Notes from Chairman Biden — 18 Comments

  1. In 1944, it was obvious that President Rosevelt was rapidly failing and would not finish his 4th term. His vice president was almost as unqualified and unsuitable as Harris. The senior leadership of the Democratic Party went to Rosevelt and convinced/forced him to pick Harry Truman, and the rest is history.

Even if one is a Democrat, it must be clear that at least one member of the current ticket must be replaced. At least if there is a shred of reason left in the party. Both the future of their party and country demands it.

  2. FJB said this today in Nashua, NH:

“I say to every young man thinking of getting married, marry into a family with 5 or more daughters. I did. My wife is the oldest of 5 sisters. You know why? One of them will always love you. Not the same one. One of them is always going to be on your side. That’s the biggest advantage of marrying into 5 daughters.”

Ah, that’s our Grandpa Joey. What a card.

  3. “What is democracy? The trail of broken promises still leaves Black communities behind.”
Yes, and those promises were made by the Democrats.

“What is democracy? You have to be ten times better than anyone else to get a fair shot.”
So, you’re telling us that Kamala Harris is ten times better than any possible other VP pick? Okay, got it.

“You started college just as George Floyd was murdered, and there was a reckoning on race.”
Hmm. Reckoning = the avenging or punishing of past mistakes or misdeeds: Is it over, Joe? Can we say the grievances have been avenged? Or must we continue the floggings until morale improves?

    “What is democracy?”
Well, it sure isn’t much like what the Democrat party is offering. – rigged elections, power mad representatives that ignore their voters, and doing special favors for favored groups.

“Most of all, what does it mean? As you’ve heard before, to be a Black man who loves his country even if it doesn’t love him back in equal measure.”
So, you’re telling us that this is still a racist, bigoted country? Even after four years of your valiant efforts to unite us. Okay, Joe, got it.

  4. He piled upon the white race’s back, the sum of all the general rage and hate felt by the whole indecent race of men from Cain on down; and then, as if his chest had been a mortar, he burst forth all the hate within his heart.

  5. hes converting to Islam, well thats more wives than sisters, but go on, sounds like the gospel according to derrick bell, whose lead disciple was obama, ‘the space farers’ was an analogy that fed his toxic delusions,

yes many black and brown men, died because of the riots he gave sanction to, and the policies that followed, under cop killer fan clarke and co, many who will be locked out of the job market, because the invasion he enabled

  6. Who in the heck is writing these speeches? Pretty disgusting.
    Kinda Hitleresque.

  7. I’ve asked before why people have a political party at the core of their identity. I still wonder, but this is a part of it. Tear down the family. Tear down the Church. Tear down the nation. “Only the Party loves you.”

I don’t doubt that this sort of thing happens, but I do marvel that it is so effective. That is what bewilders me.

  8. How does it not occur to The Marionette that if this sort of thing that he said here is true, then he, as a white man, has been part of the problem the whole time? Is he not damning himself out of his own mouth?

  9. Tear down the family. Tear down the Church. Tear down the nation. “Only the Party loves you.”

    mkent:

    It can feel that way.

In my teens and 20s I felt betrayed by family, church and nation. I did find solace in the hippie/left circle dancing. (neo is not just quoting a great quote.) I still have some allegiance there.

If I think back, I changed because enough people, mostly writers, therapists, and motivational speakers, told me that I had to be responsible for my life and made some good suggestions for doing so.

Say what you like about boomers. Many of us were responding to the call as a Bay Area DJ put it:

  10. I don’t know the exact stats, but I’m guessing black university graduates in 2024 are a small % of the total black population in the 22-25 yr old age grouping.

These young men & women are already leaps & bounds ahead of their age cohort & have in their hands the capacity to change the lives of every generation of black children to come…simply by marrying & raising another generation of university graduates.

But here…let’s give ’em a heaping helping of “shame on ol’ hateful whitey.”
The counterrevolution cannot come swiftly enough. It’s going to be lit.

  11. “What a card.”
Um, well, to tell you the truth….

    Opening grafs…

FBI agents last week arrested a man from Maine for his involvement in the events of January 6. According to a Department of Justice press release, Lincoln Deming spent about 30 minutes inside the building after entering through an open door with Capitol Police standing by. Deming faces numerous charges including civil disorder and the dreaded “parading” in the Capitol misdemeanor.

The DOJ bragged in the press release about the government’s scalp count for its unprecedented prosecution of Jan 6 protesters. “More than 1,424 individuals have been charged in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol,” Matthew Graves, the Joe Biden-appointed U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, boasted. The investigation into the four-hour disturbance, Graves warned, is “ongoing.”

Indeed. The DOJ, astonishingly, is on pace to arrest one J6 protester a day this year; Graves has stated his intention to bring the total caseload to at least 2,000 defendants before the statute of limitations expires….

About 10% of all baccalaureate degrees awarded each year are received by blacks. If you had impersonal admissions standards and 1962 grading practices, the share might be around 7%. Among the general population, about 45% of each cohort receives a baccalaureate degree, so, roughly 30% of each black cohort is receiving one. If we had honest admissions screens and grading-for-performance, the share might be around 22%.

  13. Not so much Chairman Biden as Chairman Obama, the Great Hellsman…

    Closing graf:

…While I understand why some have trouble believing that in crucial respects America has devolved into an unaccountable police state, it doesn’t do anyone any favors to pretend that this isn’t happening. Indeed, choosing to remain in denial about injustice is itself a hallmark of totalitarianism. In The Lives of Others, the classic film about the East German surveillance state, a Stasi interrogator tells a prisoner, “So you think we just arrest innocent citizens on a whim? … If you think our humane system is capable of something like that, that would be a reason enough to arrest you.”
