The FBI explains that it was just protecting us, as usual — 13 Comments

  1. John Tyler linked to this in another comment thread. https://www.manhattancontrarian.com/blog/2022-12-21-you-must-assume-that-all-information-put-out-by-our-government-is-corrupt

I would expand that. You must assume that all information provided by academics is also corrupt, especially if it has any political impact.

Same for Hollywood. Movies like “Glory Road” and “Remember the Titans” are seriously dishonest in all the important aspects of their plots.

The left lies, steals and cheats. Always. In everything. It’s a critical, fundamental aspect of their religion. Their supporters revel in the dishonesty and the corruption.

  2. stan:

Do you really have a clue what you’re talking about when you say things like “their supporters revel in the dishonesty and the corruption”?

I don’t think you do. Do you know every supporter of leftists? Of course not. And I know plenty of them who don’t match your description.

I have written about this many many times before, both in posts and in comments. This is becoming highly tedious, because you and I have had these exchanges before as well.

  3. The abomination of an omnibus (nearly certain to prevail) contains money for an expensive new building for our very own Stasi, as well as funds for “border security” in foreign lands but not for Texas, in addition to numerous examples of idiotic concessions to the madness of D.I.E. (i.e. “woke” insanity), but, of course, it is necessary to pass it in order to find out what it contains.

  4. Aficionados of Tony Hillerman’s mystery novels set in the Southwest may recall that the hard-working Navajo Nation Police (who are the crime-solving heroes and heroines of his stories) routinely refer to FBI agents as “Fibbies.”

  5. The management except for skinner were more accurately depicted in the x files specially kurt busch csm as he later revealed himself*

*he was involved in everything from the hit on lumumba to fixing the 1980 olympics

  6. … the sole purpose of attempting to discredit the agency.

Just like those conservatives, always bad-mouthing the police.

  7. Clearly the top management of the FBI thinks that they will never be held to account. One has to wonder if they possess the astuteness to realize that every new criminal action they add to the list of their crimes increases the odds that one way or another they will be made to pay for their crimes. What can’t go on, won’t go on because their ‘center’ cannot indefinitely hold.

  8. The FBI flack who drafted that statement could be a graduate of the Erich Mielke Charm School. Mielke–a murderer, a thug, and an NKVD hit man–was the longtime head of the Stasi. Here he is in his last appearance before the East German People’s Chamber in November 1989, a few days after the Wall came down:

    https://youtu.be/CQuou0XWUe0?t=150

He is explaining to the deputies that everything he did–all the arrests, the torture sessions, the networks of informants, the executions, the orders to shoot down people trying to escape his socialist hellhole–he did out of his deep love for the East German people and the working class. Yes, comrades: love.

Mielke was arrested after reunification and eventually convicted of the 1931 murders of two Berlin policemen, more than sixty years after the fact. He did some prison time, but was released early and died in a nursing home in 2000. Pity. If anybody deserved the Ceausescu treatment, he did.

Stan: I have a clue what you’re talking about. The leftists I know–and I know a lot of them, having grown up in Massachusetts and worked in academe for over 30 years–fall into roughly three categories. The ones who get a kick out of the dishonesty and corruption and sticking it to their political enemies; the ones who tolerate the dishonesty and corruption or make excuses for it because it’s in a good cause; and the ones who know a few simple things–social justice good, NPR good, NYT good, progressives good, conservatives bad–and don’t want to think beyond that. The latter group can include otherwise highly intelligent people who simply don’t want to be bothered with conflicting information or inconvenient facts. That would describe most of my relatives; and I suspect most of Neo’s acquaintances also fall into that category. Your experience of the Left may be skewed towards the first two categories.

  9. If it’s business as usual, federalize the National Guard in all 50 states and put them to work escorting FBI employees out of their offices and sealing up said offices. The contents of the HQ in Washington should be transferred to a warehouse and the building demolished in short order. About 3.5% of all law enforcement personnel in this country work for the FBI, so it should not be a disaster for public order. Eventually, construct a storage facility and move the contents of all offices there to be catalogued and audited. Don’t give the ba*tards any notice. They just show up for work one day and there’s the Guard to take away their arms and march ’em out.

  10. stan (2:45 pm) summarizes:

“The left lies, steals and cheats. Always. In everything. It’s a critical, fundamental aspect of their religion. Their supporters revel in the dishonesty and the corruption.”

stan, I think you can get around neo’s objection(s) by including well-placed qualifiers as you vent your anger (which I share) — such as:

“The radical, militant left lies, and is not above stealing and cheating. It can be a critical, fundamental aspect of their warfare, whose practice can resemble a religion in many ways. Its most belligerent adherents seem to revel in the dishonesty and the corruption.”

A bonus is that the foregoing is actually much closer to the truth*, and you can come off as being more grounded: more serious, actually.

Agreed, something like the foregoing is much less satisfying. Now, in no way am I going to tell you how to express yourself or what to express. Just a suggestion, though . . .

    * [See neo’s rebuke. Like neo, I also know a few leftists who simply don’t match your description; those are *terribly* mistaken, and those may or may not look the other way when they see the dishonesty and corruption. For me, it’s up for grabs the extent to which those are *willfully* blind, but blind they are.]
