Reading the Mar-A-Lago raid tea leaves: it’s the Netanyahu lawfare gambit — 46 Comments

  1. “…and whether you think fraud may or may not have been involved in the results of the 2020 election that ousted him, it is unquestionable that Russiagate cost him many votes…”

Actually, I don’t think the 2020 election was the aim here.
The aim of Russiagate was to hog-tie Trump’s presidency AND—most importantly—to INFLUENCE THE 2018 mid-terms.

Trump was able to accomplish an amazing amount considering the efforts to block his every move…however, the Democratic Party CABAL’s efforts WRT the 2018 elections were entirely successful and enabled the two ultimately unsuccessful but politically damaging—not only to Trump but to the country as a whole—and demoralizing impeachments.

  2. I would love to see the source for the RedState report that the documents were sent to Mar-A-Lago by the GSA. Which documents? All of the confiscated documents or just some of them? Does the GSA typically just send all the documents that a departing/former president requests or is there some sort of review?

    These could be important facts.

  3. they sent them all to obama, and they weren’t categorized, ferriero, is one of those deep state weasels, who buries the ark in the new mexico desert,

the witchhunt against Netanyahu is also against Likud, as the left is thoroughly subsidized, Mandelbit’s case seems to have blown up in his face, as they used pegasus software to surveil him,

  4. I would love to see the source for the RedState report that the documents were sent to Mar-A-Lago by the GSA. Which documents? All of the confiscated documents or just some of them? The National Archives and Records Service was once a subdivision of the General Services Administration. There may be a residual relationship between the two in the handling of paper documents and electronic data. It’s plausible the people who packed the documents were GSA employees. Presumably, they were given instructions to empty out a specific set of filing cabinets. All things considered, 15 boxes is a modest quantum of paper, so they may have been the cabinets maintained by his face-to-face secretary and Melania’s face-to-face secretary.

  5. I know I’ve said this before but to me Biden was pretty much Nixon if Nixon was a democrat. (IE the media would do everything they could have to support his corrupt ass. The only major difference between the two is Nixon was apparently smart but Biden is easily the least intelligent person to be president in my lifetime.) I’m surprised that they stooped to the Mar-A-Lago raid which I see as the modern day version of the Watergate Robbery. Oh they try to frame it as a “legit” operation but as more and more comes out it’s no different. It would have been nice if the press had any scruples and would realize it as such instead of being on board with it.

  6. It’s a set up. Entrapment. A frame-up.
    Planted evidence?
    Of course.
(They made sure that Trump’s lawyers would be kept outside.)
The whole thing is bogus…but that’ won’t prevent them from the meticulously, scrupulously and…PATRIOTICALLY…performing the specially tailored persecution that they’ve been waging from DAY 1 and which they’ve been planning all along.

See the beauty of it is that NONE OF THE CHARGES HAVE TO BE true.
They just have to run with it and let the lies, conjecture and innuendo “do they’re thing”.
    It’s Russiagate and impeachment redux.
How do they put it?—LAWFARE? The PROCESS is the punishment?”
Where there’s smoke there’s fire? He’s got to be guilty because otherwise none of this stuff would be happening?

It’s “Biden”‘s version of Room 101 (or at least that’s the idea—a disgusting VENDETTA pathetically disguised as “the pursuit of JUSTICE”).

It’s not even “Third World Country” crap; it’s sheer thuggery…(for although “Biden” clearly wants to turn “his” country into a criminal state—a Zimbabwe (in more ways than one)—not every third-world country is a Zimbabwe….)

And if Trump ever gets disentangled from this “Biden”-orchestrated conspiracy—and it’s not the first or second or third one “he”‘s pulled—then maybe there’ll be an “Apologies, we were just trying to uphold THE LAW”…(just joking, no apologies will be forthcoming, no nuthin’—just a lot of pain, insult, law-breaking…and state-sponsored TERROR.)

Meanwhile, the Corrupt Media (and all the usual suspects) will be having a field day!!

How do you say…ABSOLUTE, GROTESQUE EVIL?

(I guess Karine Jean-Pierre has her work cut out for her: she’ll have to redefine “The American Way”…

  7. This just reinforces my belief that it is the media that has played the decisive role in trying to ensure that Trump was never elected President, was hobbled after he was so elected, then was fraudulently denied re-election, and now will (they hope) be prevented from running again!

The American media is dead set against Trump, and they act as a huge force multiplier aiding any private, government or political opponents to him.

The media feels it has a special power in politics, but that power is not above the law, something they fatuously accuse others of attempting to be, while keeping their own self-serving attitude of superiority out of the public discussion!

That special reservation for the media must change! Now that we are all enabled to be media-like in the reach of our ideas and opinions, it is time to end the special privileges the media has enjoyed, but has cynically abused!

‘We have been here before…swimming in a sea of deception…’

    Democratic-party generated EVIL on steroids.
    Again.

  9. Blood is boiling. The threats cannot convey the extent of the outrage. Whistle blowers in fbi and doj needed now.

Lawfare can work both ways. The problem is the GOP isn’t vindictive. They just want to get on with governing and life. So, the Javerts of the left do their thing and innocent people are ruined. And there is minimal blowback.

  10. I have believed all along that Netanyahu was the trial run for Trump. The Obama team is behind both. I have just never figured out why the Democrat Party has decided to destroy the country. I suppose it could just be the invincible ignorance of the faculty club that has never run anything successfully. I was a surgeon but I ran my office and signed the front of the paychecks. One reason doctors are turning left politically is that they are all now on salary. Obamacare ended the independent practice of medicine. It was already declining as medical students were all choosing “lifestyle specialties,” like Radiology and emergency medicine which mean shift work and no 24 hour days.

They just don’t know what they don’t know.

  11. some of the further details of that coen bros* militia plot, where they had five undercover agents, including one who was doing pot and sleeping with the schlubs more tim blake nelson then george clooney, part involved using a helicopter to kidnap the governor off mackinac island, planting explosives,

*you could just imagine john goodman and nick cage in the protagonists,

this is a mirror image of the panthers plot, that got leonard bernstein, all excited in that tom wolfe vignette,

  12. Arama misspelled l’alto.

Why does anyone cite polls? How are they any more credible than the rantings at the Daily Kos? Am I dating myself?

  13. you have to look at the absurdity of it, as well as the waste of time and money, the lives ruined by this kabuki, carried out by fitz mueller, now garland, while they were planning this cops and robbers, rushdies attacker was scheming,

we don’t face real threats from china from iran, from al queda branch affiliates, doesn’t matter you knock off one piece on the chess board or five, those who were not charged for the death and destruction spree of the last two years, you think they will just ‘lie back and think of england’ I don’t think so,

  14. BigD:
“I’m surprised that they stooped to the Mar-A-Lago raid which I see as the modern day version of the Watergate Robbery.” It’s telling that the Watergate burglars had to act in the shadows, because they knew that if what they did came to light it would damage them and their cause; yet Biden’s people had no qualms about doing it in the open, using the DOJ and FBI, because they knew the media would support them in any action they thought necessary to take down a rival. We live in dangerous times.

  15. DJT now saying the FBI Panty Wrayed stole 3 passports from him, one was old.
Many this weekend speculate the y will toss charges or indictment just a little ahead of the November election, just to sway votes and no time to put up a defense or block it.

  16. Perhaps the sickest part of this is that these morally defectives are claiming they are merely applying the “rule of law” to justify their wholesale abandonment of the rule of law.

  17. Prof. Cleveland often reads legal tea leaves correctly. This is an FBI/DOJ fishing trip to find something, anything, with which to indict Trump.

  18. ” I have just never figured out why the Democrat Party has decided to destroy the country. ”

    It’s what they do.
    Destroy individuals.
    Destroy families.
    Destroy society.
    Destroy institutions.
    Destroy trust.
    Destroy the country.
    Seems they can’t help themselves….

Actually, the REAL reason is that they know they have a lot to cover up. Then they realize they have to cover up the coverup, and then cover up THAT coverup, etc…all the way down the line, ad infinitum, ad absurdum.
Yep, there’s scads—a ton—of stuff they absolutely MUST cover up…
…and they feel they may be losing control…
That is something they MUST NOT ALLOW to happen.
To be sure, it ALMOST happened in Trump’s administration…and it’s why he HAD TO BE PREVENTED USING ANY AND ALL MEANS from being OFFICIALLY elected in 2022.

  19. I don’t know how much is fishing rather than gardening, because if they as brazen as they’ve shown up til now, then planting is more of an insurance policy for finding something to indict him. It seems fairly clear they can get Trump indicted and fighting in court during the 2024 campaign year. I thought that might happen soon, but now they may be waiting for the November results. In the meantime, they having successfully detracted voter attention from the grotesque legislation making its way through Congress.

  20. On the Obama role in both coups, remember how he made Netanyahu wait while he had dinner? I still wonder how much Muslim is left in Obama. Biden is an empty husk and was never smart. He has always invented Walter Mitty-like stories about himself. Obama or whoever is running Obama is running this regime. I’m still a bit suspicious of how smart Obama really is.

  21. In what universe do the Democrats conduct such a politically explosive ploy without the ‘certainty’ that it will be justified with the ‘discovery’ of sufficient ‘evidence’?

    “It’s a set up. Entrapment. A frame-up.
    Planted evidence?
    Of course.”

    Bingo.

  22. Speaking of coverups…

And they REALLY wanna know why they’ve lost any and all credibility; why they’re not believed….
(Actually, that’s not really true. Covid got “Biden” “elected” and at this point, they couldn’t care less…. In fact, now it’s warp speed to boldly move on to the next LOCK DOWN crisis, or crises, whatever they’ll decide to try.)

He spent five years living in Java. That’s about the last place in the Muslim world you’d learn to be a militant Muslim. His stepfather evidently had liver problems at the time of his death, so I don’t think he was a strictly observant fellow. Obama himself can be seen in a youtube clip offering 40 seconds worth of remarks in the Malay traders’ dialect that they use as a lingua franca in Indonesia. He’s not fluent in any sense of the term. I don’t think the place made much of an impression on him.

See Steve Sailer on Obama’s test performance. His intellect is more than adequate. He’s never been focused and serious about learning any trade. Recall the remark of a contemporary of his at Harvard who said Obama was in his observation more interested in being the ‘President’ of the Harvard Law Review than in doing anything with the job. He practiced law for about three years, was never offered a partnership. He taught law for 12 years, published no scholarly articles, was allowed to continue as an adjunct indefinitely, and was relegated to teaching the sort of elective law students call “__ & the Law” He was in the Illinois legislature and was influential enough to give the University of Chicago Hospitals the idea of laundering a bribe in the form of a huge raise for his wife, but he actually has never been identified as a maven in any area of policy. He’s generically intelligent, but it hardly matters in his case. (Thomas Sowell’s assessment is that he’s a phony).

Our single best guess is that the Administration’s being run by a committee trying to avoid acknowledging what everyone knows, that the president is senile. What’s interesting is the thorough attention to appearances among the elites of the Democratic Party. Nearly every Republican administration since 1968 has had obtrusive turncoats whose public utterances get wide currency. Carter and Clinton produced a few, in Clinton’s case only after he’d left office. The last two Democratic administrations not a one yet.

  24. The Obama team is behind both.

I doubt there’s anyone in Israel who takes Obama seriously. There’s been a long term effort by Israel’s judiciary to arrogate power to itself. Also, the political parties in Israel appealing to the sort most kindred to faculty types in the United States have seen over the last 20 years an implosion in their public support. Attacking the leading opposition politician through the courts is a card they have left to play.

  25. I too think its a group effort gingerly directing a grumpy/compliant Biden. Certainly the majority of that group have strong ties to Obama and know how he thinks and of what his views consist. Which they share, they’re all birds of a feather.

  26. I don’t think there are important policy disputes within the Democratic Party. There are tactical disputes and there are different roles. The people who have objections on policy have either been intimidated into silence or now are on the outside looking in (for the most part). That makes it look as if Obama’s running things when it’s just the consensus.

I’ve over the years been a participant in mixed fora and what gets you is that the Democrats participating (bar a Bernie or Tulsi partisan here or there) have distinctive voices, and sometimes interests, but they do not vary at all on policy questions or on their assessment of news cycle items. The closest you get to variation is that between people who are silent on the Democratic Party’s embarrassments and the people who simply deny they are embarrassments (Jonathan Turley had several Russian collusion truthers on his boards).

  27. I doubt there’s anyone in Israel who takes Obama seriously.

Oh, I agree but Obama sent team members over there to try to defeat Bibi in elections. The ploy against Netanyahu is so similar to Trump, is what I meant.

  28. Federal defense attorney and aggressive Con Law advocate, Robert Barnes, has an unexpected take on the Deep State’s further engagement with ex-Prez Trump.

He believes that it wasn’t egregious overreaching. Instead, he argues that indications support his argument that Trump asked heads of Departments what documents they absolutely would not want to see declassified? (This has been mooted elsewhere.)

And then declassified them and secreted them away as insurance over the Deep State.

Thus, Barnes argues that the MAL raid was an aggressive attempt by the Deep State to regain possession of said documents from Trump and keep their wrongful heinous deeds hidden or simply destroyed outright.

The huge size and strategy of going in — hoping to be secretive and hoping that if discovered, it would redound against Trump, smacks of audacious desperation! In other words, incredibly risky.

Further, he thinks that an overly broad warrant is consistent with his theory.

He adds many details. I have to listen again to his development of his points, from around 20 to 60 minutes mark, in this recent interview hosted by Viva Frei.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDhfikCSRsk&t=7196s

His claims are far from dumb, but when have Deep State actors been too cleaver by half? Almost never! They bumble, they’re arrogant, entitled, wilful and blind — just a Peter Strzok comes across to us in the play “FBI Lovebirds” based on his texts and Congressional investigative interviews.

Barnes case is tricky to parse from the more popular, conventional view, which share. But I will be opening my ears to grasp key differences in both sides — if only to learn more and follow a lot of class analysis spade work.

  29. “I doubt there’s anyone in Israel who takes Obama seriously.”

    They’d better:
“Biden”‘s about to release “JCPOA 2: The Sequel”… (coming soon to a theater near you…).

File under: “Hasta La Vista, Baby…”

  30. Over the target:
    “Lawyers for targeted journalist slam AG Garland’s ‘outrageous and illegal abuses’ of Biden critics;
“Civil libertarians and press freedom advocates have condemned DOJ overreach in Project Veritas case.”
    https://justthenews.com/government/federal-agencies/project-veritas-lawyers-garland-hypocrite-doj-targeting-media-outlets

    Which might raise the question:
What can one do about a rogue Attorney Justice who heads a rogue DOJ under a rogue government…when said rogue government holds almost ALL the power of government (while intending to hoover up whatever it DOESN’T YET CONTROL) and is supported by a rogue media and a rogue info-tech sector?

    (Jus’ askin’….)

File under: Giving it ALL you got…

  31. Does anyone still believe that the “rank-and-file” members of the Law Enforcement Establishment are above reproach? (I mean besides Hannity.) Has the government had any difficulty in finding willing foot soldiers in its pogrom against All Things Trump? If so, I have not noticed. Has anyone seen a single case of resignation, except for the beat cops who have been resigning in small numbers from municipal forces, albeit leaving a large majority of doughnut-eating, cowardly pension-seekers available to do the necessary dirty work? In fact, it seems to my jaundiced eye that the army of LEOs serving the interest of Big Government is alarmingly large and enthusiastic.

  32. The investigations of Netanyahu mostly went on when Trump was president. It’s possible that Obama contributed to earlier investigations, but it’s unlikely. Obama didn’t have that kind of reach and the Israelis didn’t need help from him in legal matters or investigations. They may be better at that than we are.

I also doubt Obama is running things in America now. He’s always been more about ego-gratification than about details. He wasn’t averse to using power in his own interest or for its own sake or to implement policy, but he wasn’t terribly focused or energetic. He was more into playing a role, certainly after his party lost Congress.

Does it really matter if field agents in Nome or Yuma or Ybor City are devoted public servants? There’s massive rot in the FBI, and it goes back a long way. But we’ll see what whistleblowers have to say.

  33. Does anyone still believe that the “rank-and-file” members of the Law Enforcement Establishment are above reproach?

I’ll wager there are segments of the FBI not implicated in what we’ve seen. Bad actors seem to come from way at the top or from the counter-intelligence division.

I think it’s a reasonable inference it’s an agency with a bad culture. See, for example, their refusal to record interviews (even though the technology has been available for 60-odd years and is used by small city police departments). See, for example, U.S. Attorneys acting on their behalf hitting people with charges for process offenses which have no analogue on the state level.

One thing that can be done to contain the damage the FBI can do is to scarify the federal penal code. But that would require Congress do things which do not generate campaign donations, which Congress just does not do.

  34. Thus, Barnes argues that the MAL raid was an aggressive attempt by the Deep State to regain possession of said documents from Trump and keep their wrongful heinous deeds hidden or simply destroyed outright.

They’d been granted access to the documents, so they at least had an idea of what was there. What they didn’t know is where DJT might have secreted copies of the hot stuff. He has four personal residences, his trustworthy relatives have personal residences, his company owns property all over the place, his attorneys have safes.

  35. . What they didn’t know is where DJT might have secreted copies of the hot stuff. He has four personal residences, his trustworthy relatives have personal residences, his company owns property all over the place, his attorneys have safes.

I hope he has the “Crossfire Hurricane” documents in on of those places. Copies, at least.

  36. I agree the raid was due to desperation.

    But why the desperation?

    – Because every other attack against Trump has failed to get him, and petered out?

    – or the Rico lawsuit?

    – or the hope to slime Trump by having him under investigation through at least the mid terms, reeks of Mueller. In order to hobble Trump?

    – Or just nasty politics to physically invade Trumps privacy.

    Or a combination?

  37. The difference this time is Trump is punching back. He has nothing left to lose, since they are going after him criminally.

During the Mueller star chamber, Trump had to worry about being impeached due to constant lawfare attacks, which limited his ability to counter the narrative.

This raid was a big mistake by the deep state, but they thought they could do a replay of the Mueller investigation, and the two impeachments, that partially hobbled Trumps administration.

    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/a-classic-anti-trump-frenzy

  38. Art Deco— Barnes maintains that Deep State documents that would expose is were likely no found. He infers this from Trump’s own upbeat and aggressive fight spbeginning with and since the FIB raid.

THIS claim strikes me as more plausible than his premise, paradoxically.

IIRC, the notion that Trump punked his enemies within the bureaucracies was mooted during the period between the election and J6th.

It was a rumour that had possible substance.

    OFF TOPIC but de jour.

Does anyone grasp how Liz Cheney Saures the circle that Liz Cheney is said to have voted with Trump policies 93% of the time in Congress. Yet now claims that the most important thing in the world to do is to protect us frm Trump?

The breath ptaking outrageousness of what Never Trumpers say is nprecedented and flabbergasting!

They claim impossible lies. And expect us to eat their shit?

Is it the pure power of what Ayn Rand’s one time heir, psychologist Nathaniel Brandon, called social metaphysics?

Liz Cheney displays pathological lying, to me. And I find her toadying completely bizarre.
