Who’s Zoomin’ who? — 19 Comments

  1. Kris makes a good point. My daughter, who has a security clearance and works for a government contractor, uses some company secure video program, not Zoom.

  2. I was not particularly tuned into popular music in the 80’s and this is the first I’ve ever heard of this particular Aretha song.

  3. “To be fair to Papa Joe he and Aretha were born in the same year.”

Yet Aretha is more sentient, go figure.

  4. Joe suffered a rupture of an aneurysm of his anterior communicating artery LONG ago. He–as every single human who that has happened to– had damage to his frontal lobe from that–and has shown us all the symptoms ever since.

With age, things have only gotten more apparent.

  5. Doddering old fool is too kind a label for such a despicable excuse for a human being.

  6. My guess is some young staffer or family member made a sort of joke about this, perhaps multiple times, and now Joe makes the comment his own. A neuroscientist might have a take on why Joe can’t remember Zoom, but can remember the Aretha Franklin song that wasn’t from his generation and that he may never have heard.

  7. Sen. Tim Scott is a breath of fresh air.
    Articulate and to the point.
Unflinchingly calls it like it is.
    He’s considering running for POTUS.
“Sen. Tim Scott: Dems ‘Working on Blueprint’ to Ruin America”—

    Key grafs:
‘…”Why is that negative to point out under Joe Biden’s leadership we’ve had the highest inflation in 40 years?” he said. “Why is it negative to point out that we’ve had four and a half million people across our southern border illegally? Why is it negative to point out the fact that we’ve had 100,000 deaths to overdoses linked to fentanyl?”
‘ Without understanding the “weakness of the progressive movement,” he added, “then it is impossible for us to offer positive optimistic solutions to the challenges we face because of the progressive wing of the Democrat Party.”…
‘…when asked if he sees a “lane” for himself in the primary, Scott told Fox News that the more important lane is for “kids growing up in single-parent houses like I did.”
‘ “Can we make sure the lane to the American dream is open for them?…. My focus is still on the mission of making sure that every single American believes that the American dream is achievable for them.”…
‘…Scott also said that a message of optimism is important, as “America is a country founded on the concept of hope,” but the left is “trying to sell a drug of victimhood and a narcotic of despair.”….’
    I would add “…and HATE.”

In any event, I find him absolutely magnificent.

  8. As to the song, I think of it a lot whenever I hear the word “Zoom”.

    As to Joe:
1 — Of course he remembers it as “his” generation. Anything good comes from “his” generation.
2 — With Joe, think of it more as a Waltzing Bear problem… The amazing thing about the waltzing bear is not how well the bear waltzes, it’s that he waltzes at all. With Joe, memory is the waltz. It’s not what he remembers, it’s that he remembers anything whatsoever.
