KimGardner…
…may really be in trouble now.
“As Attorney General, I want to protect the people of St. Louis, and that includes protecting victims of crime and finding justice for them,” said Attorney General Andrew Bailey. “Instead of protecting victims, Circuit Attorney Gardner is creating them. My office will do everything in its power to restore order, and eliminate the chaos in St. Louis caused by Kim Gardner’s neglect of her office.”
On February 18, 2023, Janae Edmonson, a teenage athlete, was walking back to her hotel in downtown St. Louis after a volleyball tournament when she was run down by a speeding vehicle and lost both of her legs. One was severed, and the other maimed. Ms. Edmonson survived the crash due to her father’s quick action and emergency medical training, but both of her legs were amputated.
The driver of the speeding vehicle, Daniel Riley, should never have been in that car. He is a dangerous gunman who should have been in jail. In 2020, the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Riley with First Degree Robbery and Armed Criminal Action for stealing a firearm from a victim at gunpoint.

There’s going to have to be a reckoning for this sort of thing. Crimes like this must be punished in this life as well as recompensed in the one to come.
Rational people would realize that catch and release is not working. Crime rises as criminals essentially spend no time in jail and understand they have a get-out-of-jail-free card allowing them to continue their life of crime.
Therefore, the people letting criminals off the hook are not rational or they see some greater “good” that’s not apparent to the rest of us.
Update: Missouri AG fires Dem attorney Kim Gardner after she refuses to resign over public safety outcry .
Bye bye, Chesa Boudin.
Bye bye, Kim Gardner.
When AGs release from prison or don’t imprison offenders who go on to kill someone or cause extreme bodily harm, the relatives of the victims may not have warm, fuzzy feelings towards the AGs responsible.
God forgive me but sometimes I think these people WANT a race war.
None of this is accidental. All of it is intentional.
Marxist ‘progressives’ are barbarians in that they reject civilized norms of behavior, such as the rule of law, in pursuit of their ideological agenda and justify the cruelty and criminality they enable as necessary to the end sought. The barbarians haven’t just entered the gates, they control the gates.
“If you are not prepared to use force to defend civilization, then be prepared to accept barbarism.” Thomas Sowell
The results of actions such as Gardner’s would, in other circumstances, be felonies.
Another egregious case, from Powerline’s Picks Thursday:
https://www.americanexperiment.org/court-failures-continue-as-gun-offender-murders-a-man-just-40-minutes-after-walking-out-of-court/
How long will voters continue to put up with their own legal establishments colluding in their murder?
Maybe these people want a race war, but their primary victims are African American (i.e., the victims of increased city crime).
I think it’s worse than that, frankly. I think they truly believe that the only just society is one in which punishments are equally distributed by race. It’s the equivalent of looking for your keys under a lamp post. Equalizing crime rates by race would be hugely difficult and would likely require slaughtering more than a few of the left’s sacred cows.
CDR Salamander has a weekly feature called “Diversity Thursday” and this time he focused on Biden Inc’s new EO for reinstituting racism and segregation in American government and society.
They don’t call it that, but that’s what it is.
Just exchanging who is favored and who is not doesn’t alter the basic definition.

Can this poor girl or her family sue the city or Gardner for failure to control a wild beast? Yes, yes, I know, immunity for officials in the course of performing their duties (and Gardner is almost certainly judgment-proof anyway) but we can dream, can’t we?
And if this wild beast is ever again allowed to roam loose, maybe a well-prepared citizen can do us all a favor.
