Video of the hostage rescue — 49 Comments

  1. And so of course Gantz bails and burns the bridge between him and Netanyahu.

What the actual hell is going on with the crazy left?

  2. Gantz is a putz, as are his US puppetmasters. None of them know what they’re doing, really, since their plans blow up in their faces. Let them carry on in this manner and the Israeli people will thwart them right down the line.

  3. I revise my earlier statement about the Army saying, now –> “Smoke ’em if you find ’em.”

    Good job.

  4. he knows what hes doing there was a gantz when the Jews were captured in Egypt at the start of the Babylonian captivity

  5. a great day for all decent men, those who find fault in this, well they have removed all doubt,

  6. I hear some Russian in this video, supposedly addressing one of the hostages, advising him to lay low

  7. at least one hostage is of Russian origin, probably some of the troops as well Argamani is apparently of Chinese heritage,

  8. Seems like poor timing for Gantz.

The Biden/deep state types are operating on deeply flawed assumptions and beliefs which causes them to fuck up.

It seems to me Biden’s gambit of claiming it was an “Israeli peace plan” backfired, since it failed to move the needle and further showed everyone what they are up to and that they are not to be trusted. Fools and knaves.

  9. Amazing! Lucky that only one Israeli was killed.
I do have a question: One of the soldiers had something on his back like a back pack but not.
Is that some protective personal armor?

  10. Fire discipline by the IDF; but I’d heard they were all bloodthirsty cowards. (sarc x 11)

    Hamashites, spray and inshahlla?

Smoke ’em indeed. Lite ’em up.

  11. SHIREHOME,

I’d have to rewatch the video, but IDF does use a little pack that attaches to the back of the plate carrier. It doesn’t look easy to remove by the soldier so the probably rely upon the buddy system.

  12. inshallah, god wills it, became ojala in spanish, that seven hundred year diversion,
which was why my nic, fought the Turks at Lepanto,

  14. What a beautiful video.

    putz –
    noun
    1. a stupid or worthless person.

    Yep, that’s Gantz alright.

  15. Biden was against the Bin Ladin raid. He and the rest of his administration are against these raids to free hostages, whether for cynical political reasons or true beliefs.

The spokespeople have not addressed the ones currently or even American hostages being held while Biden says he is focused on their return.

Actually, this raid is nearly a direct mirror retribution for the Oct. 7th attack. The news articles speak of people going about their day when it occurred. Suddenly an attack where civilians are killed and people are taken away (returned to their families).

The difference is that there was a cease fire in effect on Oct.7th and a war for this raid. The news sees and speaks nothing about how this was all the fault of the happenings on Oct. 7th. Everything is just in a vacuum of “apartheid” which colors their world.

  16. There needs to be shock. The rescuers will be unailable to tell hostages from terrorists. That needs sorting out later. This may be a reading from the Book Of Obvious. The shock starts with the command voice. The escalation of force moves up from there.

  17. Actually the escalation of force continuum starts with presence

  18. At least that’s how it worked in Rugby. Which is a brawl followed by a kegger. If I seem to be making light of war, believe me I’m not. It’s no-game. I practically grew up in a Navy hospital during the Vietnam War. I saw tthe horribly maimed and burned Sailors and Marines I didn’t see the dead because you have to be alive to be in a hospital. I became a young expert in artificial limbs. So if I seem flippant it’s because I’ve been doing this a long time

  19. It’s because of my formative experiences I don’t leave home without a first aid kit that would do a developing country hospital proud. I now live in fear. And it keeps me sharp.

I have three first aid kits. My backpack kit. My driving around kit. And my chainsaw kit.

I hope I don’t come across wrong. I only want to render aid if I’m needed.

  20. @eeyore mood:Actually, this raid is nearly a direct mirror retribution for the Oct. 7th attack.

Minus the rapes, kidnappings and uploaded amateur videos of same by the perpetrators.

  21. I always find Richard Fernandez (Belmont Club) a good informative read. Here’s his latest piece on the hostage rescue. As I recall, Fernandez, a Filipino, had some background in the anti-Marcos underground:
    ______________________________________________________

Part of me wants to know how the assault force achieved the surprise needed to forestall hostage execution in two separate locations. They had to make entry practically simultaneously at a mutually optimal moment. Since I can’t know, I will guess. The rescue operation elements may have seemed to be part of the random environment until the rescue moment. The key disadvantage of holding hostages in populated areas is that Hamas cannot entirely prevent random and ambient access by the public to places nearby, access the IDF can exploit by continuously flowing assets through the vicinity. The presence of civilians cuts both ways. It provides human shielding against an assault force but can also conceal those same elements.

    ______________________________________________________

When I read the reports of the hostage rescue, I was trying to imagine the complexity of the effort in middle of an Hamas-controlled area.

Truly precision work, walking a knife-edge.

  22. Did we miss the babies being burned alive, Hamashite corpses being desecrated, looting, etc? No? Maybe it wasn’t anything like 10/7/23 or maybe “eeyore mood” forgot his “sarc x 11” flag.

  23. I train every day. October 7;proves why it’s necessary. Bushido teaches you can’t choose to be brave on the battlefield and not in the tatami mat. The tatami being the comfort of your home. Because you just never know the time and place

  24. @Imsorrysteve57i:Bushido teaches you can’t choose to be brave on the battlefield and not in the tatami mat.

This information may be of use to you, though I do not vouch for its accuracy.

  25. Part of you, huxley, wants to know. Another part needs to know better. So the Israelis can pull it off again.

  26. I hope you don’t think I suggest you or anyone here is stupid. Maintaining OPSEC is a constant battle. It’s so easy to let your guard down. Loose lips really do sink ships. I need reminders too.

  27. Why does the algorithm keep adding? I started out as steve57. Then I I became Im Sorry Steve 57. Mow I’m “imsorrysteve57ihope.” Can someone make this stop?

  28. steve57:

    * Change your name in Name textbox below your comment.
    * Make sure “Save my name, email…” checkbox is checked.

    That should do it.

  29. Maybe I want someone to find me. I’ve been looking for revenge since 9 11. I know it’s bad. Maybe someday I’ll get over it. But not just yet.

  30. The rear armor attachment seen in the video comes from planners, it’s obvious they were expecting fire from all directions.

  31. When I went through SERE I was with a Marine recondo. I don’t know the jargon now they seem to switch it every couple of years. But he was like why even bother to hide? You’re going to be obvious

  32. miguel:

FYI, WickedPinto (aka Imsorrysteve57i, aka Douglas) never saw combat. He admitted this, frequently, way back when he was a regular contributor on Ace’s blog; also on The Hostages.

One of the first times he posted here, sometime last year, he did so as WickedPinto. He dropped that moniker and went to Steve57 after I identified him.

I know a lot about this fellow because his posts on Ace’s blog were usually all about himself. He talked about himself all the time and in exactly the same way, using the same language, that he uses here. His posts are very revealing — although not, I think, in the way he means them to be.

He’s a very troubled, very disturbed individual, and he is badly in need of help.

  33. IrishOtter49:

“Steve57” has been posting on neo’s blog for much longer than 2023, maybe 10 years. Quite a while.

  34. As a Naval intelligence officer I was more like a seeing eye dog than a sheepdog.

  35. Irish, you know next to nothing about me. I’ve never posted as Wicked Pinto or on Ace’s blog. I’ve only commented here and legal insurrection.

  36. I only knew him from the good prosecutors blog when patterico went totally queeg

  37. Yes. I’ve never seen combat. You’ve got me there. I trained for it but being the thousand pound gorilla wherever we sail means no one wants to test us. The fact I’ve never been tried is testimony to my hard work. I’d like to keep commenting here because every so often I think I have something valuable to share. Like how to keep warm in the desert.

    It’s exactly because it’s a desert so people don’t think it’ll be a problem it’s a problem

  38. IrishOtter:

I of course don’t know exactly who Steve57 is in real life. So I can’t say whether you are right or wrong. But I do know a couple of things, just from a very quick look at the comments history here. The first is that Steve57 has been posting here since 2013 under that name. The second is that a commenter named “wicked pinto” also has posted here but only off and on and quite seldom, beginning in 2006 and then again in 2023. The two commenters have completely different geographic locations. They also have totally – and I mean totally – different styles of writing.

  39. I’m sorry Neo. I’m sure this isn’t what you wanted your blog reduced to. I do think I have things of value I can share which could do someone some good. But not if I’m too much trouble

  40. Steve57:

You’re right that I don’t like this sort of thing, of course.

But aside from the points IrishOtter makes, I’ve previously requested that you stop posting one-liners over and over on comment threads. I also have expressed concern that you’re having some sort of emotional difficulty. I’m not asking you to stop posting here, but I am asking you to stop the repetitive short comments.

  41. I’m sorry Neo. Irish otter is right about one thing. I am troubled. Who wouldn’t be after burying your own child. If you’re not troubled by that something is wrong with you. I don’t want sympathy. Just understanding. I think about him every day. And the pain bleeds through. Don’t hold it against me please. Bur being troubled doesn’t mean being turned into a fool. It doesn’t make you wrong

  42. Yes, Neo, there is that first moment of shock for the hostages. I’ll bet they might have been thinking they were about to be killed and don’t know by who. After all, the terrorists aren’t exactly a well disciplined acting-as-one-unit group. They have been known to have power struggle between themselves; and the various hostages might very well be used a pawns in their power struggles.

Two other things I saw on other videos/reports:

First, I love the fact that the IDF came up with the code name of “diamonds” for the hostages. That is what they are valuable gemstones!

Second, I saw this on a Sky New Australia report, somewhere around time 0:43 after explaining that they are there to rescue them the soldier offers a fist bump! If this wasn’t explained it is easy to miss – but what a great way to show that they are rescuers for real!
