  1. Has Joe Biden ever had a good idea?
    _______

I can’t remember who did the poll in DC, but I recall that Biden was regularly chose as the dumbest senator. And he pretty clearly was.

  2. People are delusional.

Trump will ‘lose’ to Biden by a wider margin than last time.

  3. markey was perhaps one of the dimmest in the house, but it really is an embarrassment of riches, fetterman seems to have improved cognition casey seems to be a cipher,

  4. miguel+cervantes, Pennsylvania politicians come in three categories: crooks, hacks, and cunning opportunists. Only in the past six years or so have the fanatics been elected (Wild, Lee, Gainey, Krasner, etc.).

Casey is a hack, Specter was a cunning opportunist, and it appears that Fetterman leans that way as well.

  5. Trump is likely going to win, barring a major October surprise or a ‘switcheroo’ (which I do think is still possible). I do think the right overestimates the amount of voter fraud that occurs and the capabilities of Democrats in that regard. Not that fraud isn’t a big problem. It certainly is and it likely has swayed a few elections for the Democrats. Did it in 2020? Maybe. We’ll never know conclusively.

But most signs are indicating a comfortable Trump win. I think he’ll win the popular vote by maybe 2% or so? And I think he’ll take most or all of the swing states and one surprise (Virginia, Minnesota or New Hampshire). The margins will be too large for fraud to overcome).

But of course, that’s not the end of the matter. Just because Trump ‘wins’ on election day, doesn’t mean he’ll be allowed to take office. Democrat lawfare, intimidating members of the Electoral College, refusal to certify results, challenges in Congress to the electoral votes….etc. I expect all of the above and more.

  6. Ackler,

Most of what you say is true but I still remember the Red Wave of 2022 that never happened. These polls are beyond worthless.

And the ‘switcheroo’ as you call it will definitely kill any chance Trump has. Harris, Newsom, whoever will destroy Trump and it doesn’t matter how awful they are because then it is strictly a referendum on Trump and he loses that period. The age issue is now flipped on Trump without Biden also.

  7. Griffin:

I also remember the red wave that wasn’t, and it gives me pause.

But neither Harris nor Newsom poll we’ll against Trump.

  8. neo,

‘But neither Harris nor Newsom poll well against Trump’

But Biden doesn’t poll well against him either. I just don’t buy these polls at all.

  9. Griffin,

I agree about Newsom and pretty much any other prominent Democrat except Harris. She’s completely hopeless. Trump would likely beat her by the same margin he’ll likely beat Brandon. But any other Democrat, you’re right: the age issue is flipped and this will become a referendum on Trump.

As to 2022, there were many factors for the disappointing results; abortion being one of the biggest. It’s still an issue and Democrats will pound it incessantly. But two years out from Dobbs, it is dying down significantly.

Lastly, Israel and Gaza. There is simply no way for Brandon to satisfy two crucial components of the Democrat base on this issue. This is going to reduce the youth turnout especially. Not that they’ll shift to Trump, but rather stay home or vote third party.

  10. Griffin:

But you were indicating that either Harris or Newsom would do BETTER against Trump than Biden. My point is that I see nothing indicating they would do better.

Winning against Trump is something else, and if fraud is part of it then of course they could win or Biden could win.

  11. I still think it will Biden as the Dem candidate, and for the reasons already spelled out – his arrogance and lust for power; Jill’s lust for power and perks; the manipulators and string-pullers in his administration who surely assume they wouldn’t have anywhere near this influence in a Newsom admin.

And the last point applies to Kamala, as well. However much of a disaster she would be, I just don’t see HER arrogance and lust for power putting up with the manipulation applied to Biden. Something would eventually burst, a fight would break out, and they all know that the power of the office alone is enough for her to win that fight.

Joe’s feebleness may prove me wrong, but I still think it is Biden vs Trump in November.

  12. (5) I, for one, feel a tad sorry for Biden. If he wasn’t such an all-around sleaze bag, I would feel more sorry for him.

You see, I see myself in his doddering, forgetful, decrepit persona. Seven years ago, I was still a man of some energy and showed little, if any, slowness in my gait. Age has caught up with me. It happens to different people at different times. It caught up with Joe earlier than me. I see him, and I cringe because it’s what I look like today. It’s cruel to prop him up and say he’s in great shape. It’s also stupid. We need a POTUS who has all his faculties and can give 110%.

I am more confident about Trump’s chances because I think the RNC is doing things differently this time. They have trained more than 100,000 people to be poll watchers and vote checkers for this election. In addition, they have filed 83 legal actions aimed at stopping illegal aliens, dead people, and other illegal voters from voting. Will this help? It sure can’t hurt. We know their tactics from 2020. The RNC is aiming to reduce the cheating in the swing states.

Stop the fraud and I think Trump wins.

  13. Allan Lichtman says “There would have to be a lot to happen for Biden to lose the White House.” His 13 keys have gotten the Presidential election right 9 times out of 10.

  14. Jill Biden is obsessed with being Edith Wilson for another four years.

  15. One common trait of the trash donkey party is literally anything can come out of lying hole in their face. Example Gavin Newsom. Example Janet Yellen.

  16. Incumbents do tend to pull up in the last month even without fraud so if I were Trump I wouldn’t be overconfident.
    __________

Last time I checked Lichtman saw no serious foreign policy failings during Biden’s term, and that was a big reason why he saw a Biden victory as likely. Now he does see foreign policy failures and lack of foreign policy successes during the Biden years. He still sees the short term and long term economic outlook benefiting Biden and gives Biden credit for policy changes and a lack of scandals. Biden’s team is going to sell him based on those perceptions, but much of that is simply pretend hoo-haw.

The policy changes are mostly shams — charging stations that aren’t built, bridges that aren’t anywhere near being repaired, high speed internet that hasn’t been delivered, and insulin price cuts that Trump was delivering anyway — and the scandals are in the way he’s been persecuting his opponents. Plenty of voters, though, will agree with Lichtman and the Bidenites.
    __________

Biden wants to be president. He has wanted to be president all his life. He told his first wife’s mother as much. It may be awkward and painful to watch him, but this has been his lifelong dream. The way that failed primary candidates continue their campaigns is also awkward and painful, but people recognize that they could stop at any time, so why all the pity and pathos with Biden?

  17. Abraxas

Do not underestimate the gullibility of the average American voter.

  18. “Fairest, Most Transparent Elections(TM), Yadda, Yadda”, updated…

“Puerto Rico’s primary elections just experienced hundreds of voting irregularities related to electronic voting machines, according to the Associated Press.
“Luckily, there was a paper trail so the problem was identified and vote tallies corrected….”—

  19. “…with dismay.”

More like “Holy crap! How’re we ever gonna be able to cover THAT up??”

Of course, the answer is simple: “TRUMP! You know—the traitor (for Russia) who’s a felon 34 times over….” blasted 24/7 all over the country…and around the globe.

  20. I suppose it’s possible to pity Granma Jill. She’s a lot like a typical Philly housewife who got caught up in the Biden family’s antics and is now in way over her head. But she did choose the life she’s having. Same thing with Old Joe. Neither of them wanted to take the off-ramp or wants to take it now.
