Muslims in swing states threaten to “abandon” Biden in 2024
Biden started out with Israel-supportive rhetoric. But it was always clear that, once Israel showed it meant business about eliminating Hamas, Biden would pressure the Israelis to back off, go easy, and even accept a ceasefire. Not only is the Biden administration wedded to old ideas of two-state solutions and denial of the Palestinian aim of destroying Israel, but Biden and his aides realize that much of his base is both anti-Israeli and anti-Jewish.
In a state like Michigan, Muslim voters matter, and even Biden’s pressure on Israel to make nice to the Palestinians isn’t good enough for them. According to Politico:
Muslim leaders from several swing states on Saturday descended on Dearborn, Michigan, to launch a national campaign against the reelection of President Joe Biden — a response to his handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Organizers from Michigan, Minnesota, Arizona, Wisconsin, Florida, Georgia, Nevada and Pennsylvania are calling the campaign #AbandonBiden, vowing to ensure that Biden is a one-term president. These leaders have run separate pressure campaigns in their respective states, members of the coalition said, but they felt now was the time to coordinate their response ahead of the 2024 election.
“We’re looking into finding ways to build a mechanism of coordination between all the swing states so that we’re constantly working together to ensure that Muslim Americans will come out in all of these states, and that Mr. Biden will lose each and every one of them,” said Hassan Abdel Salam, a professor at the University of Minnesota and a member of the #AbandonBiden National Coalition during a press conference Saturday. “Right behind me, what Mr. Biden should see is 111 electoral votes. And he won last time with 74.”
But before you get too excited about this development, here’s how I see it: very very few of these voters will actually vote for Trump or any other Republican nominee. What’s more, if Biden is the Democrat nominee, they will almost certainly vote for him rather than allow the Republican to win. What I believe this current movement is about is scaring Biden and company, pressuring him into twisting the Israelis’ arms further and forcing some sort of ceasefire. The Muslim voters’ hope is that just the threat will be enough for them to get the results they want: Israel letting Hamas live to fight another day.
FWIW, I agree – somewhat. No serious candidate in either party would support the eradication of Israel, therefore there is no candidate who will give Islamic radicals what they want. Their only choice is to support a candidate who will give them some of what they want, as opposed to one who will give them nothing. Of course, Islamic radicals have a history of overestimating their own power so they may not see things this way.
Regarding the two-state solution, however, the alternative is a single state, which will probably be a majority Arab state, and therefore not a Jewish state, which Israel explicitly is. I don’t see how the Israelis can accept that. So a two-state solution may be the best deal they can get.

Oh, but what are the chances “he”‘ll make exceptions for, um, certain groups…?
Yes, this is all pretty ridiculous. Given current circumstances, any Republican nominee is going to make full and complete support of Israel a campaign priority and dare any Democratic nominee to challenge it. They will turn out for Biden in force.
Of course they will still vote for Biden. Then again Newsome might come out and be very forceful in a call for Israel to stop the military actions they are taking. More pressure on Biden. Just how many states would really be affected by this. Michigan for sure, but would any others? How about Jews and other voters being turned off by the actions of the Muslims? Going to be a very interesting year isn’t.
Blacks, Muslims, Transgenders, Homeless- they’d rather take handouts than take action. They’d be better off in a less leftwing (fascist) world, but all they look at is the loss of “free stuff” tomorrow, instead of looking at no longer needing free stuff later.
Okay….but who on earth WOULD they support? I can’t think of a single serious candidate who would possibly make them happy.
Biden (or his handlers) surely know this is a somewhat empty threat?
Barry Meislin:
Looks like the feds are trying to “Bud Lite” the entire nation, or at least those who have children and young adults in school. Talk about mobilizing opposition to the Tyranny supremacists.
Hubris on steroids, or on some other endocrine disrupter.
While they won’t vote Republican, they may not vote for Biden as well. I could see them having notions of forming a coalition around the squad. I could see them imagining that such a coalition would eventually form. I don’t think it is about pressuring Biden, I think it’s about pressuring the Democrats.
Remember that scene in the Godfather where Michael says, “Tom, you’re out.”
Joe’s out.
The Dem Establishment wants Gavin, but Mark Cuban might run. Cuban would win the nomination. He’d be tough to beat in the general.
Cornhead the Magnificant has spoken!
I predicted Creighton would beat Nebraska in bb by 20 yesterday. Creighton won by 29. But I can’t bear to put money on my Bluejays.
Fortunately, Israel is going full speed in both north and south Gaza following the end of the “pause,” and we can hope that most of the Hamas monsters will be dead soon.
Eh… Even if the lefty Muslims don’t fill out a ballot for the election, the ballot harvesters will make sure that a ballot is cast on their behalf.
The best thing for Palestinian civilians is for Hamas to be defeated as soon as possible.
Joe was never “In” in the first place.
How can he be Out?
Nope it’ll be sink or swim with Decent Joe to the very, very end.
(Loyalty, Democratic Party style).
No matter how hard they’ll have to FORTIFY the election; no matter how many ballots they’ll have to manufacture; no matter how many drop boxes they’ll have to employ; no matter for how long they’ll have to stop the ballot counting; no matter how many windows they’ll have to block and doors they’ll have to lock so that no one knows what they heck they’re doing; no matter for how many days after the election they’ll have to wait to get the right number of ballots…
No matter how much they’ll have to pump him up with whatever they’re pumping into him…
NO MATTER WHAT.
Yep, loyalty, Dem style….

There’s a word for that: chutzpah.
They won’t vote ‘for’ Biden, they’ll just loyally vote straight ticket Democrat. It is Michigan after all.
The best result for the Socialist Party is non-voting. Since there’s about 6 million Muslims in the US, this is a very hollow threat. Voting-age Muslims might be 1M? Actual voters maybe 750K? The media is so full of caca their eyes rare brown.
That list of states (Michigan, Minnesota, Arizona, Wisconsin, Florida, Georgia, Nevada and Pennsylvania) is far too long to actually be seriously affected by the muslim vote. I would like to think they are bluffing, but I’m not sure.
In the meantime, it is gratifying to see Lurch Fetterman facing them down in PA.

Middle East Muslims have repeatedly rejected a two-state solution. They have done so simply because Allah has forbidden it, having declared that once land is Islamic it must forever remain so. Spain is still referred to as ‘Andalusia’ by devout Muslims. BTW, that includes much of Eastern Europe and even that portion of southern France that the Muslim invaders had conquered prior to meeting ‘The Hammer’ i.e. Charles Martel at Tours in 732.
Some here may know that the development of castles in Europe was the resultant defensive reaction to incessant Islamic raids.
Here’s an historical eyeopener:

It’s tangential, although of a piece with Fetterman’s support of Israel and trolling the pro-Hamas brigades.

Thanks for the link to Emmet Scott’s book addressing the (probable) impact of Islamic aggression, after 650CE or so, in toppling still successful, if residual institutions and political units in Europe (Gaul, Spain, Italy, etc.) after the “fall” of the official Western Roman Empire. The core law and political structures continued semi-successfully for a time, not declining until imposed upon by Muslim armies or raiders/ pirates/ bandits.
The Amazon reviews were both negative and positive. The main concern was that perhaps the author did not really follow through on discussing the archeological evidence, or lack thereof, in support of the thesis he was promoting. Hard for a layman to judge without much deeper study and investigation, I suspect. Still, a very reasonable hypothesis, given similar issues in the Middle East until the rise of Islam.
I bought a copy used, which I have found to be a decent way to save money on books a few years old. Of the 10+ books I have bought used from Amazon suppliers, they were all of decent quality upon receipt. Now to find the time to actually read it!!
