Devon Archer testifies — 27 Comments

  1. Well, I misstated the Devon Archer situation in a previous comment. Apparently, the possible interference with his meeting with congress, is over whether and when he will appear to serve a jail sentence because of a previous conviction.

  2. Will it boil down to us hearing, once again: “No reasonable prosecutor would bring a case. We did not find clear evidence that ‘Biden’ intended to violate the law.”

  3. cb:

I think there is zero chance of Biden being being prosecuted no matter what is revealed. Hunter MAY serve a little more time than the original plea agreement, but not much.

  4. What I have not seen explained is why we got so many articles a week ago saying he WOULD testify to this and is EXPECTED to testify to that. If I had that explained, I think I’d understand better what to think about it.

I’m really uncomfortable accepting the narrative I see in the media until I understand who wants me to believe it and why they do.

Right now all of this is leaks from anonymous sources, right? They’re telling us this to get us to think something, just like always.

  5. Worth keeping in mind that there’s always going to be a hard limit on what anyone digs up on Joe Biden, because too many Congressmen and Senators from both parties have been doing the same kinds of things for too many years.

  6. Will this willful corruption create more disillusioned or will it motivate an agent for change?

  7. Otay Frederick, Brandon and Humper are nothing special, just run of the mill Globetrotters?

  8. Call me Ishmael, but I continue to believe it is quite possible the Biden Crime Family will unravel.

Not that the Big Guy, Little Guy with a Gun and their lieutenants will face proper consequences, but they won’t be running the Free World any longer. They will be exposed.

Not that their Dem replacements, whoever they may be, will be improvements, but it will be change, which will grease the wheels for further change.

It sure feels like 1968 to me.

    I don’t mean that in a good way. 🙂

  9. The MSM and the Dems, who are in cahoots, will do their best to kill this story. It’s all hands-on deck.

It goes like this: The Big Guy never knew who was in the room when he was on speaker phone. Just exchanging pleasantries as a favor to his lovable rascal of a son. Where’s the money??? Archer is a convicted felon. Who would believe anything he says? It’s all a hoax. The Republicans have made up this fairy tale. It’s all Trump’s fault. Etc. And over 50% of the citizenry will believe it.

Even if the House Republicans (props to Comer and Jordan) uncover the money trail, showing receipts, bank transfers, e-mails, and other incriminating evidence, it will be called BASELESS by the MSM. Powerful word that. Baseless = absolutely no evidence. And over 50% of the citizenry will buy it.

It’s enough to make grown men cry. Yet, they get away with it. I suspect that Joe will be their candidate. If they cave now, it will cast a shadow over all of the Democrats and over the sainted Obama years. I’m guessing they will try to tough this out.

I hope I’m wrong. I hope enough people will get a whiff of the corruption to put the Democrats in a position where they can’t cheat their way to winning elections.

    Ishmael! Ishmael! Ishmael!

Although come to think of it, Ishmael ended up telling the tale.

  11. Closed doors means the left will leak any false narrative it desires.
The right is ineffectual. Perhaps all the evidence waved before the media and public are mere weather balloons to see what will be tolerated,

  12. What Frederick said @8:50 pm:
“…I’m really uncomfortable accepting the narrative I see in the media until I understand who wants me to believe it and why they do.
“Right now all of this is leaks from anonymous sources, right? They’re telling us this to get us to think something, just like always.”
    And JJ @11:15 pm.
One MUST ALWAYS ask oneself, “Why are they saying/writing this?
What do they WANT US to think?
What are they aiming at? Aiming for?”

And no, it ain’t easy to do…when you’re totally surrounded, inundated, besieged…by lies. (Or just maybe, to the contrary, that just makes it easier…)

Except one would have to believe the DOJ (which claims—cough, cough “…it did not call for Devon Archer to be jailed before testimony…”)
But why should anyone believe the DOJ about anything???
Short version: The DOJ got caught—again—with its pants down.
Conclusion: They’ll just have to figure out another way to shut Devon Archer up (and down).

  15. like they said on gutfeld ‘devon archer did not kill himself’ goldman did do a good impression of franky pantangeli though,

  16. harari, looks not like a replicant does he,

the larger significance, is hunter is a cipher, but burisma, which was involved in peddling clean energy scams in western europe, needed him, there,

  17. The Biden family somehow, by some miracle, has not had to pay any income taxes on the millions of $$$$ they have raked in from their scam.
So, where is the IRS here?

This scam has brought forth a worthwhile successor to that lying POS, US congressional Rep. Adam Schifty. Recall he was adept at spewing out a continuous stream of lies re: Trump/Russia.

This Biden scam has now given us Rep. Dan Goldman of NYC, who is jumping thru his anal orifice claiming that there is ZERO evidence that joke bidet is at the receiving end of bribe $$$$. But if you check out the district he represents , you can rest assured his constituents are in total agreement with his BS.

Once again we see how little storm troopers voluntarily and willingly carry the torch for their beloved leaders.

The USA has no right whatsoever to lecture other nations about how they run their affairs or claim to be that ‘shining light on the hill” that other nations should seek to emulate.
The USA has a govt. of, by and for the leftist ruling elites who use the “law” to destroy all their enemies. In third world nations, they prefer to use a violent coup d’etat to attain power or just use murder.
The USA is not there yet, but it sure is heading in that directions.
Meanwhile, the dumbpublicans still refer to the demonkrats as “my colleagues across the aisle.”
    Give me a F’n break.

  19. Joe was a participant and a beneficiary, but Hunter and the others were doing the legwork, so there’s plenty of opportunity to find a fall guy — at least in the short run.

It sure feels like 1968 to me.

I could see DeSantis as Nixon, if the Greens and NoLabels peel off enough Democrat votes. Another dogged campaigner, not loved, not popular, but able to go the distance. Or maybe he’d squeak in like George W. Bush in 2000, thanks to Ralph Nader.

Maybe it’s not that a non-Trump Republican could take votes from the Democrat, but that third party candidates could, if Trump weren’t on the ballot. On the other hand, the left isn’t as strong as it was in 1968 and, in contrast to Clinton, Biden has been giving the left wing everything it wants. There may be fatigue with the man, but Is that enough to make the Democrat left turn on him?

  20. Re: 1968

    Abraxas:

I was thinking of the political instability then. In particular LBJ’s April Fool’s surprise announcement that he would not seek reelection.

Biden could be forced to resign for health reasons or as part of a deal to pardon Hunter.

DeSantis could be the hard-nosed, unlikeable yet competent candidate to take advantage of Dem chaos, as Nixon did in 1968.

  21. The Dems may be in chaos, as huxley notes, however I believe the bureaucracy is in “All Hand’s on Deck Gentlemen We Need to Save Our Phoney Baloney Jobs” existential crisis mode. The FBI, CIA, IRS, and DOJ seem to be participating and even ramrodding this whole entertainment extravaganza.

They will fight like caged badgers from this point forward.

And not just Dems and bureaucrats, but Republicans who are in on the graft. Which is virtually everyone in DC.

I have my popcorn and Rasinettes at the ready to see who survives this cage match.

Might as well enjoy the spectacle as Our Democracy goes down the tubes. Especially since, unlike the Bread and Circuses phase of the demise of the Roman Empire, I don’t even have to travel to the Coliseum to watch.

  22. Given the State Controlled Media spinning Archer and other Hunter Biden news, let’s remember the wisdom of VigilanteMan. A commenter at FreeRepublic asks

“How dumb does the MSM think the American public is?”

VigilanteMan replies. “Well, they got away with the 2020 election steal, didn’t they?”

  23. One thing that concerns me as I read AoS is the mention that other countries, such as the UK, knew of Burisma’s corruption, and that the brand of Biden was what protected Burisma. Over at Instapundit, there is a discussion that Biden is protected by DC, because if he goes down, everyone goes down with the house of cards falling. But this deck is thicker than just DC. The UK and other countries knew too and are keeping quiet or in the case of their media (mostly state run) are also protecting Biden.

This concern for me goes back to the Steele Dossier, created by a former British spy. Surely MI6 would be interested in one of their former colleagues publishing a fake dossier to interfere with a duly elected President. Yet they remained silent then or, in the case of their media, treated the document as authentic as the US media claimed. This suggests the corruption goes well beyond just DC.

Note, I’m note suggesting a conspiracy, because the UK government didn’t need to be told or be in on the scheming to act in what it considers to be in its best interest. Perhaps fouling Trump’s presidency worked for them enough to not come out and disavow the Steele Dossier. But if the corruption of Burisma bothered them enough to have their own questions, then shouldn’t they be upset with the US interfering to support the corruption?
