Grrr – Wm. Sullivan at American Thinker mentions the Hur report on Biden, claiming that “the Robert Hur investigation report dropped, in which Biden was described by the special investigator as a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”
No! That description was what Hur imagined the jury would think of Biden, on the way to finding him not guilty! It was not a conclusion reached by Hur, but an excuse for not prosecuting him because of likely jury nullification!
“…sympathetic, well-meaning…”
Somebody ought to have some fun with that…e.g, “Sicc ‘im Commander, go boy, git ‘im…that’s me boy! He is THE smartest dog I know….”
Neo, I beg your pardon. But he ain’t singing in your post!
I do not listen to pop music, so I am behind the 8-ball. But Bluegrass, YES!
Today I got a Father’s Day email from my niece.
If you want to know why I lost weight and learned French, it was partly for her. I wanted her to know that adults can make positive changes in their lives.
She hasn’t seen a lot of that.
Good on ya, Huxley.
Steve Goodman can sing, in his own style, but he writes kick-ass songs! A little quirky, but I’m sorry he died young.
Looked Goodman up. He wrote “City of New Orleans”, inter alia. Died of leukemia at a young age.
RE: With SpaceX Elon Musk really means business–
Musk, among other prominent individuals, has said that it is imperative that human beings get off of this very vulnerable planet, and become true spacefarers, colonizing our solar system and, then, moving outward to the stars.
To illustrate just how serious Musk is about his drive to get off of Earth, I’ve just stumbled upon a video record of the frenetic, choreographed, 24/7 activity at the SpaceX launch site, over just the last week, as they are taking the steps to prepare for the next immanent launch of their Starship .*
That was my grandfather, whose one personal extravagance, after he made his money, was a Thunderbird. I don’t have a lot of regrets, but not knowing him better is one.
In an interview Cohn said that it was when he first saw his father in a T-Bird, he suddenly realized his old man was cool. 🙂
There are a lot of guys who bust their humps for their families and don’t get a lot of appreciation.
I take the point that candidate AI Steve would strictly follow the dictates of his constituents — democracy! — however I was taken aback by Steve’s consequent priorities:
Here are the issues AI Steve’s constituents are most concerned with:
____________________________________________
Voters’ top issues so far, according to those calls, were (in order of importance):
* Concerns about the safety of Palestinians
* trash bins
* bicycle lanes
* immigration
* and abortion

So that’s what happens for an AI pol in a district of vocal progressives.
Another great father tribute:
But his blood runs through my instrument and his song is in my soul

A happy day to all you fathers!
Steve Goodman can’t sing, but he can play his guitar.
Cicero:
In this particular song, his voice reflects the fact that he is overcome with emotion.
He can sing just fine.
Loved Steve Goodman. Song with the same name by the late great Jerry Jeff Walker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jVGw0ApVH0

Thanks, F!
Maybe my favorite father tribute song was by Marc Cohn:

The man with the plan and the pocket comb…
Down the road in the rain and snow
The man and his machine would go
Oh the secrets that old car would know
I still hear him saying
Don’t you gimme no Buick
Son you must take my word
If there’s a God up in Heaven
He’s got a silver Thunderbird

A nice post from Professor Turley. Lovely pictures of the scenery and wildlife.

Happy Father’s Day to everyone who had a dad.
Which is all of us.
And to those who are Dads –
It’s a challenging role!
For Snow on Pine especially:

huxley
I’m not one of them. My wife and daughter made me feel pretty special today. Nothing big, but the emotions and feelings run deep.
Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers here.
And especially for huxley:

I think I would vote for him!
