Sometimes a roundup seems like the only way to deal with so much news
(1) Almost everything you wanted to know about voting in California but were afraid to ask – once you read this piece, you’ll see why it takes so long to count the votes in California, even if fraud isn’t going on. And if it is, it would take just a little longer.
(2) Please read this at Ace’s on DeSantis and donor money.
(3) San Francisco is instituting a pilot program to pay transgender people for – well, for nothing. It will be giving low-income transgender people who apply a guaranteed income of $1,200 per month for 18 months, courtesy of the local taxpayers. I guess regular welfare isn’t enough. One wonders at the legality of this sort of thing – isn’t it sexually discriminatory? But I see that San Francisco already has a similar program for black and and Pacific islander low income women who are pregant (that is, “pregnant people”). That would seem racially discriminatory to me as well. Both of these programs do not monitor how the money is used.
(4) Nancy Pelosi will not be running for Minority Leader. Before you get all happy about that, take a look at who will probably succeed her.
(5) The Republican-led House starts in on Hunter and Joe. Speaking of the House, another thing they’re planning to do – and might even be able to do – is cut off the funding for all those new IRS agents.
Hakeem, in the horrific event of his attaining power, is likely to prove even worse than the octogenarian stock-trader; while going after the senile buffoon and his son the brilliant painter/writer/bon vivant is certainly warranted, beginning the process of impeachment against the two worst malefactors in the rogues’ gallery which is this administration (Garland and Mayorkas) is even more important.
On 5; those are some low bars that even as low as they are, I don’t expect the GOP to hurdle.
Biden had direct involvement with Hunter’s business deals? Yeah, we figured that out before the laptop was dropped off for repair. The laptop just verifies which business deals. None of it matters when the DOJ has already avoided either naming a special prosecutor or prosecuting the matter themself.
As for defunding the IRS, that would take an expiration of the previous budget, which isn’t likely to happen when you only control one chamber of Congress. At best, you can shut down the government, which ain’t happening. Not that I recall the GOP promising to do anything related to the IRS.
I’ll consider the GOP controlled House to be a success if they can get just one DOJ official under indictment in the next 2 years. Heck, I’ll be happy if the House strips former agent Jay Abbott of his retirement pension for not reporting his conflict of interest in pursuing a job with USOC while opting to not investigate Larry Nasser. But I don’t expect that to happen either. Ignoring the sexual assault of young girls by connected individuals is now par for the course for the US government.
#2 – So? Trump was mostly self funded, few can do that. It does take deep pockets to run a Presidential campaign. If you are saying that you won’t vote for DeSantis because of the money issue that is your right, just don’t carp about losing.
#4 Agree, but he may not be able control the members like Nancy did.
I agree Leland. See what I just wrote on the top topic on the Mar-a-Lago raid. The GOP is a lot of hot air.
1) Did you see the part about enabling after election day votes to counted, if a private delivery provider fails to date the mailing (or the USPS possibly) and the “voter” back dates the envelope? A fraudster’s dream come true.
No reason to get excited,Biden’s will never be held accountable, I guarantee it.
2) Ask yourself, if you were mega wealthy, would you donate very large sums of money to a politician whose rhetoric not only was opposed to your political views but whose actions backed up their rhetoric? Would you do so if they repeatedly proved that they were using you and that you were in effect, funding those whose political views you strongly opposed?
Somebody help me out here, had you the means, upon what basis would you do so?
5) Hearings mean little if the only people paying attention to them and even able to see reportage on them are the choir. Even impeachment means little if the result is a failure to convict in the Senate with very little main stream coverage of the trial(s).
If ultimately, Garland et al remains in their job, the MSM will use that failure to convict as ‘proof’ that the ‘evil’ republicans are ‘politicizing’ the rule of law. Demonstrating themselves to be a mortal threat to democracy! That the impeachment process is not a legal process is an irrelevancy for low info voters.
“The Republican-led House starts in on Hunter and Joe. ”
These hearings will be an absolute waste of time and result in a big fat zero.
First off, the media will totally ignore them, ensuring that about 1/2 of all voters have no idea that hearings are being held.
And if any tiny aspect of these hearings are reported, it will be reported by the media as a one sided witch hunt based upon mythical allegations to slander the enemies of the republicans.
In response to questions, those testifying will either not recollect, deny any act of malfeasance (e.g., ” that is not how I recollect that conversation”) , or just plain lie.
It’s been shown over and over and over and over that if that nothing at all happens to those that lie when testifying before these congressional committees.
And let’s assume that enough evidence is produced to impeach Biden.
Well big F’n deal.
Bill Clinton was impeached and look what happened to him.
Oh, that’s right nothing at all.
And this assumes enough votes in the House will even vote to impeach. You can bet that a bunch of republicans will join with the dems and vote not to impeach.
That is the republican MO.
What about that laptop??
Rest assured it will never be found and if produced, by some incredible miracle, much / all the data is gone forever.
The only hope – in theory – is a special prosecutor to investigate, and we all know how effective that is; just a far longer, drawn out waste of time and money.
By the way is that chap Durham still about?
When one of the two political parties that govern this nation decide to play by its own rules (the power hungry at all costs party) and the other side keeps playing by the rules (this would be the stupid party, the suicidal party, the dumpublicans), the stupid party will lose every single time.
And because the stupid party is, well, stupid, they never consider changing their strategy.
Supposedly, the American voter has the ability to change their representatives in government. The recent election has shown that enough voters want the status quo maintained.
I do believe that if we had an honest media as opposed to a demokrat party propaganda organ , things would be a lot different.
Never underestimate the power of non-stop, 24/7/365 propaganda.
“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time, but certainly long enough to find that your nation is irretrievably lost.”
And the entire balloting is done with voting machines. Another potential cheating angle. Along with same day registration. No voter id required. It’s very hard to not be signed up to vote at the dmv. And dmv gives driver licenses to non citizens. And very dirty voter rolls.
Supposedly, some California gop candidates figured out how to do their own ballot harvesting. Which is why a couple of gop leaning districts went back to gop candidates.
And from what I can tell, Ca Gop Party is doing no lawfare on the issue. Dirty Voter Rolls is a big target. And no attempt at a proposition / initiative to fix the system. State Gop party is still an elitist organization and their events are not cheap.
The Benghazi hearings with Trey Gowdy’s end result of nothing disillusioned me.
Plus the Gop refusing to investigate the Democrats Congress Pakistani IT scandal.
I agree with Sundance, this is just chaff. Lots of smoke to make the rubes believe something is happening.
The lack of much being done by the gop for the useful idiots of Jan 6, some almost 2 years in jail, is wrong.

Hopefully this time is different I pray…
