The blowhard Prof. Turley discusses is ensconced in the teacher-training faculty. I don’t think there are many teacher training faculties which do not deserve to be shut down for the simple reason that their course selections are irrelevant to their supposed function and even the ones that are not irrelevant are often based on what E.D. Hirsch calls ‘cargo-cult social research’. The Wyoming legislature is considering a measure to shut down ‘gender studies’ programs at Wyoming’s state schools. That’s a good start, but there’s much more to do.
Note, Prof. Turley makes reference in passing the CUNY Law School. That’s another failed project (founded in 1983). Of course, the state legislature would never have the stones to shut it down entirely, in spite of the overcapacity in legal education in Downstate New York.
I’m sure the same is true for censors working at Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube. Why don’t Republicans make this a human rights issue and demand unionization of these oppressed workers? Since disparate impact and intersectionality can be applied everywhere to any situation, Republicans should also make this a campaign issue.
How can Democrats oppose unionization, correcting disparate impact, and stopping the exploitation of knowledge workers? Censorship workers are critical workers. Even the pandemic couldn’t stop them. Now is the time to reward these heroes. Campaign commercials built around censors’ interviews would almost write themselves.

Just another loose thread.
Today, I learned that China’s censors are overworked and chronically stressed (https://tinyurl.com/2c4ee8vd).
