Devon Archer’s impending testimony on Joe Biden
For many years Joe Biden has claimed that he never spoke to Hunter about his business dealings. That was never especially believable, and there were even photos of Joe with some of the people with whom Hunter did business. The MSM didn’t care to look into the matter, of course.
Now that the GOP-controlled House is looking into the matter, the MSM is still showing a lack of interest in what would be a Watergate-squared type story if only the perps were Republicans:
The Democrat hacktivist media had their priorities last week, and it seems that the shock hit The Sound of Freedom was more important to them than a host of other news . . . like the whistleblower hearings that blew the lid off the Biden family corruption and influence peddling.
Now reports are that Hunter Biden’s previous business partner Devon Archer will be testifying to the House on the subject of Joe Biden’s involvement while he was still VP:

Also:
House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) said, “We are looking forward very much to hearing from Devon Archer about all the times he has witnessed Joe Biden meeting with Hunter Biden’s overseas business partners when he was vice president, including on speakerphone.”
If Archer’s testimony turns out as predicted, I still don’t think it will matter, except to the right and some smattering of Independents paying attention. Democrats will not pay attention, or if they do they will not care, or if they care they will say that Trump (or whichever random Republican manages to be nominated in 2024) is worse.
Watergate mattered for two reasons. The first was that the press hyped the story because it allowed them to make themselves out to be heroes as well as because Nixon was a Republican – and one they especially disliked. The second is that many Republicans were outraged at what Nixon had done and abandoned him, indicating to him that they would vote to impeach and convict him.
In later years, it occurred to me that if Nixon had been a Democrat, Watergate would have been a small footnote. The press would not have hyped it and the Democrats would not have abandoned one of their own for something as piffling as principle.
Nixon was impeached for wanting to do the things that FDR, JFK and LBJ actually did.
He went down because the press was united against him and the GOP leaders like Howard Baker had more integrity than Dems have ever had. Not that Baker was all that clean.
To understand modern politics, the saga of Hiss and Chambers is instructive — from the trial, through the jihad against Nixon, all the way up to the bizarre story of the KGB general looking through a few files and the news media having massive orgasms as they proclaimed Hiss’ innocence in huge headlines usually reserved for the outbreak of war. (When most readers had no idea who Hiss was or why it would be important that someone would claim he was cleared.)
The dishonesty at all levels for all time on this one story — society, journalist, govt, education establishments — teaches all one would ever need to know. The corrupt are in charge and all the institutions and establishments work overtime to sell the lies.
And the last lesson may be most important — the left never stops lying and never stops pushing to win. Not even half a century later when 99% have no awareness of the issue.
BTW — does everyone realize that the new movie “Oppenheimer” is based on a book by two editors of The Nation?
The left never quits. The lies never stop. The quest for absolute power is forever.
howard baker was a fool, nixon was a choirboy compared to the dems, did he swear occasionally when reflecting all the garbage that was heaped upon him, well who wouldn’t
yes kai bird is the son of an arabist state department official, who has written about mcgeorge bundy and robert ames, he had a sympathetic view toward oppenheimers failures in judgement,
So, there will be testimony of a participant of his personal knowledge of Joe Biden taking bribes. There is also the recorded phone calls made by the guy in Ukraine. There appears to be bank records.
Given the above, not a single Dem Senator would vote to remove Joe Biden from office for taking bribes and then doing things that helped the entity that paid the bribe. And I doubt a single Dem House Member would vote to impeach.
Where are the Dem equivalents of Barry Goldwater and Howard Baker?
How could this Republic sunk to such a low level?
And the newspapers/
They all went along for the ride.
“We are CORRUPT for the good of the country…” (to take a page out of Dr. Deb’s book).
“And we are HIDING all that CORRUPTION because the alternative is far, far worse: TRUMP!”
(And we should know since we made him into the DEMON-OUTLAW he is. Was that one heckuva SMEAR/SLANDER/CHARACTERASSASSINATION campaign or WHAT! Man are we good. Couldn’t a’ done it better. Planning, execution, timing, BINGO. Don’t like to boast but that hatchet job was AMAZING, simply INCREDIBLE. Yep, we ARE BAAAAAD. Deserve an Oscar ten times over. Bet you think it’s easy, don’t ye? Well, got news for ye’…YOU just try to coordinate something like that, something of that scope—it was INTERNATIONAL—WIDE and DEEP. And LONG. That loud-mouthed amateur didn’t know what him ‘im…. Still doesn’t, not really.)
I keep hoping the drip, drip, drip will bring Sundowner down. The Deep State is the one holding him up to be their Puppet so it’s a test on their hold over the country.
“So, there will be testimony of a participant of his personal knowledge of Joe Biden taking bribes. There is also the recorded phone calls made by the guy in Ukraine. There appears to be bank records.” Cornhead
It is very doubtful that even a single Dem House Member would vote to impeach.
But if the House does vote to impeach Biden, when it goes to the Senate for trial, Joe Manchin’s vote will set history’s judgment of him.
And if given irrefutable evidence of Biden’s High Crimes and Misdemeanors, a Senator’s failure “to vote to remove Joe Biden from office for taking bribes and then doing things that helped the entity that paid the bribe” will render them complicit in Biden’s corruption for they will have acted to obstruct justice.
There’s also a Trump angle here. Admitting that Biden is corrupt requires admitting that Trump was right about Ukraine and Burisma. It also requires accepting that the Ukraine impeachment was a farce and was probably more about innoculating Biden from his own corruptoin than it was about Trump’s poor judgment.
We are looking forward very much to
hearing from Devon Archer……seeing any of these sleazebags held accountable for anything.
Stan writes “ Nixon was impeached for wanting to do the things that FDR, JFK and LBJ actually did.”
AND WHAT OBAMA DID (2010-12)— using the IRS against his political enemies.
President Obams “weaponized” the IRS first, betraying his oath office and subverting Constitutional Rule of Law, and perverting subsequent federal departments into Democrat Dungeons. (The BDSM kind is what I have in mind, not a child’s or teen Cos Play versions.) Until this score is accounted for and settled, any Restoration of the Republic remains forever in doubt!
If Archer’s testimony turns out as predicted, I still don’t think it will matter, except to the right and some smattering of Independents paying attention.

I understand and sympathize with this expectation. However, as I read history, stuff works until it doesn’t.
I’m not so rash to assure a positive outcome here, but I hold out the possibility that the evidence cascade against Biden may result in a preference cascade against Biden, especially given the disenchantment of not a small nor powerless group of Democrats.
Nixon was never impeached; he resigned.
Lyndon Johnson was scheduled to be the subject of a special issue of “Life ” magazine the last week of November 1963. It would be about the history of his corruption going back to 1948. The final editorial meeting was on November 22, 1963. The group broke for lunch and heard about the assassination of Kennedy. That issue was canceled and the subject never came up again.
Mark Felt took down Nixon as revenge for being passed over for FBI Director. Woodward and Bernstein were stenographers.
Nixon was hated by the Left for Hiss. Hugh Hewitt, on his radio show, used to have a question for reporters he had never interviewed before. A WaPo reporter called in and he asked her the question . “Was Alger Hiss a Soviet spy?” She hung up.
There is a theory out there on the right that McCord was a CIA plant.
well he worked for the office of security, you do the math,
devin nunes was like a more affable nixon, but he was checkmated by the deep state players, targeted by nsa, lawfare et al redistricted out of existence,
yes political surveillance was carried out by more freelance operation like intertel, whose boss was a former kennedy partisan, sheridan, at the nsa, hush money good grief what was west virginia all about, not to mention chicago,
“Democracy means my kid wins.” Andrew Pollis, Case Western Reserve University School of Law. And every other liberal I know personally.
Why are we hearing about what the testimony is expected to be, but not actually getting the testimony? What does it mean that we’re getting pre-news here and not actual news?
