Here we go again – so much news!

(1) The UN is a travesty, and not a funny one:

In the worst decision by an international body since the League of Nations looked at the rise of Adolf Hitler and said, “I’m sure everything will turn out fine,” the United Nations has handed the chairmanship of the UN Human Rights Council Social Forum to Iran.

(2) An editor of the Harvard Law Review, Ibraham Bharmal, is apparently one of several people who recently assaulted a Jewish man on campus. Bharmal is an activist and a member of CAIR, which is an organization that has been linked with Hamas, although the group denies it.

Another Harvard student associated with the assault is Elom Tettey-Tamaklo, a divinity school student who lives with university undergraduates as a sort of advisor.

(3) Biden wants a ceasefire. I hope Israel doesn’t listen to him; it depends how hard he and/or his aides push and threaten. Perhaps he wants to level the playing field between Israel and what he has called “the other team.” Quite a sports metaphor. Or perhaps he’s not serious and is merely trying to appease the Democrats’ very large anti-Israel Left flank.

(4) The American Ornithological Society is eliminating misogynist and racist names from birds. WTF? For example, Audubon was a slave holder, so out with him!

(5) Trump says his children are being persecuted in the NY fraud trial. I think that is obviously the case; his entire family is in the Left’s crosshairs and has been since the beginning. To the Left, persecution of the family is a feature and not a bug.

  11. Yep, the UN is a sick joke and has always been a sick joke from the day its charter was written in 1945.

    The first really big mistake was allowing the USSR – can you believe it; Joe Stalin’s USSR – into the UN in any capacity whatsoever. Instead, it was made a permanent member of the Security Council. I guess that was Russia’s reward for exterminating up to 50 million Russians. Not even Hitler’s Wehrmacht killed that many Russians.

    The US should have gotten out of that rat s**t organization long ago and kicked them out of their buildings/offices in NYC.

  12. Saw the title of a YouTube video yesterday that mentioned something about Trump’s kids being dominated and micro-managed by their father. I didn’t watch it as it was obviously errant nonsense. But I’ve a sneaking suspicion that the word has gone out on the Left to run with that narrative.

  22. Does Biden want a ceasefire right now? At some point, sure, there will be a ceasefire, but I suspect Joe got thrown off script by the protestor in Minnesota and started rambling. Biden and Blinken will try to step in at some point but even they aren’t trying to stop Israel now.

    Hunter Biden has an op-ed in USA Today accusing the Republicans of “weaponizing” his addiction. I’d say the Trumps know a lot more about what it’s like to have the authorities “weaponizing” against them.

    Today the House passed an Israel aid funding bill that offsets the spending with cuts to the unspent IRS funding from last year‘s boondoggle. 12 Democrats voted for the bill so it is bipartisan. That is one of the main talking points by the left-wing media for the Senate bill.

  42. Actually I think three weeks is amazing—I originally thought “Biden”‘d cave after about a week or ten days, max.
    I guess this demonstrates just how serious “he” has to cover “his” backside WRT the US alliance with Iran, alliance with Hezbullah, alliance with the Palestinians…PLUS the help they gave Hezbullah in eradicating those Israeli spy networks in Lebanon (pace Tony Badran)…PLUS the pressure they put on Israel’s governments to allow those up-to-20 thousand Hamas workers into Israel (for the sake of peace, of course), and then have Jake Sullivan crow about “Biden”‘s extraordinary achievements WRT regional peace….

    That’s one heap big pile of smoldering, um, night soil to try to cover up. (And I think we’re seeing the result…)

    Not sure, though, just how much longer “Biden” can keep it up, i.e., keep the Squad et al. at bay here—AKA the grand constituency “Biden” wants to keep hidden from view.
    So…”he” may buckle at any time because of their threats.
    BTW, this has GOT to be the reason why “he” and KJP are stressing—to the point of deranged comedy—the absolute necessity for all of us proud Americans to counter all that monumental amount of anti-Islamic hate that’s being generated out there even as we speak….
    (At the same time, “he” can use “his” principled and impassioned resistance to their threats to demonstrate how “devoted” “he” is to Israel’s defense…etc., etc., so—who knows?—maybe “he”‘s even orchestrating them to howl, shriek, rattle, hum…threaten…)

  45. The fraud trial is exactly that, a fraud. The reasoning for the “fraud” is a joke. They actually had a goof show a chart saying how much the bank could have made with an accurate assessment. It was like $170 mil. The problem with that theory is that Trump could have taken his business elsewhere. He got the great deal because he pays his bills on time and in full. Therefore, it is easy money for the bank. If only the government was as honest as Donald Trump.

  47. For what it’s worth I got this one on the screws – three weeks. That is precisely what I told an orthodox friend of mine who travels to Israel frequently. He was understandably very pleased at the “unequivocal” support from the U.S. in the first few days. I said you have three weeks, and that’s assuming you don’t accidentally hit a school or something (this was before the hospital incident).

    We all knew it wouldn’t last. The more interesting question in my mind is, would any other Democrat president have held out longer? I say “no”.

    Yes, and about 35 years ago Allan Bloom described how far the trends had already gone in univerities, not specifically in terms of anti-Semitism but in terms of the hollowness of the students.

    The MSM is of course a big part of it as well. The colleges feed the MSM and then the MSM feeds it back to the entire population.

    No, they change the name of a freaking sparrow, and think that’s somehow going to make birdwatching more interesting to PoCs. SMH.

    Because, you know it’s the “racists” with birds named after them that is offensive to PoCs… As someone else said, this is the most ridiculously stupid race pandering, virtue signalling BS this year.

    They need to change the name of “Bluebirds”, because, you know. Star Trek Andorians might be offended. :-S
