How do they train those caterpillars to stay on the eyelids?
Om: The caterpillars are drugged.
I have a young friend who was just accepted to train with the Royal Ballet of London. I had to do some research to find that the Royal Ballet school that accepted that 6’3″ male “ballerina” was some other school.
I’d call this one “too much networking,” not “too much tech.”
In a blog post, Dr. Ken Tindell, CTO of Canis Automotive Labs, explained how most cars have “sophisticated car security systems, including an engine immobilizer,” which must be bypassed to steal the vehicle. Through the CAN [Controller Area Network] bus, thieves have discovered a way to hack into the car’s communications and send false messages that unlock the doors and engine immobilizer.
_ _ _
Thieves apparently used the headlight wiring to access the car’s CAN bus, which they then used to send a series of false messages to the Electronic Control Units (ECUs) in order to take over the vehicle.
Looking at the video that began your open thread I was reminded of a segment of the Dana Loesch show I listened to while driving yesterday. She said she had studied ballet for over a decade as a young girl and the acceptance of this man to the Royal Academy of Dance in Britain hit way too close to home for her, i.e. sacrilegious! I also was reminded of Victor Davis Hanson saying that, although he liked reading Ace of Spades, he conceded Ace could sometimes be “cruel”. Ace said this guy doing ballet was like trying to imagine watching a drunk goose on roller skates. Cruel, possibly. Funny, definitely.
At least it’s not a “Backstage Beauty at Anheuser-Busch” video starring Dylan Mulvaney.
For huxley: Just in case you’re thinking of moving to France some day, be sure your French is comme il faut: here’s a news item about a Florida couple who moved to Paris, then gave up on their new digs “thanks to French haughtiness, language difficulties, homesickness, the challenges of living in walk-up apartments, and some bad French onion soup”– and moved back to Boca Raton:
OMG…here we go again. the Daily Mail has a story about the “Arcturus covid variant” (I guess they ran out of greek letters and now have moved on to star names) causing “havoc” in India and now detected in the US!!!!
BTW, I’m still tracking data just in case something like this comes along. Cases and deaths everywhere in the states I track are way down and really at background level. Most states showing about 1-2deaths/day and the US, in general, has cases declining at 10k/day for the last 4 months. Just look up from HHS the number of deaths/day from all other diseases for each state and you’ll see that covid is now around 1-3%. The common flu is probably worse or about the same; especially for the infirm.
Here’s the best comment on the article: “New variant “Little Red Riding Hood” is on the run with the Big Bad Wolf Pfizer on its tail!”
Re: moving to Paris
I can’t believe anybody would want to permanently relocate to Paris -or anywhere else in France (or any other country) – and not have at least a conversational ability in French (or the language of that country).
What was that Florida couple thinking?
Also, in my several trips to France I found that the French – that is, those not living in / around Paris – were friendly and were tolerant of my highly imperfect French. They also spoke slower and it was easier to understand them vs. Parisiens.
Paris is another story.
If you can’t speak French that is equivalent to Abba Eban’s english, you will be treated like merde.
Neo, I know how much you love ballet. So I am going to warn you now, please do not look up Sophie Rebecca at the Royal Academy of Dance.
I once saw a similar video with Chita Rivera. She drew cricket-hoop semicircles under her eyes to create the illusion of plump cheeks. At the distances involved in live theater, the illusion was complete.
Regarding Covid, here are two hour long YT videos about the vaccines that are quite disturbing.
First, https://youtu.be/Y1yUOGGC_I8, Robert Kennedy Jr. on Fauci and the corruption in the NIH and associated medical bureaucracies.
Second, Bari Weiss, https://youtu.be/T9Y_W_30hsM, on the vaccines, the admission by Pfizer and others that they didn’t work as promised, and her startling claim that they were originally designed as bio-weapons.
Food for thought.
