Biden’s not having a good week — 41 Comments

  1. You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

I personally find it hard to do this one and really mean it. However, since I think COVID at this point is no more or less serious for a man Biden’s age than a cold or flu is, and I sincerely hope he doesn’t need much in the way of prayers.

I do wonder though, about what prayers might be offered right now, to Moloch, or in front of Fauci prayer candles, and for what outcome do they pray.

  2. Cancelling a major speech because he has what amounts to a mild case of sniffles at this point seems like an excess of caution. The infection’s danger level is now on a par with a wide variety of respiratory infections. If he’s really quite ill with it, that’s another matter.

  3. I am not buying he has covid as much as his dementia is keeping him shut up and stop talking. But if he does, Get better Joe, we’re counting on you making that acceptance speech in a month

Seen rumors on web Xi in China had a very bad stroke

  4. I think Biden has the new Convenient strain. You know, the new universal excuse for not showing up.

  5. “You’re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations,” – Joe BIden July 2021

  6. Does he really have COVID?

or is it just an excuse to not go out and give a speech which might further show how far gone his mind is?

  7. Joe is being forced to show up and work as he hasn’t for years.

    But at what cost?

  8. @Gregory Harper: I saw that video, I thought it was oversold, like most of them. He’s a very old man with good days and bad days. I don’t think he’s up to being an effective President, and I think his inner circle and the next few circles out are well aware of this, and that’s why they want a different nominee. Like I said in other threads, I don’t think it’s because they think Biden will lose, I think it’s because they don’t want to be stuck with him for four years (at best; President Harris at worst).

  9. “You’re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations,” – Joe BIden July 2021

Guess you shouldn’t get your medical advice from Dr. Biden.

  10. I don’t think it’s because they think Biden will lose

    Niketas Choniates:

That’s not what the Joe Must Go Democrats are saying. They do think Biden will lose. And they fear what will happen in down-ballot races and the consequent fate of the House and Senate.

    Sensible concerns.

Plus they have a pretty good idea that Trump 47 will decapitate as much of the Deep State as he can, go lawfare on some Democrats and close the border.

    I sure hope so.

  11. huxley @ 9:04pm,

I sincerely worry about that. That and the drugs they appear to be jacking him up on. What might it do to an old and feeble man to be erratically dosed on stimulants, sometimes more than once a day? It doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility that this could cause physical harm to Biden.

  12. @huxley:That’s not what the Joe Must Go Democrats are saying. They do think Biden will lose.

I know some are saying so. But they can’t say “we have the election all sewn up because of all the rule changes we pushed through and all the cheating we plan to do, so it doesn’t matter if Biden is brain-dead or dead-dead by then”. That has to be said after the election, just like they did in 2021 when they had the article bragging about “fortification”. I wish I didn’t have to read the news like it was Pravda, but here we are.

I think they are saying that to a non-insider audience to help put pressure on Biden to make way for someone else, but no one can agree on who that someone is, and they can’t say publicly what their real motivation is. We know these guys are not honest when they describe what they think, remember how quickly Obama “evolved” on gay marriage? But my progressive friends, when I challenged them on Obama’s “opposition” to gay marriage, were uniformly confident that he was just saying that for the election, and they were right.

I don’t have any of them on video copping to it, of course. But if this election is lost, it will be lost in WI, PA, and MI, that is the Electoral College math. And it really troubles me that the right side of the house is so busy talking about the public narrative and not the hard facts. It happened last time.

Their work touched every aspect of the election. They got states to change voting systems and laws and helped secure hundreds of millions in public and private funding. They fended off voter-suppression lawsuits, recruited armies of poll workers and got millions of people to vote by mail for the first time. They successfully pressured social media companies to take a harder line against disinformation and used data-driven strategies to fight viral smears. They executed national public-awareness campaigns that helped Americans understand how the vote count would unfold over days or weeks, preventing Trump’s conspiracy theories and false claims of victory from getting more traction. After Election Day, they monitored every pressure point to ensure that Trump could not overturn the result.

  13. I know some are saying so. But they can’t say “we have the election all sewn up because of all the rule changes we pushed through and all the cheating we plan to do,

    Niketas Choniates:

It must be convenient to know what people are really thinking.

Sadly, I lack that ability and so I make my inferences based on what they say and what they do.

Democrats say they believe Biden will lose and act like they believe Biden will lose.

  14. @huxley:It must be convenient to know what people are really thinking.

I disclaim that, but my scenario also fits the available facts.

Democrats say they fear Biden will lose and act like they fear Biden will lose.

And you know this from—the media, that you know constructs narratives that are not for your benefit. You know Democrat politicians are not honest about their objectives and intentions. And you know they knew all about last election’s “fortifications” and bragged when it was over in Time magazine about what they’d done.

But hey, you know, if I’m wrong that’s a good thing. I’m just letting you know where I think it’s going wrong in plain sight. People don’t want to read it they can scroll past. I won’t be any happier on November 6 if I am right, that’s for sure, but maybe we’ll learn not to look where the media is telling us to look.

  15. The COVID is an excuse for him to quit the race. He said is Doctors say he must then he must. Unfortunately, he will still be Prez until Jan.

  16. I disclaim [I know what people are really thinking.]

    Niketas Choniates:

That sure seemed to be what you were saying..

I know some are saying so .[but …]

    I dislike mindreading.

  17. @huxley: Nice ellipsis. I said they can’t say something if it were what they really thought, not that I had psychic knowledge that it was what they really thought. No point to truncate, it’s already there for anyone to read.

    I dislike mindreading.

I explicitly said, every time, that “I think” this is what is going on, not that I knew it through mindreading. It is wrong for you to pretend I said something that I explicitly said the opposite of. Maybe you’re just not that engaged to read closely, and that’s fine.

I think his inner circle and the next few circles out…
I think it’s because they don’t want to be stuck…
I think they are saying that to a non-insider audience…

  18. Maybe they will diagnose him with Bird Flu next…..or assign him Trump’s Secret Service team from Butler.

  19. Biden had to be even more ill if he watched the J.D. Vance speech tonight. A bit too long for my tastes, but the man can give a speech.

Young, vigorous, intelligent, and LIKABLE. What a contrast with Kackling Kamala.

I’m feeling good about this pick.

  20. If he’s really ill, this would be a good opportunity for some person or persons to apply a pillow over his face. Would you really put it past them?

  21. Point is not Biden. Point is keeping the cabal running him/things in power. Any dem will do, considering the Margin of Fraud. Except Biden for whom the MoF is likely insufficient.

  22. 26 comments about Joe running/not running/dropping out/who knows and nowhere does the word “Jill” appear.

I suspect “Jill” may be more of a factor keeping Joe in than is immediately apparent.

  23. I saw a post saying Dems have been trying to convince the governor of Pennsylvania to run as VP with Kamala at the top of the ticket. He has so far declined. Why commit political suicide when he can wait until 2028 and run for president?

  24. I agree with Shirehome, the COVID is just the followup needed after he said only for medical reasons will he quit.

Gone by next week. Vivek had an interview with Megyn in which he said, and listed some very good reasons, that the Ds will wait until after the GOP convention to boot Joe out. He bets the nominee will be Michelle with Harris still as VP, but admits he could be wrong on this. I’ll agree with Niketas that this is far from over, but not for the “math” reasons he states. Anecdotal evidence: my wife is very MotR and always expresses a pox on both sides. Much as I hate to say it, I can see her voting D if someone other than Biden is heading the ticket. And I know several other family members who would do the same. When a person assumes ALL politicians are crap as their basic starting point, then Trump does not come out on top when compared to a “newcomer” like Michelle or others.

  25. Unless it kills him I can’t see COVID as being the reason Biden quits. It’s more likely just an excuse to get him off the campaign trail for an extended period so he doesn’t shot himself in the foot any more.

I’m wavering but still thinking Biden is going to be on the ticket through November (absent something truly extraordinary happening) I still don’t see a way that Harris stays on the ticket as VP but Biden gets replaced. It’s possible as she may want to keep her options open for 2028 if Trump wins but at this point selling that Biden shouldn’t continue as the Presidential candidate but is ok to serve as President for six more months is going to be a tough sell. I definitely don’t see Harris as willing to step in for six months and then go back to the VP chair, and bypassing her even for Michelle Obama is going to cause an uproar. It might attract some MotR folks as physicsguy states but I suspect the manipulation of the succession will look distasteful to just as many, plus there’s Michelle’s total lack of both experience and evidently any desire to serve (as opposed to being coronated.)

  26. The damage that “Biden” will continue to do…no matter what happens:

    “Censorship noose tightens across West with Biden White House, Trudeau’s Canada, EU bureaucrat moves;
“The White House recently appointed a censorship advocate to the office known for repeatedly giving marching orders to social media platforms on content the White House dislikes.”—
    https://justthenews.com/nation/free-speech/censorship-noose-tightens-across-west-biden-white-house-trudeaus-canada-eu

The West has, somehow, become Klaus Shwab’s sandbox….

  27. In a (rather extended and very cogent) nutshell:

    “The 2024 political war is just beginning;
“The Democratic party has rigged the system”—
    https://unherd.com/2024/07/america-is-at-war-with-itself/
    H/T Powerline blog.
    Key graf (RTWT):

…[T]he Democratic Party is a well-functioning, massively-funded, centrally-directed machine, capable — as it did in 2020 — of rewriting election laws to its advantage and banking millions of absentee ballots in advance of the election. By contrast, the Republican Party is a ramshackle, decentralised affair whose local worthies tend to be car dealers or pillow salesmen rather than corporate Ivy League types and lawyers. The structural imbalance between the parties has suggested that Democrats could run a cardboard cut-out of Taylor Swift for the presidency in 2024 and still win — especially given the immutable presence of the polarising Trump at the top of the Republican ticket. In fact, some polls showed Biden doing better against Trump after his doddering debate performance….

  28. this horse is going to the glue factory, last time they had riots and covid as the air cover, this time what squirrel will they wrestle,

  29. I guess biology, physiology, and neurochemistry just can’t be denied or sidelined. I thought Biden was going to make it, but every day shows him to be weaker and more confused than he was the day before, so the more he tries to dig himself out of the hole the deeper he gets.

How presentable can the Democrats make Harris look? I see ads lately with her asking for donations, even on sites I took to be right of center. She’s not very impressive. I suppose that for people who are willing to vote for Biden she’s an acceptable replacement.

Harris needs to improve if she wants to win, and doesn’t seem like the sort of person who takes advice or direction willingly. She seems more like the sort of person who wants to hear how wonderful she is, somebody who’d pass up hard truths in favor of keeping the fan girl circle around her going.

I don’t see Michelle Obama suddenly starting to talk real politics — issues and policies. It’s too much of a stretch for her. It’s a hard pivot for Kamala too, but not nearly so hard as it would be for Michelle.

  30. COVID is there nothing it can’t do. He’ll have COVID until the convention. The question should really be does he have COVID for real, to hide from Democrats until the convention, or is it a plot to Garner sympathy?

  31. Schumer and Jefferies both have been exposed to COVID will they self quarantine?

  32. Schumer and Jefferies both have been exposed to COVID will they self quarantine?

And how come FJB wasn’t wearing a mask while getting on the plane in Nevada? I mean, masks are bullshit, but he and his pals have been banging that drum for over 4 years now.
