What a great cover
Love it. The artist got the facial expression just right, walking the thin line between a gloating smirk and a broad broad smile:

Trump has only been the President-elect for a couple of days and already there are reports of U.S.government officials, and even heads of state changing their tunes, their policies, and their behaviors.
Trump’s reputation precedes him, and it’s got a lot of people scared.
Now that’s power and influence.
Monday someone at my café left a copy of the October issue of Atlantic Magazine on the free paper rack. I guess it was supposed to be a warning to anyone thinking about voting for Trump.
The cover features an ominous image. Against a dark stormy sky Trump is driving a coach towards the White House and wielding a long vicious whip. Inside the coach, behind locked bars, is a frightened elephant.
It is quite a striking image. I’m not the only one to think so:
–“The Atlantic Accidentally Created a ‘Powerful’ Pro-Trump Visual While Trying to Smear Him With Unprecedented Cover”

Yum. Now it’s my souvenir of this epic election.
I remember all the way back to 2016 when “consultants” e.g.Steve Schmidt whom Trump had eschewed were telling us that “demography is destiny”. Bill Kristol, Jonah Goldberg, et al joined the chorus. Trump had taken away their cushy lucrative positions and they never forgave him. Guess what geniuses, Hispanics in Texas voted for Trump!! What say you??
Neo, is that an advance cover from the Washington Examiner? I tried a Google Image Search and the only hit was your site.

The obese and ambitious governor of Illinois, J. B. Pritzker, recently called himself a Happy Warrior, but I think that better describes Trump.
If (heaven forfend) Pritzker becomes the 2028 Dem nominee, it could be J. B. versus J. D.
Dax:
I found it here.
Get used to it, Texas version.
Following up a loose end from before the election.

“Texans run Texas elections, and we will not be bullied by the Department of Justice,” said Attorney General Paxton. “The DOJ knows it has no authority to monitor Texas elections and backed down when Texas stood up for the rule of law. No federal agent will be permitted to interfere with Texas’s free and fair elections.”

I don’t quite like it. The smile-smirk is fine, but the big chin and too big jowls don’t do it for me.
“Tump is ok with it” says my wife. He won, he’s smug, he has hippopotamus skin, not easily offended. (Slovak version of thick skin)
Trump might well say: This is the Best Cover, Ever.
Yes, it’s the Washington Examiner magazine cover.

The cover also reminds me of Elon entering Twitter HQ carrying a sink.
this is a so called Conservative publication, that doesn’t really understand the stakes,
its only about free speech the right to self defense, the survival of the Rule of law, I mean no biggy, there is something even among media on our side, that doesn’t get whats involved,
so they will likely push the likes of Mike Pompeo for example, who went along with the lawfare on the documents case, who tried to have Assange assasinated who did nothing to stop the sabotage of
Trump policies, by rear guard so called resistance figures,
Gotta love the drinking bird in the box.
It seems to me that Trump is in more danger now than before the election. I’m worried about another attempt on his life.
The fields of education, mental health and librarianship are experiencing post-election blues. Some believe SPED funding will be cut to the point of support service personnel positions being eliminated and programs being axed. Many worry that minorities will be targeted. Some are planning their exit from the US.
Neo, Kate, thanks for the replies.
I think it’s a vicious caricature. Would anyone (including the Examiner) publish such an ugly image of Harris, if she had won?
My 2-cents — have to agree w/ neo on the pic. Excellent art ‘n good representation of him in whatever that art form is called.
Was the perfect Final Touch…
PS – forgot to mention had moved WE link into my main news sources area last night…
It’s a political caricature, in the tradition of such. They can be vicious or friendly. To me, this one is clearly friendly and captures a mood I find rather endearing at this point. But it’s a caricature nevertheless.
In re the discussion of whether the caricature of Trump is vicious or friendly: IMO it’s pretty accurate.
Look at the picture heading the Daily Signal post about the Popular Vote Compact.

My first thought was that the artist was hinting at the notorious Pepe the Frog, in the face and neck especially. Trump himselvf used it in a 2015 tweet.
(but let’s not get into the weeds about Pepe, right wingers, conspiracies, etc)

If you look at the legs on the caricature, they are also suggestive of a froggy posture.
My current thought is that Trump looks like Mr. Toad moving back into Toad Hall after the weasels and stoats were ousted.

As many others have posted,Trump needs to be extremely careful about his security, and it needs to be as tight and effective as possible.
Every time one of his plans for reform is broadcast, it alerts another group of potential enemies that his plans might end up harming them—their livelihoods, or their plans.
Thus, it seems to me that the number of people, organizations, and even nations which might want to insure that Trump never enters the White House to be a very effective and disruptive 47 are growing by leaps and bounds.
