Creating the J6 narrative
It should come as no surprise that the House Select committee on January 6 withheld evidence that tended to exonerate Trump:
Former President Donald Trump claimed vindication Monday after new evidence released by Congress undercut two sensational claims Democrats made about him during the Jan. 6 investigation, including that he tried to commandeer his Secret Service vehicle that day to go to the Capitol and never offered National Guard troops for extra protection ahead of the fateful event.
“These were made-up, fabricated stories,” Trump told Just the News in an exclusive interview.
Trump spoke hours after the House Administration Oversight Subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., released transcripts and other evidence in an interim report that concluded the Democrat-run House Select Committee on Jan, 6 withheld from the public evidence that contradicted its final conclusions.
Lies are effective, though. My guess is that most of the people who believed the “grab the steering wheel” story in the first place still believe it. A lie gets halfway around the world …
And if the MSM weren’t a Democrat propaganda machine, the suppression of this testimony by the J6 committee would be enormous news.
It’s funny. Remember the foofaraw when Trump was allegedly overheard saying that he could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and murder somebody and his supporters would not forsake him? (Or at least, words to that effect.) That was quite probably true to a large extent. But it works the other way as well. People who hate him will believe anything that is said about him that is detrimental, regardless that he denies it or how outlandishly fake it is or whether it is later refuted. By now, positions have become adamantine. Only people who are not paying attention, i.e., the “moderates” might be swayed one way or another by these kinds of revelations should they catch wind of one or more of them by happenstance or inadvertance. Unfortunately, for every factual rebuttal that comes out now, the “Never Trumpers” and other suffers of TDS will concoct another tall tale that requires later refutation; it’s part of their playbook, as was the Bush “draft dodger” prevarication spread by Dan “Let’s All Be Objective Now” Rather.

I know people who still believe Trump said Nazis were “fine people,” despite my explaining carefully that he said no such thing. When a mind is already made up, facts don’t matter. (For most people.)

I recall when the Charlottesville demonstrations happened, and then hearing Trump’s first statements on it. The minute he made those statements, I knew it would get twisted. If the media can edit the George Zimmerman 911 tapes the way they did and get away with it, then Trump was certain to get similar treatment.
I believe those were the neo-Nazi words you were refering to.
It is astonishing that such trickery works so well in the case of a presidential figure.
It would be interesting to have a closer look at the events of Charlottesville too.
That event also had the feel of ‘creating a narrative’ with a planned set up.
– How many Feds were there, embedded with the different groups?
– The police chief deleted messages, resigned, but then kept getting paid by the city.
– A professional film crew (Vice studios) just happened to be there the night before to film sketchy tiki torch marchers.
– Democrat Mayor Michael Signer & Democrat Governor Terry McAuliffe should have been in the dock over their poor handling of that weekend, not the POTUS. What was the point of getting official permits for an event if the city was just gonna step aside & let the event be overrun & attacked by other groups?

What I still can’t square is that I think the riots on J6 actually disrupted Trump’s plans. On the morning of January 6th, there was going to be debate in Congress about rejecting electoral votes in Georgia and a few other states. There was talk of pausing the process in a search for more evidence. Trump had supporters of both of these ideas among GOP members of Congress. Trump was putting the full court press on Pence to get him to outright reject electoral votes. I don’t know if these GOP members were putting on a show for the base, kind of like Democrats in 2000, 2004, and 2016, or if they were actually serious about delaying certification. After the riot, though, Trump’s congressional support collapsed and Biden was quickly certified as the winner later that same day.
I can’t fathom that Trump intended for the crowd from his J6 speech to riot at the capital. If he did, it was the biggest self-own in American political history. Even I don’t think Trump is that stupid.
So here’s my “conspiracy theory,” which seems to fit the evidence so far. Somebody, or somebodies, in the deep state blob decided that the real threat to the republic in January of 2020 was that Trump’s supporters in Congress might actually succeed in delaying certification of the election, thereby sparking a serious Constitutional crisis and potentially disrupting the peaceful transfer of power. By January 6th, there had already been eight weeks to search for evidence and only two weeks remained before the inauguration. There was no reason at the time to believe that new evidence was about to be found. In fact, most of the “evidence” put forward by Trump’s team between November and January turned out to be false or mistaken. Given that, it’s not at all hard to imagine deep state types concluding that the “delay” was actually a pretext to keep Trump in power.
So they staged J6 for the purpose of disrupting Trump’s attempt to block certification of the election. And it worked. And Trump walked right into the trap that had been set for him.
Just one theory.
