Remember the days of jello posts? — 8 Comments

  1. Lemon Lime Pineapple Surprise!
It’s actually delicious but just don’t think too deeply about how jello is made.

  2. Ah, the jello mold. This brings back fond memories of my dear mother-in-law. She would make one for family holiday dinners, and when dinner was almost over she would exclaim, “I forgot the jello mold!”

  3. Atomic Ranch magazine featuring retro and mid-century stye. Very cool.

    Architecture and homes:

The Chemosphere or flying saucer house.

Brutalist architecture featuring the library at UC San Diego up top. My old grad school. I was surprised in later years to see that this was a widely reviled design.

In recent years my wife and I had dog walked and dog sat a pooch that is owned by the son of a famous mid-century architect. I see his father and work is there in Atomic Ranch too.

  4. It would not be St. Patrick’s Day dinner (yes, I’m aware they do not prepare corned beef in Ireland) without our lime jello, 1/2 of which is prepared with whipped cream blended in for a light/dark green mold. 40 years and counting.

  5. OMG! My mother made the Cranberry Jello every Thanksgiving. In a ring mold. Relish and all.
I never ate it – although it wasn’t bad tasting.
Lingonberries for me – accept no substitutes.
Lime? Don’t think so. My personal Jello preference is Wild Cherry with sliced bananas – a rare treat the few times I or a sibling was ill. Can’t find Wild Cherry Jello anymore – not even on the web!
