  1. I was thinking this morning about how the word ” antisemitism” is maybe getting overused against primarily the left similar to how ” Nazi” had been overused against the right.
There is a spectrum where there are real Jew haters on one side and then there are persons who are uninformed about things such as the nature of Islam and how the Jewish state would not work if Israel was less than super majority Jewish. And there are people who are concerned about people in Gaza. They are not all anti Jew. I am afraid bridges are being burned and false accusations are being thrown about now that in the long run are counter productive.
I think that Israel must either occupy Gaza and keep Hamas beat down or Israel needs to pull back behind it’s border and allow trade by sea to enter Gaza. Blocking the ports these last few years clearly did not keep Hamas from getting many weapons but it has contributed to economic misery and anti Israel messaging without causing Hamas to collapse.

  2. Glad to hear from you otter,

its state directed jew hatred,* the public relations seems sloppily done, ‘stand up against jew hate,’ who vets the copy,

*Qatar and Iran mostly, although Tiktok provides the vehicle,

  3. Jon B-
You are suffering under the delusion that there is some amount of goodness on the part of Israel that would result in peaceful coexistence (your 2nd option). Bibi and most of the Israeli govt and public had the same delusion.
The economic misery of Gaza is due to the billions of dollars of aid that was diverted from food, shelter, infrastructure to offensive weapons that were aimed at Israeli civilians, 20% of them Arab, culminating in the events of Oct 7.
Israel must do to Hamas what we did to Nazis and Japan in 1945. It will tragically result in the deaths of innocent civilians, but Israel has no alternative. It’s not like they haven’t tried to find other ways to get along; they have been way more patient with their genocidal tormentors than any other nation in history.

  4. Good to hear from you IrishOtter49. I hope things have turned around. Keeping you in prayer and best wishes for a beautiful Thanksgiving.

  5. Follow up to the Dune discussion. Ace has a story of a human killed by a packing robot. Human bean, box of peppers, same thing.

  6. IO49! You are back among us!
Praying the road ahead is smoother than the last few miles behind.

  7. West TX, excellent response to Jon’s sincere but somewhat misinformed comment. Two points:

    1) Not all criticism of Israel is antisemitic but they hang out together more than Joe and Mika.

    2) It is greatly underestimated, largely due to deliberate concealment by the MFM, the extent to which Hamas is not just anti-Zionist but explicitly antisemitic.

  8. enough is, to make it clear, you have a population where half of all the jews in europe were wiped out, so most settled in one tiny sliver of land, as wide as long island,

  9. “ It is greatly underestimated, largely due to deliberate concealment by the MFM, the extent to which Hamas is not just anti-Zionist but explicitly antisemitic.” They also don’t mention or probably even know, it is also a direct descendant of the Nazi Party as a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood that was trained and funded by the Nazis. Their greatest leader was the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and Nazi war criminal amin al Hussani.

  10. @ IrishOtter > as long as you still can laugh, there is healing!
    Good to hear from you.
I trust many of you here recall the Reader’s Digest feature “Laughter is the Best Medicine,” which was always my favorite.

  11. Re: ornithopters in real life

Turns out that, yes, it’s possible, but not very practical. At least not yet. The longest manned ornithopter flight is around a half minute, and they usually seem to get towed into the air or use a rocket boost.

The first working ornithopters were rubber-band powered in the late 19th century; a remote controlled, engine-powered ornithopter was flown in 1961. Today there is, of course, a hobbyist market alongside radio-controlled planes and other drones, and on the practical side there’s some made to look like raptors to chase birds away from airports.

So, could one be built? Almost certainly. And if you could, they’d have the flexibility of helicopters, only less inefficient. Mind, much of the technology you’d want for practical ornithopters would also improve other aircraft.

  12. Regarding Jon baker’s comment – I suspect that there are a large number of people on the left who do not realize that they have become functional anti-Semites.

  13. RE: UFOs –Are they Demonic?

What does it mean for something to be a “demon,” to be “demonic”?

One modern day definition of a demon is “an evil spiritual being,” but in ancient Greek religion a “daimon” was a supernatural power, and the word “daimon” was used interchangeably by Homer with “theos,” the word for a spirit or god. Came Christianity and the Greek daimons were transformed into evil “demons.”

Lou Elizondo has said that some of the opposition he faced within DOD to studying UFOs was from people (presumably Christians) who considered UFOs to be demonic, and wanted to have nothing to do with them; to “let sleeping dogs lie.”

Jacques Valle’s view of UFOs is that they are directed by some form of non human intelligence (NHI), an intelligence which can appear/make humans perceive it, in any number of forms; evidence that Reality is far larger and more complex than most of us want to admit.

Vallee believes that UFOs are not only physical entities, but also have a psychic component.

This, perhaps the reason why it is rumored that progress in reverse engineering UFOs has been very, very slow, and with minimal results.

It is now admitted that current day scientists have no idea what human consciousness actually is, but some are coming around to the idea that human consciousness is not just confined to the physical brain but extends outward into the environment and may be able to, in some way, effect it. Moreover, that human consciousness operates in the realm of quantum physics.

In esoteric teachings there is the idea that if enough people concentrate strongly enough on an image or idea they can bring a mental entity—an “Egregore” into being; this non-physical entity is a force which can have an impact on human life.

This is, after all, the same concept as that behind the visualization and concentration techniques which are employed by Tibetan Buddhists, by Hindus, and the Jesuits in their religious training.

What are all the images, especially in Catholic churches, and Tibetan temples and monastaries but both teaching tools, and also focal points to concentrate your mental energies on.

Perhaps when far more people and far more devotedly believed in their religions, their concentrated regard/worship/prayers brought into being non-material entities, energies which could, indeed, have influence—good and bad—on humanity.

Much as some people would like it not to be true, what is true is that there is real Evil in the world, and perhaps—especially in former times, when it’s literal presence was taught and believed–Evil was, and perhaps still is, personified in an actual presence which effects humankind, and which we call the Devil; perhaps it is the dark side of human nature, or Jung’s “collective shadow.”

    Ephesians 6:12 King James Version

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

But aren’t we all, and increasingly, dealing daily with, and sometimes fighting against elements of such “powers and principalities.”

What if UFOs are just one more of these powers and principalities, neither necessarily either good or bad? *

  14. @Boobah:

Yep. It’s not like you can built an ornithopter with even the toughness of the balsa wood / paper planes of the 60s. The first ones were this incredibly light, weak plastic film. They would make the frame out of like 1/16″ spars, sink it in water, put one drop of the solution to spread like oil on water then lift the frame up through the film. They’d even cut a rubber band so it wasn’t double and twist one ‘thread’. Wild stuff. I tried. After the eight or ninth failed wing I gave up. I’ll have to look some current hobby ones up.

As always, it’s the power unit that kills things.

  15. The mechanics are improved and they’re going for larger birds. Which reminds me of those toy flapping birds when I was young like this one.

Similar with rc for flapping speed.

Here’s plans for one. Looks and flies clumky but a start.

This one is by far my favorite find. Very damselfly looking and those critters hold a place in Voös’ heart. Large and easy to copy.

This one is built like a fan-tailed pterodactyl.

Haven’t found anything with rc guidance although maybe a vertical at the tail. But you’re still left with a rubber band powered flat glider, not guided flight.

  16. Hello late at night.

Checked email then did a quick look. Found this. Fully rc controlled. Still small and limited but watch the vid. Handles well.

Glad you guys brought them up. Haven’t thought of ornithopters in years.

    https://www.theblaze.com/news/soros-backed-da-withheld-info-about-sheriff-s-innocence-to-block-his-re-election-bid-whistleblower-retaliation-lawsuit

Sheriff Alex Villanueva, who was up for re-election last year, was previously under investigation for an incident in June 2022 where he was captured on video kneeling on an inmate’s neck, the lawsuit stated.

<b.According to the complaint, the video "was illegally released to the public, and was used by Villanueva's detractors to spread the false narrative that the use of force was illegal and that Villanueva attempted to cover it up."

While all deputies involved in the incident were ultimately cleared of wrongdoing, the DA office’s decision not to file charges against the officers was withheld from the public until after Villanueva, an outspoken critic of Gascon, lost his re-election bid.
