Many folks are aware of Trump’ June 6 San Francisco fundraiser hosted by venture capitalists David Sacks and Chamath Palihapitiya. However, most probably have not heard of the observations about Trump that Sacks and Palihapitiya made after the fundraiser, in their popular & influential “All-In” podcast ^^.
^^ = Features 4 CA venture capitalists – 2 who are not Trump supporters, 1 who was a Romney (2012), Clinton (2016), none (2020), DeSantis (2024) supporter [Sacks], and 1 who has identified himself as a Democrat in the recent past [Palihapitiya].
1) Found the following observations about Trump’s ‘Style & Substance’ notable:
• Trump’ ability to speak extemporaneously on a variety of topics, his awareness, and his stamina.
• The gap between how the media tries to portray Trump and what he is like in person.
• Trump is not just pro-American, he is also pro-innovation.
• Trump encouraged people to ask questions and share their thoughts, which led to a roundtable discussion on various topics.
• Trump was smart to pivot on some topics (not Trump supporter observation in podcast).
2) Enjoyed the story that Palihapitiya told about how Trump joked with him after he was introduced to Palihapitiya’ attractive wife: Nice looking couple. You must be very rich.
• Understand that the ‘New Yorker’ persona is not for everyone; however, it is authentic and there are no fake accents or Walter Mitty/ Forrest Gump-esque claims – plus, he is able to connect with a wide range of citizens, from the Blue Collar to the Billionaires, and non-traditional Republican candidate supporters.
3) For me Trump is not the best of two bad candidates, Trump is one of the best candidates in my lifetime – Republican or Democrat – and I do not need the current MSM, Historians, Think Tanks, Credentialed & Clearance Class to tell me that (see the Trump Doctrine, and First Term success).
Forty years ago the heading would have been “Happy Father’s Day. Did you get that collect call yet?”

Churchgoing dads in category A will find an agreeable insert in the bulletin or letter in the narthex to complement the effusive mother’s day sermon last month. Those in category B will receive dead silence to complement last month’s mothers day sermon. Those in category C will get the Harry-Chapin-Cat’s-in-the-Cradle sermon.
Two of my five kids have called/texted so far. They are the two I least hear from so it was nice.
Happy Father’s Day, Gary Plauche!
And to all the other dads / father figures out there!
