Waiting for January 20
Everyone is waiting for January 20th, when Trump takes office again.
Those who voted against Trump are waiting with dread, terror, or resignation.
Those who voted for Trump are waiting with eager anticipation and hope.
And I get the impression that the waiting isn’t limited to those in the US, and that most of the world is relieved that Trump will be in charge soon rather than the addled Biden and his faceless handlers.
Trump’s task will not be easy, however; not at all. I wrote of uncontained actual fires in California earlier today – well, there are a lot of uncontained metaphorical fires all over the world and in this country that will need his attention.
In the mean time, Biden is doing his best to destroy the US and hamstring Trump. Of course this bleeds over to international area.
It is going to be a rough ride. It appears that Trump is much better prepared than last time. Let’s hope. He has assembled an impressive team overall.
The Democrats will be a problem. Schumer has already exposed his backside, what with prayer vigils on 1/6 for all who were allegedly killed in 2021, except of course Ashli Babbitt. Warren is beating her war drums loudly, and hopefully ineffectively. Then there was Jeffries with his diatribe. Can I say Ass on this site? The Congressional GOP better be united. If not this could be their last opportunity for a very long time.
But, the real danger is in the ‘deep state’. That will be a brutal, guerilla style fight on a daily basis. Trump’s appointees better be ruthless and persistent.

Trump’s 100% ahead of the game this time—when compared to the disaster last time.
As I have written here before, I am concerned about Trump’s physical safety, and hope that he has a very robust private security operation guarding him, and that he is not relying on a Secret Service which has proven itself to be, at best, incompetent and/or at worst, apparently actively hostile to him and to his agenda.
I really hope that Dan Bongino is offered, and accepts, the position as head of the Secret Service.
The Deep State, full of tenured Democratic bureaucrats who by laws of the late 1800s cannot be fired, has control and will remain in control unless the DOGE approach to cancel, close down entire agencies and Administrations can be enacted. Do not count on that happening, since the Congress must, I believe, vote to make it happen when Trump, as President,becomes our national savior.
P.S.—If I were Trump I wouldn’t rely on the Capitol police either.
Speaking of the SoCal fires, someone thought it was a good idea to have Rickety Old Joe on scene, even though he appears to be in rigor mortis (possibly slightly beyond).
Closing down entire departments are agencies may require acts of Congress, but Trump may be able to downsize and defund them dramatically.

And Snow on Pine is right to be concerned about Trump’s well-being. The hatred is ever present, and yuge.
I will do everything in my power to support Trump and his agenda. All of us need to speak up, advocate, vote, and back what he’s doing in any way we can. The future is depending on it and us.
Trump wasn’t elected to erase foreign borders or start new wars . He was elected to secure ours. He needs to drop it about Canada, Greenland and the Panama Canal and even the Gulf of Mexico.
He needs to stand up for the rights of Nations States against the globalist, the Islamist and the Chinese.

Trump is right about Greenland, the Panama Canal, and renaming the Gulf.
Denmark is a low-population nation full of socialists. It has no ownership right to Greenland. None. Past US passivity is not the path of the future. MAGA !
US built the Panama Canal, and in a Jimmy Carter-like moment, gave it away. Some American workers died in the Canal’s creation; the whole world reaps the benefits.
Renaming the Gulf of Mexico is entirely logical, but a small point that will give Schmucky Schumer fits.US Gulf coastline length is in the same league as Mexico’s.

I wish I were a better person. But the time coming up to the twentieth includes a number of people being really, really upset. And I don’t mind at all.
Question is going to be, as has been alluded to, whether Trump can get done what he wants over, through, or around entrenched bureaucracies who can, among other things, simply sit on the paperwork.
At least they got the guy with the machete.
I am praying for the country, that we may be a more virtuous people and turn back to God. That our enemies, both foreign and domestic, be defeated and brought to justice!
Also praying for the patriots, including President Trump and his team, and governors Abbott and DeSantis. And for the political prisoners, especially Derek Chauvin, the Georgia Three, and the J6 people; may they recieve speedy justice!

I don’t presume to read the President’s mind here, but sometimes Trump floats an idea that he has no real intention of pursuing to deflect attention from more serious matters.
He’s also making the point that America will not continue to be the whipping-boy for countries & international cabals that have made a specialty of biting the hand that gives them generous foreign aid & protection.
And putting these extreme proposals on the table generates a discussion that lets him see where various government leaders and populations stand on related issues, which generates useful information for negotiating the conditions of what he really wants to get done.
Of course, some of those ideas generate resentment, but that’s a side-effect explained by Salena Zito’s observation from 2016:
Trump’s opponents take him literally, but not seriously.
His supporters take him seriously, but not literally.
Any party that responds out of resentment instead of focusing on the actual costs and benefits of a proposal is going to miss negotiating their best deal by moving out from the starting point.
