Even some Democrats are sounding the alarm about Biden’s plan to scrap Title 42
The vocal Democrat opposition to Biden’s tremendously destructive plan includes quite a few members of the House and even some senators. My guess is that almost none of these people would give a hoot about it if it weren’t for the timing; it’s scheduled to take place at the end of May, which is way too close to the upcoming midterm elections.
Ohio Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan, who announced last year his bid to succeed retiring Republican Sen. Rob Portman, told Fox News Digital that the removal of Title 42 is “wrong and reckless” as he warned of repercussions and the safety of Americans.
“The administration’s decision to roll back Title 42 is wrong and reckless,” Ryan said. “Prematurely ending this policy without a path forward does nothing to keep Americans safe, support our Border Patrol agents, protect asylum-seekers, or bring about the comprehensive fix our immigration system needs.”
Similar remarks came from Rep. Susie Lee, D-Nev., Rep. Sharice Davids, D-Kan., Rep. Elaine Luria, D-Va., California Democrat Rep. Mike Levin, Rep. Stephanie Murphy, D-Fla. (not seeking re-election), Maine Democrat Rep. Jared Golden, Reps. Angie Craig, D-Minn., Rep. Val Demings, D-Fla., and Kim Schrier, D-Wash. Senators of the same opinion inclue Sen. Michael Bennett, D-Colo., Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va. (of course), Arizona Democrat Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (unsurprising) and Mark Kelly, Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev. (who was all for ending Title 42 when it was Trump’s policy), and Warnocke of Georgia (facing a tough fight against Herschel Walker). Then there’s Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., who has long positioned herself as a moderate but has gone along with just about everything (or maybe in fact everything) the Democrats have done so far, no matter how radical. But guess what? She’s up for a re-election battle in November.
The polls must indicate that removing Title 42 is incredibly unpopular.
Plus, reports of “severe tension”:
Of the numerous inquiries sent out by Fox News Digital, several members of Congress refused to comment on the subject that has caused severe tension among members in the party.
Although I’m not sure this all isn’t just theater, about two weeks ago (April 7) this bipartisan bill was proposed:
Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02), joined by Reps. Tony Gonzales (TX-23), Tom O’Halleran (AZ-01), August Pfluger (TX-07), Stephanie Murphy (FL- 07), Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-02), Chris Pappas (NH-01), Don Bacon (NE-02), Greg Stanton (AZ-09), and Maria Elvira Salazar (FL-27) introduced today the Public Health and Border Security Act of 2022. The bipartisan bill would prevent President Biden from lifting existing Title 42 immigration restrictions without a plan in place from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to address the expected surge of migrants at the Southern border.
Senators James Lankford (R-OK) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) introduced similar bipartisan legislation in the Senate earlier today…
The bill would prohibit the Biden Administration from ending Title 42 until 60 days after formally ending the COVID-19 public health emergency declaration. Within 30 days of ending the public health emergency, the President must submit a plan to process the migrant surge to Congress.
It sounds like the bill could pass both House and Senate. But do they have the support to override a presidential veto?
Some person or people in the White House must think that rescinding Title 42 is of the utmost importance, even if it harms the re-election chances of Democrats in Congress. Then again, the White House powers that be might be thinking that they’ve already harmed those chances plenty already, so it would be hard to make things much worse.
The polls have said repeatedly that a majority of Democrats do not like open borders. But the Democratic politicians have ignored this to cater to the noisy left wing extremists. And the rank and file Dems hate Trump more than they dislike open borders, so they went along with it.
I’ve seen this in my personal life. If you ask a lefty which Trump policies they dislike, they will sometimes grudgingly admit they do not like open borders. But those mean tweets! Fine people! Russia Russia Russia!
What’s really happening here is that the polling details are showing that Dem support isn’t just melting away among the young, Blacks, Hispanics and Asians, it’s jumping to the Republican side. And they already know they’ve lost white working men, forever. The one group that the Democrats think they can count on? College educated women.
Only thing I can see that makes sense is that Biden et al are planning on registering some of them to vote and then voting on their behalf. When you think the fix is in, you’d hardly worry about “reelection” chances so it’s easy to ignore big issues that your base is mad about.
If losing a lot isn’t any worse than losing a little, might as well get the desired policy while you can.
It looks unlikely to all looking that the Reps will win enough in the Senate to override a Biden veto on Rep bills he doesn’t like. So gridlock 2023 thru 2025 is expected – get what can be got now.
Expecting to stealing the close elections might also be on their minds.
The democrat leadership is clearly not listening to members calling for moderation. Reason has no impact upon ideological fanatics.
After the November election they’ll demonize an obstructionist, “do nothing” Congress that they and the media will blame for preventing the democrats from lessening inflation. That promises to become an incessant drumbeat.
In 2024, run even more radical replacements for those lost.
By then, electoral fraud is likely to have risen to even greater heights. “Dems already infiltrating for 2024 election, plan will deploy 5,000 operatives, likely more”

I think initially they thought the flood of immigration would allow them to flip Texas back blue and maybe even Florida. For sure, it made California happy for cheap labor over having to use icky internal combustion engines to maintain crops. But Texas Democrats started to sound the alarm a couple of years ago. Many Hispanics left their country to get away from the people that stayed home and voted for socialist governments. They warned them, and now those refugees are fleeing the governments they claimed they wanted.
So now Texas and Florida are red, but blue California still needs the labor and the vote count. With the loss of population in California, you need more immigrants for headcounts to inflate general election numbers so you can still claim “the popular vote”. Meanwhile, a few blue pockets like Bexar, Travis, Dallas, and Harris County can do the same in Texas to hopefully run up tallies in favor of the Democrats in the major metros. The current Harris County covid outreach scandal has shown at least $11 million is up for grabs, and that was just 1 payment. Grift helps keep the politicians in line and ignoring their constituents.
One of the things happening in the Biden White House that may explain some of these weird and head-scratching moves is that we’re seeing a continuation of what happened with the Trump White House. Namely, there are lots of people inside the bureaucracy now pursuing their own agenda.
They did it with Trump to be part of “The Resistance” but having indulged the habit, they now continue because there’s simply no one in charge. I’d almost bet my life savings that Biden is less involved in day-to-day agenda setting and decision making than any previous President of my lifetime and I don’t think anyone is really filling the void. Not Kamala, not Klain, not “Dr.” Jill, no one.

Not even Barack and Valerie Jarrett? Or Susan Rice? I think the Obama team has a lot of clout. But it appears Barack is even lazier now than he was while in the White House, leaving the rest of the team to pull the strings.

I have no objection to the Democrats continuing to slice off more pieces of their constituent factions.
“…Barack is even lazier now…”
Except that why should he stick his neck out when he can stay behind the arras and control things from there?
(Besides, not even sure that Obama can be characterized as “lazy”—even if it might make some people feel better. After all, as Adam Smith said, “There is a lot of ruin in a nation”…so one can imagine the herculean effort, dedication and stamina it takes to systematically go about ruining one….)
Susan Rice? Don’t know about you but I haven’t heard a peep out of her since at least the inauguration (perhaps before)—not even an email to “self” to remind “self” (and the gangster cabal of which she is a member in excellent standing) that they really must do things “by the book”.
What might this mean?
It means—to me, at least—that they’re all for the most part maintaining “radio silence” (even if Obama puts his foot in his mouth from time to time, letting loose with several “tells”—the latest of these being Putin’s “responsibility” for higher gas prices, which the American citizen no doubt understands and will, patriotically, put up with…or simply(!) have to put up with…).
No surprises on that, of course: they KNOW that whatever they say or do—whatever President Gaffe-omatic emotes—they’re absolutely safe regarding the Corrupt Media. (They’ve even successfully co-opted the Easter bunny…several of ’em, in fact…and Easter bunnies are supposed to be non-partisan…)
File under: All the “President”‘s Easter Bunnies…
And while the country’s burning, Hillary Clinton is peddling fast and furious trying to obscure her cameo role in that magnificent opera(tion) known to buffs as “Russiagate”…
(This actually makes quite a lot of sense seeing that she’s the devious Diva…or at least, one of the the arsons in chief).

(I don’t get it. Can’t they just all plead the Fifth and get the case thrown out of court?)
Never thought THIS could happen but it looks like a whole slough of Black leaders are transitioning to White Supremacism:
“Black leaders call out ‘woke corporations’ for supporting Black Lives Matter
One speaker accused the companies of “helping BLM leaders amass a reported treasure trove of hate mongering, blood money totaling 100 million dollars.””
https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/finance/black-leaders-call-out-woke-corporations-supporting-black-lives-matt
(Then again, these days anything can happen….)
File under: They ain’t black….
And what about the NFL and other sports leagues who stuffed BLM’s pockets?

If we had sensible laws, corporation executives and corporate boards in the commercial sphere would be debarred by law from making philanthropic donations with their shareholders’ money. Non-profits would be debarred from making donations to corporate bodies unless they were issued charters of a discrete type which allowed them to do that; ideally, non-profits so permitted would be debarred by law from doing anything but making donations and would have to liquidate their endowments and shut down a certain distance in time from when they were founded.
Art Deco @ 8:44: “…If we had sensible laws…”
Ah. There’s your problem.
The US borders were wide open during the barry HUSSEIN ocommie admin; well before Trump was in the news.
The ONLY thing that changes is the excuses / reasons they provide to support any of their destructive policies.
Open borders is just one of the many ways the liberal progressives intend to “fundamentally change” the USA.
This latter remark is one of the few times that barry ocommie actually said what he intended to do.
This Title 42 is a perfect example of the hypocrisy, the slime, the parasites, the vermin that populates the halls of Congress and within the federal bureaucracy. It’s ONLY because some dems believe that abandoning Title 49 may cause them to lose their election that is prompting them to raise objection to scraping Title 49.
Does any sentient human actually believe that these demonkrats are opposed to scraping Title 49 because they really do not like it or because doing so will be harmful to this nation?
What is really disturbing about this is that probably 95% of all demonkrats in Congress desire that the USA be flooded by illegals, with no regard to immigration laws and no regard to the deleterious consequences American citizens will have to contend with.
The demonkrats simply do not give a flying F about the American people. And the dumbpublicans are too chicken-s**t to do much of anything (one reason they hated Trump; he attacked problems and solved them, which highlighted the ineptitude and stupidity of the dumbpublicans).
As for certain reliable demokrat voting blocs, e.g., blacks and hispanics, beginning to reconsider their voting decisions, I will believe it when I see it.
Just look at the hell holes of Philly, Chicago, Detroit, Newark, etc; the voters in these heavily minority cities just keep re-electing the same people over and over and over. And the denizens of these towns are in the front lines, in the trenches of the chaos (literally ducking bullets) their “leaders” have allowed, encouraged and supported.
But the voters there do not change their vote.
If living in a war zone does not change their vote, pray tell, what will ??
It’s easy to think that most voters follow / read blogs of any political persuasion. I will surmise that the vast majority do not.
So when it’s time for re-election, the candidate makes sure that “he / she” gives away a few thousand Thanksgiving turkeys to constituents and locks in their votes.
Seems to work every time.
Actually, “he/she” is not giving away anything. It is US / WE , thru our tax dollars that are being compelled to pay for these give-aways.
Lastly, somebody, some organization(s) is paying big $$$ to organize and plan the massive groups of illegals walking hundreds of miles to the Rio Grande. And it would not surprise me if some (many?) of these groups are domiciled in the USA.
How is this legal?
