How many illegal aliens will be voting in 2024? And how many voted in past elections?
In 2014, the academic journal Electoral Studies published a groundbreaking study by three scholars who estimated how frequently non-citizens were illegally voting. Based on data for the 2008 presidential and congressional elections, the study found that:
– “roughly one quarter of non-citizens” in the U.S. “were likely registered to vote.”
– “6.4% of non-citizens actually voted.”
– 81.8% of them “reported voting for Barack Obama.”
– illegal votes cast by non-citizens “likely” changed “important election outcomes” in favor of Democrats, “including Electoral College votes” and a “pivotal” U.S. Senate race that enabled Democrats to pass Obamacare. The study’s voter registration rate was estimated with data from two key sources:
1. A national survey in which 14.8% of non-citizens admitted that they were registered to vote.
2. A database of registered voters that reveals what portion of the surveyed non-citizens “were in fact registered” even though “they claimed not to be registered.”By combining these data, the author’s “best” estimate was that 25.1% of non-citizens were illegally registered to vote.
That was in 2008. There’s a lot of other information in the article, including data that contradicts those results, and the caveat that it’s hard to get valid data on the subject.
There’s also this:
To prevent illegal voting by non-citizens, Congressional Republicans recently introduced a 22-page bill to “require proof of United States citizenship” to register to vote in federal elections.
While reporting on a press conference announcing the legislation, media outlets like the Associated Press, CNN, NBC News, Rolling Stone, and NPR attacked the bill as unnecessary. NPR, for instance, reported that “it’s already illegal” for non-citizens to vote in federal elections and “there’s never been evidence to support the idea noncitizens are voting at anything other than miniscule numbers.”
Catch-22, of course. If we don’t require proof of citizenship, how would we know the extent of non-citizen voting and/or voting attempts, and how would we ever document and prove it? It is currently impossible to do so, and those objecting to the bill either are abysmally stupid or duplicitous in their arguments. But we’re used to that, right?
CORRECTION: The title of this post should read “non-citizens” rather than “illegal aliens.” [Hat tip: commenter “Paul Nachman.”]
Just make sure to give ‘em a driver’s license.
As many as possible (even if they can’t drive).
And then let the Human-Rights / Inalienable-Right-to-Vote-in-a-Democracy industry a chance to do its thing…
“…those objecting to the bill either are abysmally stupid AND duplicitous in their arguments.”
There, fixed it for you.

How many?
I’m going with… just enough to put Trump in 2nd place.
Millions is my guess. With motor voter laws, and saw in Pa too many government programs now connect a recipient with voter registration. And mail vote set out to people no longer in that residence, and illegals probably don’t have much in permanent residence, their vote ballot is out there to be picked off.
So even if the illegal doesn’t vote they will have a ballot out there.
In some states, in already a requirement. I know when I moved to Texas, to transfer my WA driver’s license to TX, I had to provide my birth certificate. Naturalization papers or a passport (which requires a birth certificate or naturalization papers to get) were also acceptable.
My wife, since she had taken my last name, had to provide a copy of our marriage license as well.
When I’ve taken my two older kids to get driver’s licenses, they had to provide birth certificates as well.
Neo, the charge is actually about NON-CITIZENS voting. Yes, this includes illegal aliens, but it also includes Lawful Permanent Residents (“green-card holders”) who haven’t naturalized.
This is the issue that will kill this country. Citizenship is reduced to nothing and every flows from it.

Well, they WOULD say that, wouldn’t they?
(Remind me, what’s the Credibility Quotient (CQ) of the Democratic Party these days…?)
“NPR, for instance, reported that “it’s already illegal” for non-citizens to vote in federal elections and ‘there’s never been evidence to support the idea noncitizens are voting at anything other than miniscule numbers’.”
The same could honestly be said about gun ownership and use. It is “already illegal” for certain categories of people to own guns, and for all people to use them in the commission of a crime. And there’s scant evidence that people who own guns legally have used them in the commission of a crime.
Can we expect this kind of statement from NPR? Don’t hold your breath.
@Paul Nachman: it also includes Lawful Permanent Residents
Not just them, but students and H1Bs.
In my home state they still offer driver’s licenses that don’t meet the specs of the REALID act. Illegal aliens routinely get state-issued driver’s licenses and if they’re not sure how to do it the good folks at the Department of Licensing help them. Supposedly there is a date after which these drivers’ licenses will become invalid for air travel, but for mysterious reasons Department of Homeland Security keeps pushing the date back.
My home state puts illegals on Medicaid now, they also get food stamps and other taxpayer-funded benefits.
Articles like this frustrate me so much that, often, I just see the subject line and then refuse to read it. Unless this is reversed soon, I fear that the nation as we know it is gone.
I support a constitutional amendment to address federal voting (Congress and the Presidency) that could turn it around … maybe, but it’s worth a try. In-person election day voting, with a limited early voting period (say 1-2 weeks prior to election day), make election day a national holiday, voter ID, citizens only. So weird to say citizens only, but we have devolved to that. Carve outs for legit absentee voters, of course. I was an absentee voter myself for decades when serving overseas as a diplomat, in charged of the absentee voter portfolio at several embassies, so I get that.
These are just a few ideas. They should be put forward with vigor and confidence, without apologies. Call out the opponents in a straightforward manner for what they are and really want – America haters who wish for the dissolution of the country.
I find this subject, this issue, so disturbing I can scarcely read about it. I hate illegal immigration with a passion and I am no less unfavorably inclined to illegal immigrants/aliens, in particular those from Mexico and South America.
Only Citizens should vote in elections. All elections, national ad local.
Voting should be done on election day.
Absentee ballots allowed with demonstrated need (not to include inconvenience).
That would be bad enough, given that there is no way to determine if those voting had any knowledge of the issues involved rather than some general idea about the “like” or “dislike” based on personality of the candidate.
We are doomed.
I understand that murder is also Illegal, even in Chicago. Has NPR ever explained this ?
Kamela Harris’s opponent for CA Senate was a woman by the name of Loretta Sanchez (my parents watched them debate, and reported that both women were complete idiots). Sanchez won her first election, to the House, when she defeated the incumbent at the time, Bob “B1” Dornan.
After the election, news came to light that some of the outfits that prepared immigrants for citizenship had illegally registered their students to vote before the students had actually become citizens…
We were told at the time that there weren’t enough illegal votes to influence the election. But…
As my state’s Track Your Ballot program confirms, I voted in recent elections. But for whom did I vote?
It’s to laugh.
In this day and age, it is completely possible to design a system that verifies personal vote choices. Until such a system is implemented, our elections are a farce.
It’s always the case. Power, money and control. Seeking them has been the dynamic of the world since there have been humans. It’s ALWAYS the case. Enough illegal immigrants and the libs/progs control vote outcomes. Unless there is armed insurrection. Which I doubt given our softness.
We don’t need to prove that there are non-citizens voting.
They need to prove that non-citizens are NOT voting.
This isn’t a case in court where guilt needs to be proved. This is about them asking us to just trust them and us telling them that they need to prove trustworthy.
The names and addresses of illegals are compiled, and they are registered where registration requires little to no proof of citizenship. Washington state is one such place.
The ballots are prepared and voted – not by the illegals – by the party operatives. The ballots are taken to the proper county authority to be placed in with the real ballots. This is easy when ballots can be dropped in collection boxes off site, as we do here in Washington.
The counting is done by “reliable” state employees. Even if observed by both parties, it all looks normal.
What I’ve described above is what I believe is happening in Washington state and other states where keeping illegal, dead, and moved voters from casting a ballot is almost impossible. The Democrats have been setting this up for some years now. I would wager it’s in operation in all states with mail in ballots.
Until they can prove I’m wrong, that’s my considered opinion about how they win sweepings statewide victories with candidates like Jay Inslee, Patty Murray, and Maria Cantwell – mediocrities all.
