The Biden administration and Israel — 31 Comments

  1. Isn’t this just the Biden proposal from last week? You know, the one that came from Hamas but Biden claimed came from Israel?

”…Biden’s main focus these days is to end the war as quickly as possible. To achieve this goal, he is applying pressure on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to capitulate to Hamas’s demands for a permanent ceasefire.”

Isn’t this what Trump wants to do to Ukraine? To “end” the war as quickly as possible by applying pressure to Zelensky to capitulate to Russia’s demands?

Of course neither war will end that way. It will only bring more death and misery.

  2. Bush (1989–1993)

    Clinton (1993–2001)

    Bush restoration (2001–2009)

    Obama (2009–2017)

    Trump/failed Clinton restoration (2017–2021)

    Obama restoration (2021–2025)

Trump restoration or Obama restoration, part 2 (2025–2019)

    Ugh.

  3. I’d like to see Hamas give up a lot more to get a peace treaty. Frankly, it looks like to me that Hamas has gained a lot from this war, idiots in the US actually supporting their horrific attack, the money from the failed dock and aid from other countries. Whatever Hamas gets as conditions they should be able to be easily verifiable.

  4. So are the Deep State Islamophiles trying to get ‘er done in case The Great Orange Whale returns and makes their life’s work inconvienient again?

It was inconvienient for them in 2017-2021. They can do a lot of damage to the world before January 2025. For global justice don’t you know.

  5. its not a peace treaty its a hudna as in hudabiya, there was one from june 21, until october 7th, of last year, hostages ‘living or dead’ shirley they can’t be serious, oh but they are,

  6. I’d like to see Hamas at the bottom of the sea; marched off the humanitarian pier to meet Nemo.

  7. Marxists are against Israel, many of the administration are Barky’s minions and everyone of them is against Israel.

  8. Concerning a Biden second term: I’m just done and have checked out. I’ll vote for Trump, but, countries do not change their course without invasion or civil war, generally. If anyone knows of a country that has, other than Sparta please post it.

  9. Wow, Biden might be pushing Israel out from under US patronage and under Russian patronage. Heck of a job there. It’s a sad day when Russia is a better friend to Israel in the UN Security Council than the US is.

  10. Richard F. Cook – Argentina 2024

Regarding Israel, Joe Brandon f’s up everything he touches.

  11. Does israel have an ally in western europe maybe italy holland certainly not france or germany

  12. Junior

I would say that East Germany was the indirect result of revolt in the USSR, as was Poland. I’m not familiar with Mongolia.

  13. Those terms are completely unacceptable. Israel is the violated party, here. Gaza is the one interested in genocide, not Israel. Gaza delenda est!

Unlikely. That is what the left has liked to claim and I will admit Trump’s statements have been vague and unhelpful on the matter both due to a mixture of his contrarian tendencies and the need to keep the tensions from boiling over as well as the fact he likely isn’t focusing on it as much, but I doubt it. Even the Minsk “Agreements” (which are already subject to massive PR facelifts and revisionism to try and make it more palatable) which definitely saw Obama and the EU force the Ukrainians to a compromise did not demand a full capitulation and proved ultimately rather toothless as both sides (and especially the Kremlin) violated it.

Moreover Trump’s wider economic policy involved on stealing Russia’s lunch money, out competing them in hydrocarbons sales to Europe and elsewhere, the opposite of what Obama and Biden were doing with them and have done with Iran and propose to do with the various Islamist Allies.

  15. Nothing new for the ComPost, miguel. They ran an op-ed years ago saying basically the same thing, there was no peace in the Middle East because not enough Jews were being killed.

  16. Was listening to a NYC radio program yesterday morning (770 AM) and they discussed the results of a new poll that showed that 60% of Jewish voters will support Biden.
I do not know of any details of the poll.
They did mention that many of the 60% are secular Jewish folks.

This should not be a surprise
    .
Just look at, say, Chicago, where the black on black crime is off the charts and the black voters there keep re-electing leftist liberal mayors who do absolutely nothing about the crime and welcome thousands of illegals.
Or look at NYC where the voters there keep re-electing leftist mayors who do zero about crime and welcome thousands of illegals.
The voters in Calif. seem to like the policies of their leftist political leaders ; after all, they keep re-electing them.

Just to repeat yet again; the greatest danger a representative democracy faces are the voters, freely and willingly, voting for a national suicide.

Speaking of Hunter Biden; he has nothing at all to worry about. The day after the election, his father will pardon him.
Really, the only question is if the judge will arrange to send him to jail in November (how convenient for Hunter) or have him begin jail time sooner.
Of course, the judge could instead sentence him “house arrest,” community service, and have him pay a fine, etc., in lieu of jail time.

  17. John Tyler:

Biden has considerably less support from Jewish voters than in 2020. See this. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Also, the usual caution about polls in general. My guess is that the poll may be undersampling the most religious Jews, who are something like 90% for Trump and Republicans. Most Jews in the US live in very blue places – very blue, that is, even among non-Jews there – such a NYC and LA. At this point, they may be supporting Biden somewhat less than the average voters in these towns.

  18. If anyone knows of a country that has, other than Sparta please post it.

Argentina, El Salvador, Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Georgia . . . .

  19. There was a poll a couple months ago showing a majority of Jews in New York State voting for Trump. It may be not be contradictory, I saw a poll with results like those cited by John but it was a nationwide poll of Jews.

  20. “Rome wasn’t built in a day”

Construction desperately needs to accelerate. O’Biden, besides undermining Israel at the UN, is grimly determined to finance Iran so they can murder Jews all over the world. Any Jew not voting for Trump should cut out the middleman and just put a loaded gun to their head and pull the trigger.

  21. I think Biden’s (or his puppet handlers’) primary animus is toward Netanyahu. They hate him like the left here hates Trump. If someone they liked were leading the country I suspect they would be more deferential. They are using the war to undermine him. Of course they are also instinctively appeasers and would be cozying up with Iran anyway, but the idea that they can topple Netanyahu is pushing them even farther in that crazy direction.

This goes back to Clinton, at least. Israel was a favorite of the left until they ended Socialism. Winning the Arab wars was, of course, part of it. But Israel prosperity has shown up the disastrous Arab economies. Trump is hated partly because he made us energy independent and the Arabs lost their leverage.

  23. Well clinton pressed barak to make this stupid deal with arafat i think some in ws administration pushed olmert to a lesser degree after sharon had passed but the latter knew there was an interval before obama took over and hillary was the handmaiden she forced the ceasefire back in 2014 which led to this point now

  24. certainly the propalestinian end of the party was represented by jesse jackson in the 80s, even though he lost the nomination contest in 1984 and 1988, he won the war, in the 90s, and later into the future, he like Jeremiah Wright was a guest of the Cuban government, and other leftist elements, back in 2001, Robert Malley and his Palestinian confrere
Agha, were on the outskirts of the intelligentsia, refusing Barak’s reasonable profile, his Hamas support along with other Salafi elements, made him radioactive, to the Dem above board, but Obama still put him as part of the negotiating team of the Iran deal, Wendy Sherman and Kerry were the front
men, this was around the time they put this qatari iranian spy ring in place,

\by the 00s, the party had drifted farther left, I’m old enough to remember when beinart pretended be a pro zionist, that was around 2005, but that gig didn’t paythe New Republic that used to represent sensible liberals, went completely nutroots under Chris Hughes, an associate of Zuckeberg, and steinhardt buying it back seems not to have ended the rot,

  25. Irish Otter

The countries in the Soviet sphere got independence via the USSRs collapse. They were not free countries in any sense. Technically El Salvador had an extreme crime problem. Their war took place in the 80’s. I think Argentina is the only one the really qualifies.
