  1. I don’t know if the description of Trump’s diet is 100% accurate, but clearly he often doesn’t eat what nutritionists would describe as a “healthy” diet. He appears to have a constitution of iron. I remember my paternal grandfather, who smoked Camels without filters for seventy years or more, and died peacefully at age 93 NOT of lung cancer.

  2. yes this is sanctioned theft of guiliani’s property, as close to a procuration as one can imagine,

MSNBC is as close to a den of scum and villainy as one can imagine, andrew weissman is one who may end up on the hot seat, after years of malfeasanc
re the arthur anderson case, the michael cohen plea bargain et al

  3. (2) From today’s financial news:

Update: Market Chatter: Walmart to Scale Back Diversity Initiatives
11:46 AM EST, 11/26/2024 (MT Newswires) — (Updates to include a statement from a Walmart spokesperson in the last paragraph.)

Walmart (WMT) is scaling back diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing a company spokesman.

The retailer will no longer consider race or gender when granting supplier contracts, stop using the term “DEI” in official communications, curb racial sensitivity training for staff, stop participating in rankings by an LGBTQ advocacy, and review support for Pride events, the report said.

The changes were made public after anti-diversity activist Robby Starbuck threatened Walmart with a boycott campaign before the Black Friday shopping surge, the report said.

A Walmart spokesperson told MT Newswires that the company intends to “foster a sense of belonging, to open doors to opportunities for all our associates, customers and suppliers,” without confirming any of the reported changes.

Charlie Gasparino was commenting about this one air today. He recently published the book, “Go Woke, Go Broke.” Ha!

  4. Twelve Diet Cokes a day

I’ve had a brain injury since 2015 and cannot sleep more than two hours a night without a combination of two sleep medications. I was doing pretty well for the last few years, about seven hours a night. Then suddenly was sleeping poorly. My wife and I tried to eliminate possible causes.

    One was Coke Zero.

Doctor increased one of my meds. No more Coke Zero. And we got a new bed. Sleeping well again.

  5. Only a jury of bozos — not “peers” — could come up with a damages award of $148 million for such a defamation case.

I’m unfamiliar with the case’s details, but if Giuliani really did defame them (including using their names), it’d be worth something like $5,000 apiece.

Only people who are innumerate — which is admittedly a significant fraction of people — would specify $millions for instances like this. Why didn’t they make it $billions while they were at it?

  6. In re: point (3), I would imagine Trump’s daily diet must be something approaching a state secret at this point. Or the equivalent non-state state secret, meaning something kept guarded among his (decidedly non-state) confidants. A wild thought: besides the fact that he may indeed be fond of fast food like that, it could carry the additional advantage of making poisoning marginally less likely than otherwise, as it may be that an assassin who wanted to get him with poison would have to dose quite large batches in order to be assured of exposing him to it. And along with that, of course, would come the factors of random collateral damage among the many other potential and indeed likely victims among the general public. A deep-state snake might not want to run that risk.

  7. The persecution of Rudy Guliani is one of the most profound miscarriages of justice to ever occur in the United States. A priority of the incoming administration must be to end this madness, prosecute the people responsible, and restore this great man’s reputation and wealth.

  8. (2) DEI “anti-racism” training has been found to do more harm than good.

My father, ca. 1975, would have explained to them gratis that what they were planning would make things worse. The purveyors of ‘toughlove’, ca 1980, would have done so for the cost of a trade book. Thos. Sowell would have done so to.
    ==
And they did not just make things worse. They manufactured trouble from next-to-nothing.

  9. Only people who are innumerate — which is admittedly a significant fraction of people — would specify $millions for instances like this. Why didn’t they make it $billions while they were at it?

    A. They’re malicious political partisans and B. They’re stupid.

In truth, scalars should never be determined by civil juries or by judges as fact finders. The decision should be a binary one – liable, not liable. Determining damages should be the work of subsequent hearings in front of a panel of a judge and two assessors, with the assessors drawn from occupations other than law. (Accounting, actuarial work &c).

  10. It what word would some Georgia paper pushers be entitled to $148 MM in damages? Oh, yes, the fantasy world of leftists. Unfortunately, that includes a judge that let it happen. I agree with Art Deco.

  11. There is Diversity (i.e. color judgment, class bigotry): racism, sexism, etc.

And diversity of individuals, minority of one.

The former falls under the Pro-Choice religion adopted in progressive sects exercised with liberal license to deny individual dignity, value, and even life deemed unworthy of life. Deja vu. #HateLovesAbortion
