Spambots of the day
Comment from a bot on an old “spambot of the day” thread:
Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book on it or something.
Also, short and sweet:
Hey, cutie!

I like the notifications of millions of dollars in a foreign account waiting for my response in order to collect.
Along those lines, this website has people who scam the scammers. Very entertaining:

Be sure to check the hall of shame.
At least those two make an effort to be complimentary…bots to be sure, but points for politeness?
😉
My only appearance in the NY Times was about Nigerian 419 advanced fee scammers (https://www.nytimes.com/2004/06/17/technology/turning-the-tables-on-e-mail-swindlers.html).
Under my alias of Pierpont Emmanuel Weaver, the world’s only gazillionare, I scammed a scammer out of about $100s worth of gold dust (to prove the gold mine i was buying into was legit).
It started out as complete foolishness that I was posting to a sports forum to entertain fellow fans, but eventually the scammer’s greed got the best of him and he essentially scammed himself.
“Hey, cutie!”
Wellll, we’re not going to know whether you’re an actual cutie until / unless you remove that green apple!
Then again, I remember you posting at one time (more??) at least one baby / little girl picture of you, and I *do* concur that you were a cutie. [smile]
Ah, well, M J R, as the good book says, “All flesh is like grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of the Lord stands forever.”
Which is to say, as Proverbs also says, “As a ring of gold in a pig’s snout So is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.”
So let’s honor Neo for her wisdom, and forget the photos of times past. Or do you like looking at withered flowers? (Sorry, Neo!)
Bill K (8:52 pm) suggests that we “honor Neo for her wisdom.” I’ll vote AYE.
Spambots aren’t the only “ones” who are “funny”….

“EU Doubles Down on ‘Green’ Energy Transition at UN Climate Summit”—

…along with more clowning around at the CDC….

Speaking of vaccines—or “scammers”, for that matter—here’s a bonus:

Barry Meislin, I saw that photo of Dubai-bound private jets frozen on the Munich runway and laughed out loud!
And of course Dr. Cohen, CDC, defends masks and mass vaccinations. She pushed both of those things in North Carolina. Schools here were closed far longer than they ought to have been.
It’s as though the Swedish response to Covid—and the results of their policy—have been entirely ignored, or rather, energetically thrown down the memory hole.
And what about Africa? India?….
(To be sure, the Swedes have discovered other ways to commit national suicide. Alas, they’re not the only ones….)

MJR: Ya beat me to it: “You talking to me or the apple?”
they are like the wurst witchdoctors or sorcerers aren’t they,
Heard online: since Congress passed Biden’s vaunted Infrastructure Bill, spending on infrastructure has gone down about 10%, because of all the attached DEI, environmental, and labor restrictions. The media focus is on a supposed big bonanza to come, but isn’t this what one has come to expect from government? More here.
Well perhaps the science is not settled at all, re: the origins of the universe and the Big Bang Theory.
See here:
https://asiatimes.com/2023/12/the-big-bang-never-happened-so-what-did/
Apparently actual astronomical observations are inconsistent with the tenets of the Big Bang theory, so it’s looking like a new explanation of the universe’s beginning is needed.
What a novel thought ! – a scientific theory has to be in accord with what is actually observed and/or measured.
could you run that one by me again,
Seeing them at Ace, don’t get what they are shooting for
M J R:
Did you forget the pic of her and Gerard? Lovely woman.
As for spam:
I sort of regret going all video and dropping my land line. I really enjoyed messing with audio spam callers. I had two tactics; string them along by shifting my voice to sound quite elderly then crack up, and dropping into mimicking whatever accent they had to piss them off.
Major goal being to make them lose it. Not every time, but often enough to keep me entertained.
Re phone spam callers, I heard a good suggestion the other day. When you pick up the phone, just say “Thank you for calling, you’re on the air…..”
Bluegreen kayak: I’ll pass that along to friends. It’s good.
