“I have the utmost confidence she will excel at the podium and help deliver our message to the American people,” he added.
Have seen this woman in action and she seems the perfect pick for Trump’s Press Sec…(NOTE: her husband is 59/60 so at 27 she has experience being around older men)
Am I being overly cynical to wonder how many had weapons?
