Just WOW! Thank you, Neo. Some very smart people involved. There are issues today, but I believe they will be overcome, again.
Too many Tourist visit.
It’s crazy and telling how in the aftermath of the school shooting in Madison that Zhou Bai-Den and others pontificated about gun control, while after the murder of Brian Thompson not a word about that matter.
Venice is a very fascinating place, the skill it took to build it, out of the marshes, the power struggles, the doge, and the council of 10, it’s great colonial expansions, and its eventual collapse
A fascinating video.
Venice is, above all, a result of problem solving.
Acute, on-going, SUCCESSFUL problem solving….
Trump and his administration are about to embark on the need to turn things around in the US, after years of deliberate sabotage by the Democratic Party.
(Trudeau has, likewise, been sabotaging the country he purportedly “governs” in a similar fashion. Trump’s recent election victory has made it much harder to conceal that the Canadian “emperor” is ABSOLUTELY NAKED—except perhaps for his trademark goofy socks—which is why he’s currently in such hot water. IOW, his policy of utter destruction can no longer be hidden PLUS Trump’s victory demonstrates that CHANGE is possible.)
Women are the only hope for this wretched world. But even women have been brainwashed by moids for too long theyve internalized the patriarchy and turned on each other, always begging for for male approval and validation. Its disgusting. I realize the truth men are iredeemable. radfem hitler was is f****** vindicated now. They cant be reformed or redeemed. Theyre a f****** scourge upon the earth. The only solution is to total exterminate them and every foid who worships these f****** parasites. Every single male must be wiped out, from babies to the elderly. Only then can women be free to create a new world. ill be a pioneer, ill be the first to take the first step. i dont care if theyr fathers, brothers, husbands, sons, teachers, police, and especially n*ggers or politicians. ive been craving to kill them all. This is my mission. only when their parasitic sludge has been expunged from this earth is when Then the world will be clean and women can start over. It’s the only way. in aproximately 10 mintue si should be dead, its strange but it feels good.
I guess feminists really do hate men to the point of destroying civ!
A few dead for the cause…
If you are wondering what “radfem hitler” is, it’s a term to describe the most violent wing of radical feminism. It’s the type of feminism that says “every single male must be wiped out, from babies to the elderly.”
Some people saw this coming.
The rest refuse to acknowledge how far it really is till SURPRISE
i think the left used to call that eliminationist rhetoric, or stochastic terrorism, any thing they would use to weaponize anti prog criticism,
Venice is one of my all-time favorite places to have visited.
The reason it originally existed is no longer there. (Cities are no longer allowed to build empires, own navies, and monopolize salt production and China trade.) There is nothing there but tourism now. So they have a lot of problems due to tourism, but without tourism Venice would disappear. Venice needs the tourists, it has nothing else to fall back on. The mainland territories of Venice have other industries but they are like any other big city–no one needs to live in the archipelago if there’s no tourism, and for First World standard of living the archipelago needs very expensive maintenance.
Even with the tourism as it is now, every year the government of Italy grants Venice a subsidy under the Special Law for Venice. Without it Venice isn’t viable.
I’ve never been there in the summer, too hot, smelly and crowded. (Those canals are also the sewers; Venice is like a giant toilet flushed twice a day, not every building has modern waste treatment.) I recommend going in December, they do a lot of Christmas stuff, it’s not crowded, hot, or smelly.
What’s funny is that while Italy makes a big deal about Christmas, it’s American-style Christmas, with Bing Crosby songs and giant Christmas trees and little Santa villages and ice-skating.
Watch the gondoliers to see where they go for lunch and eat there, it will be good food and reasonably priced.
That commenter at 11:51 a.m. really came to the wrong blog.
Kate – I think that commenter is quoting the “manifesto” of the Madison WI killer, but it failed to have quote marks or link to the original document. Even the blocked quote is not linked to documentation.
I just ignore such rants..
In case anyone missed it – here is a nice article on Trump’s news conference:
And, here is a post about support for military on the border – 73% of Americans are in favor of such actions. I have no problem with the military standing guard on the border. After all, the job is to protect Americans and the fight is not always on foreign ground. It may be time to reevaluate and update the rules of engagement especially since no one seems to know how to deal with aircraft or drones over American cities.
Tremendous analysis of the grotesque remnants of the Obama-Biden Iran-Russia succor play (yes, sucker-play too), in re Turkish-Israeli relations and the self-defeating trap Israel stands on the verge of committing. Don’t miss it.
Ah, good to know you were just quoting the shooter.
sdferr, if I don’t have an hour, what’s the self-defeating trap?
As Doran puts it: betting on a losing horse (the PKK led US proxy SDF, thus rewarding Israel with otherwise avoidable additional Turkish enmity) after the race has already been run and lost (i.e. the Turks are on a glide-slope to the destruction of the SDF/YGP/PKK); so incurring unnecessary damage from that needless decision. This, all due to Israeli inattention leading to a misunderstanding of the PKK masquerade induced by Obama’s institution of an “American”-YPG alliance in north-east Syria (at the suggestion of Brett McGurk).
But better to listen to the conversation by using the time slider to leap over unnecessary bits to get down to the meat.
I saw Venice when I was young and unsophisticated. It was truly awe inspiring with treasures that I never knew existed. The most important sight is the great church, San Marco. The Venetians looked east to Constantinople for their religious leaders so the decorations are Byzantine unlike the great cathedrals of Europe. The decorations on the ceilings are over the top pictures of saints covered in gold leaf and complicated decoration. The two greatest pieces are the four bronze horses from ancient Greece and the Pala D’Oro behind the alter, which has to be seen to be believed. Lucky for them and us, Venice was never conquered and looted as happened to so many other churches, though the Venetians did their part in conquering and looting other churches, c.f., the Fourth Crusade
Dont get me started on mcguirk he could get loose in a broom closet but if not the sdf who the druze up to a point this was part of the problem with the northern alliance in afghan which was hazara tadjik and uzbek in a predominant moslem country
Trust the sultan not a smart move since 2003 at least
Canada is having issues – everyone is quitting and I hope that Trudeau follows their lead. It is bad when the finance person quits before giving the finance report.
Check out this 11 minute speech by Pierre Poiliervre. It is worth it to go to the end of the video. In particular, watch the people behind Pierre – they are all nodding in agreement.
@Paul Iin Boston: Venice was never conquered and looted
It was, by Napoleon, in 1797. The bronze horses, for example, were taken to Paris. They were returned after Napoleon’s defeat in 1815. Not everything looted made its way back. I’m not sure if Venice was looted again by the Austrians.
Of course the horses had been looted from Constantinople, and are so old no one is sure how old they are, but Constantine or Theodosius II or some other emperor had possibly looted them first. The Pala d’Oro was commissioned and paid for, not looted, if I remember correctly.
There is a head of Justinian in purple stone kind of stuck on the roof of St Marks, looking out to sea, and not far from there at ground level are the Four Tetrarchs, minus one Imperial foot, also looted from Constantinople. Not long ago the foot was found, still in place from where it was looted.
‘President Trump has assembled the most impressive and qualified team of innovators, entrepreneurs, and geniuses to advise and staff our government,’ Leavitt in a statement to DailyMail.com.
‘Pocahontas can play political games and send toothless letters, but the Trump-Vance transition will continue to be held to the highest ethical and legal standards possible—a standard unfamiliar to a career politician whose societal impact is 1/1024th of Elon Musk’s,’ she continued.
Staff of our Government’ is looking great; however, Michael Ramirez seems to believe Trump has ulterior motives – “Federal Bureau of Intimidation”:
So they’re going to end the WEAPONIZATION of the JUSTICE DEPARTMENT by USING it to go after THEIR POLITICAL ENEMIES?
The more things change, the more they stay the same…
That America the Improbable video triggered this question:
Although a very large number of people have been indoctrinated into DEI/Woke/Marxist/Progressive mindsets, what kept all of us from being so indoctrinated?
They controlled the bulk of the educational system almost root and branch, successful enough to significantly infect corporate managers and boardrooms, with the media and Hollywood largely in their camp. But it was not quite enough!
