What’s up with the Trump grand jury?
No one seems to know the answer to the above question. But there’s been a bit of a pause, perhaps for Bragg to re-group after Costello’s testimony undermining whatever case he had presented, which had depended on the testimony of the extremely dubious witness Michael Cohen.
Speculation abounds; you can read some of it here:
As I reported on Monday, witness Robert Costello said he thought that he’d gotten through to some of the members of the grand jury when he was telling them that Michael Cohen was not a reliable witness, but was a serial liar.
Now the word is the grand jury will also not be meeting today (Thursday) on the case, a source has confirmed to Fox News.
Since they don’t meet on Friday, that means that they won’t be making any kind of a decision on the matter until at least next week…
Looks like they’re having some difficulty indicting that “ham sandwich.”
There’s also a House invegestigation going on involving Bragg’s possible use of federal funds.
Speaking of the House, there’s this response from Bragg:
House GOP members demanded Bragg give them answers about probing into President Donald Trump’s alleged hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels.
Bragg responded…:
“Your letter dated march 20, 2023, (the ‘Letter’), in contrast, is an unprecedented inquiry into a pending local prosecution,” wrote Bragg’s office. “The Letter only came after Donald Trump created a false expectation that he would be arrested the next day and his lawyers reportedly urged you to intervene. Neither fact is a legitimate basis for congressional inquiry.”
Bragg’s office claims the investigation, which started before Bragg took office in January 2022, has been consistent with his “oath to faithfully execute the laws of the State of New York.”
The office also told the members that Bragg would “publicly state the conclusion of our investigation- whether we conclude our work without bringing charges, or move forward with an indictment.”
“And if charges are brought at the conclusion, it will be because the rule of law and faithful execution of the District Attorney’s duty require it.”
Sure thing.
Various elected New York officials have been trying to get the Great Orange Whale since his presidency, often campaigning on such a vow. But Cohen is such a bad witness that it might not be possible, once again, even with a jury pool like New York’s.
Or perhaps this is just a slight speed bump. I see this possible prosecution as having four main purposes. The first is to show the base they’re trying. The second is to hurt Trump further with moderates. The third is to elevate him with his supporters, who might then nominate him as a very tainted GOP candidate for president in 2024 to oppose the also-tainted Biden. And the fourth is to remind any other wannabee swamp-clearers that the left will relentlessly pursue them by all means necessary. Neither an indictment nor a conviction is necessary for any of those four goals to be accomplished.
They have to make up more evidence it takes time, see the bureau agent inside the proud boys defense team
Or maybe they’re throwing a bone to their base, but not actually going through with it, because they know that it would benefit Trump yugely in the election.
The one thing we can be assured of, is that it is an entirely political process.
Glad to see The Great Orange Whale is recognized. Almost a farce of nature.
“I strike at thee!” (Through the courts and through the depths of Hell (or the media)).

Orange Whale Bad?
Moby Don?
There are also elements of Melville’s Billy Budd lurking here om.
Cohen/Avenatti 2028!
the humor has a little ash in it, bragg is a monster, the dead the maimed the raped don’t concern him I thought vance jr was a cold blooded character,
Bragg, like all the other Soros prosecutors, is essentially living, breathing, walking babbling…”reparations”.
The bill: The dead, the wounded, the maimed, the damaged. The always fearful. The obliterated.
The methodology: Intimidation, threats and subversion. Turning reality inside out. Inverting the truth on its head. Constant anxiety, fear, panic and sorrow.
The mission: The destruction of the country.
Soros—Mr. Democracy himself—is the sugar daddy.
File under: Vengeance is Mine. Vengeance is Ours. We will make you pay. All of you.
Bragg is so full of it, it would be funny were it not for the fact that he relishes destroying the lives of so many innocent people.
(Oops, forgot that for Bragg, the only innocent people are the perps…)
“…Manhattan DA Fires Off Angry Letter Blaming Trump For Arrest Rumors”—

Prosecutorial ethical obligations forbid focusing on an individual with the intent of finding something, anything, with which to charge him. To campaign on the promise that “I pledge that I will devote all the power of the District Attorney’s Office to pursuing that dirty bird Brad Pitt” is shameful. I continue to be amazed that so few people have criticized the announced intentions to abuse prosecutorial power that we’ve seen coming from various New York politicians.
As we’ve seen, DA Bragg is a tad overweight, making him vulnerable to ridicule. In multiple ways, the spectacle has been disgraceful, regrettable, and completely avoidable. I for one wash my hands of the entire tawdry affair.
This is about the size of it:

No one expects ……
the mattress police.
It ain’t over until the Fat Man sings.
It’s an interesting exercise to calibrate what today’s Democrats can and can’t do.
They have much power and few scruples, however they haven’t yet put Trump’s head on a pike. And not for lack of trying.
Of course, that’s only the maximal objective. They are succeeding on the other points neo listed.
Still, it’s good to know …

(Never saw that before. That’s from their “Rock and Roll Circus” concert film which they withheld until recently. Jagger looks impossibly skinny and it was Brian Jones’ last appearance as a Stone.)
“Donald Trump created a false expectation that he would be arrested”
Had to laugh at that one, Dem nutters (redundant I know) have been salivating for years at the prospect.
I have to laugh at the people now claiming that Trump lied about whether he was going to be arrested. Good grief. Trump was invited to testify before the GJ last week, which is typically the prelude to being indicted. Also, I find it hard to believe that the NYPD would have mobilized this week based only on Trump’s braying on Truth social. (Wouldn’t they have, perhaps, given the DA’s office a call before spending resources to mobilize for arrest protests? Maybe not, I don’t know.)
Frankly, the “Trump made it all up” move is probably the best news that Trump has had all week. It sure looks to me like Bragg is trying to walk down off the ledge and the dig at Trump is a weak attempt to save face – although it will probably work with his base – (The “it’s actually Trump’s fault” excuse will probably work with the leftist base for another decade or two.)
Your move Georgia and DOJ Special Prosecutor. . .
Since Bragg, like “Biden” (like all Democrats) is a member of “The Resistance”(TM), it is quite obvious—it only stands to reason—that he (like “Biden”, like all Democrats) is being victimized by the Deplorable/White-Supremacist/Racist/Can’t-Dance/Trumpist Establishment(TM).
I mean, give the guy a break… His life is definitely in danger: one of those simply awful can’t-dance dudes could “accidentally” on purpose trip him up on the dance floor, or the sidewalk (which is not only a felony but—far worse—a hate crime) and put him in the hospital with a severe ego fracture. To be fair, the can’t-dance terrorist (there’s no other word for it) will likely be put away in the slammer for two life sentences (reducible to one for good behavior).
Red states should reconsider extradition and other interstate agreements with New York.
