Rosh Hashana begins tonight
Jewish holidays begin at sundown and end at sundown, and tonight is the start of Rosh Hashana, which is the Jewish New Year. It couldn’t come at a more appropriate time.
Out with the horror of last year, in with new beginnings and new hope.
What year is it in the Jewish calendar? 5785.
L’Shana tova to all celebrating, with hopes for a good year to come.
What Kate said…May all receive peace, blessings, and good health.
Same from me. I was once a member of the Young Mens Jewish Counsel, the YMCA did not have a basketball court
L’Shana tova to all and here’s to a healthy and prosperous 5786!
(Michael K, some Catholic friends and I pretended to be interested in converting to the Baptist faith because we heard a Minister would let us play basketball on his church’s lit, indoor court (a big deal in Chicago’s long winters) if we’d listen to him preach for a few minutes after every game.)
I approve those messages!
Especially sending prayers for the safety of our commenters BenDavid and Ilana, and other family and friends in Israel.
Happy New Year to neo and all the Jewish commenters here!
