The very brief and election-motivated “crackdown” by the Biden/Harris administration on illegal aliens entering the country … — 8 Comments

  1. ‘There’s something to be said for shortening the period between elections and inaugurations’

Yes, something like December 10 or at the very latest the first Tuesday in January.

Maybe because it was all definitively decided on election night for the first time in a dozen years but the interval has seemed extremely long this time.

  2. There’s something to be said for shortening the period between elections and inaugurations.

I mean, yeah. In the modern era the results are usually known before Thanksgiving. Certainly certification could happen by Dec 1st and an inauguration sometime in mid December. Despite certain states like Pennsylvania and Arizona evidently struggling with *counting* votes in anything like a timely manner. They would have us believe that their typical vote counter has trouble counting to 21 without taking off their shoes and pants.

  3. As I’ve said before, it seems to me that what motivates Democrats (and Republicans sometimes too) is nothing more complicated than plain old spite. There’s no introspection, no “wow, what are we doing wrong that the voters did not support us,” just a giant middle finger thrust in the face of the American people.

  4. Transparency and sunlight.

The way to counteract something like this is for a major newspaper and/or website or three to begin publicizing lists of misdemeanor crimes and fines average New York citizens are getting prosecuted for. Redact the names (even though they are public information), but list some basic information; “35 year old, professional woman,” “Grandmother,” “Fireman,” “Port authority employee…” and list the crime and fine; “28 year old security guard living on Staten Island arrested for unpaid parking ticket. Fined $500.” “40 year old mother of three, car towed, fines = $250.”

List these on one side of the page and on the other side list all the crimes asylum seekers are not being prosecuted for, or are released for. Also show financial largesse they are receiving from the city in dollars and cents.

Make it very public and easy to understand that the tax paying citizens are being treated far worse, and are subject to more severe treatment from their civil servants than non-citizen, non-tax paying foreigners.

Rent a video billboard in Times Square. Make the citizenry aware.

    Transparency and sunlight.

  5. It will be much cheaper to ship would-be deportees to sanctuary cities like NYC and Denver than back to where they came from. If Denver wants Tren de Aragua, then by all means send them there.

  6. Yeah, sure. Just abuse the US citizens living in places like Denver with more Tren de Aragua.
    Sure.
