  1. RE: UFOs and assertions by Air Force whistleblower David Grusch–

Perhaps we need to revisit the immortal words of character Julius Levinson in the film “Independence Day” i.e.

“You didn’t think they actually spent ten thousand dollars for a hammer and thirty thousand for a toilet seat, did you? “*

Here is a link to some very interesting ideas and speculations by well known and highly credentialed Harvard Astronomer Avi Loeb about what Whistleblower Grusch has said so far, about how to determine if some object is extraterrestrial, Von Neumann probes, about the possible presence of alien life in our galaxy, and many other topics.**

P.S.–The snippets of David Grusch’s interview on NewsNation which have been released so far are apparently a teaser for what appears to be a much longer interview to be shown by NewsNation this Sunday.***

I have a feeling that Coulthart and the folks at NewsNation will drag this out, and feed us just a little bit of what Grusch says at a time.

  2. Perhaps, as some say, that extraterrestrials are here and living among us that they have taken over the body of Joe Biden and his advisors. This would be a plausible explanation for the purposeful destruction of every aspect of the USA.

  3. Show me evidence of an extraterrestrial generation spaceship arriving here, or that they have faster-than-light travel, and I’ll think about whether we have aliens here. Otherwise, the idea is pure nonsense.

  4. This is NOT a political comment.

I got a real bad case of the sads this morning. Oh, I’m angry. I’m ready to fight. But for a few moments I felt grief.

America is dead. It’s been dying since 1993 and the finishing blow was likely in 2016. And it’s sad. I’m sad for my kids. I’m sad for what might have been. I’m sad when I fully contemplate the overwhelming amount of hate that has driven the destruction.

Biden, Obama, the Clintons and the rest of Big Brother’s politburo have made it perfectly clear. Soros and the dark money crowd, The NY Times, WaPo, the big tech censors — they aren’t fooling around. They intend to crush dissent. Crush.

Think about it. There’s a non-zero chance that my comments on the internet and my social media posts could lead to me being dragged off some day to solitary without bail or trial just as the leftist gestapo has dragged off J6 people. That’s sobering. I would never have believed that as a kid or a young adult.

The Democrats use a frighteningly vast array of tools to steal elections. Their behavior makes it absolutely clear that they no longer believe they will ever be out of power again. The masks are off. It’s ugly. It looks more and more like they seriously want to provoke violence. And violence may be the only recourse that remains to save us.

This isn’t about politics or policy. This is about dictatorial abuse of power. This is about that which EVERY moral, patriotic American should be united in opposition. Regardless of their policy preferences.

    Profoundly sad today.

  5. We lived in an Airstream when we were building here. Every day for a while, a cardinal would annoy the heck out of us endlessly pecking at its reflection outside. It’s true, they just don’t seem to get tired of doing it.

One of our prettiest and most common birds here in the Texas Coastal Bend. It and the mourning dove are among the common bird calls we hear.

  6. Stan, it is sad. But also remember that maybe over 50% of the population is happy with the situation….I see all over social media from even moderate democrat friends. They think this is wonderful. They don’t see the storm clouds coming.

WE are in the minority by a decades old plan that has been flawlessly executed. I don’t know where we go from here. Any imagined path is quite terrifying.

  7. Stan and Phisicsguy:

If the Dems are planning a slow takeover of the USA, they’ve overlooked one significant factor: demographics. A group that lionizes homosexuality, transsexuality, and abortion will lose the birthrate race over the long run. How long will that take? I don’t know, but the odds don’t favor a group that reproduces at less than 2.1 children per couple is headed for oblivion. Granted, Republican birthrate is not significantly higher, but it is higher.

  8. F – the weakest case for optimism. But thanks for identifying the lowest bar.

37 counts, 31 on the virtually unenforceable Wilson Era Espionage Act! are in the unsealed Trump indictment.

Today, Rachel Madow on MSNBC has now endorsed a One Party America. Seriously. No joke. (Albeit, not in these words.)

  9. We have an abundance of cardinals here. They are especially prevalent during the winter, but from their birdsong I can tell there are plenty here during the summer too. Last winter my wife counted something like 22 of them, more males than females, on a single huge vitex (chaste tree) in our back yard – it has a feeder hanging from it. But, what a sight! It looked like a Christmas tree.

  10. RE: Air Force Whistleblower Grusch’s claims about UFOs–

Here is a compilation of followup material from NewsNation, out today, about the claims of AF Intelligence official David Grusch regarding UFOs, this compilation including the words of former Astronauts, and particularly a long section featuring former Astronaut Edgar Mitchell (one I’ve never seen before), as he very calmly and at some length confirms the situation with regards to UFOs as being just as Grusch is saying it is.*

  11. Re: Avi Loeb, Aliens

acollierastro posted a takedown of Avi Loeb as something of a crackpot or at least a cynical scientist who plays the game well.

She compares him unfavorably to Luis Alvarez who, among other things, won a Nobel Prize and later led the way to the asteroid collision theory of dinosaur extinction.

–“harvard & aliens & crackpots: a disambiguation of Avi Loeb”
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aY985qzn7oI

    A. Collier is persuasive.

However, she doesn’t come to terms with the fact that Loeb is not just some common garden-variety crackpot with a perpetual motion machine, but a scientist who scaled the heights of academia to become the head of the Harvard Astronomy Dept., a position presumably coveted by anyone with a Ph.D in astronomy.

It seems academia is rife with people who climb to the top with little commitment to truth and fair play.

  12. Huxley—As an undergraduate I had a first row seat to witness academic politics at work and, from reputation, and from what I myself have seen, academic politics are far more vicious than ordinary politics.

So, I’m not expecting someone who has risen to become the head of a department at Harvard to be anything but someone who is very adept at those politics, and not a saint.

  13. Snow on Pine:

    OK.

But you were the one who linked Avi Loeb as a “well known and highly credentialed Harvard Astronomer.”

“Not a saint” covers a lot of ground including self-aggrandizing player posing as Galileo being persecuted by the Vatican.

As A. Collier points out, if you are the Head of the Harvard Astronomy Dept, you are not a feisty outsider challenging the Establishment. You are the Establishment.

It reminds me of Michelle Obama’s self-serving claim that they were Speaking Truth to Power.

    Spare me.

Are you channeling Sarah Hoyt today?
    https://accordingtohoyt.com/2023/06/09/the-war-on-humans/

If our current “elites” were Lizard Aliens, bent on destroying us before we move off planet, what would they be doing differently?

Go on. Think about it. I’ll wait.

Bet you that you didn’t come up with anything. Or at least anything that doesn’t go “But then again.”

Oh, you might have come up with some reason they’re not lizards. The lizard is there for funsies. They seem very upset about a warming world, so perhaps they’re ice moles or something. All the same —

It is not my point to argue that our self-proclaimed better are aliens. I mean, sometimes I look at it and go “Whoa, what are the chances they wouldn’t do something beneficial to humans at least once, by accident?” But then again, you know? That’s like Biden never hires anyone who doesn’t turn out to be — literally — some form of criminal loon. Not on purpose (probably) but because of the water he swims in and what he is. So, it’s entirely possible the “elites” are just human haters without being aliens. Which is far less fun. But more likely. Though I think the time for “far fetched conspiracy theory” to become “Absolutely reality” is now three days or less.

Anyvay…. moving right along, the place where “they’re aliens and trying to exterminate us” is most obvious is the proliferation of genders.

Long discussion follows, mostly what one would expect from Sarah & commenters, but I likes this observation:

James the lesser says: June 9, 2023 at 7:24 pm
“I suppose Uncle Screwtape can look like a lizard if he wants to.”

Even C. S. Lewis would have trouble writing an updated version of “The Screwtape Letters” today.

  15. Thanks AF. I hadn’t seen that. But it does get one to thinking….what would they be doing differently if they want to exterminate our civilization in the long run?
